You may be having to move early to beat the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price rises, putting together a Wildcard or activating a Free Hit. Or, quite simply, you can’t wait to ‘kneejerk’ out a certain dud.

But if you’re one of those FPL managers who like to eliminate the risks associated with an early transfer, it’s worth mentioning that 12 Premier League teams are in action before we get to Gameweek 4.

Injuries can and often do crop up whenever there are midweek games, while UEFA Champions League or EFL Cup teamsheets may give us a few clues as to a Premier League manager’s intentions for the weekend.

With that in mind, here’s when the domestic and European fixtures take place this week.

TURNAROUND TIMES

action Premier League

Thanks to the wonderful Legomane, we can see the turnaround times from these midweek fixtures to Gameweek 4. We’ve also included up to Gameweek 5, which is the final round of Premier League matches before the first international break.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have the dreaded Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday turnaround ahead of Gameweek 4. In the Blues’ case, they’re only in EFL Cup action, although it’s worth pointing out that Xabi Alonso went strong in the last round. He handed 90 minutes to Cole Palmer (£9.6m), while Reece James (£5.4m) and Morgan Rogers (£7.6m) both got starts. James was subsequently benched in Gameweek 2.

Liverpool have a quick turnaround from Atletico to Fulham: there are only 65 hours between full-time in one and kick-off in the other. Still, they’ve had a nice long run-up to their Champions League tie, having been in action on Friday.

At the other end of the scale, Manchester City (Tuesday-Sunday), Newcastle United (Tuesday-Monday) and Leeds United (Wednesday-Monday) have favourable turnarounds from midweek to Gameweek 4.

Stay tuned for team news today and tomorrow from the pre-match press conferences ahead of these midweek fixtures.

United are conceding 2 goals per game this season, including against such powerhouses like Hull & Ipswich…

      Why wouldn’t you want Haaland?
      He’s a captain material.

2FT 0itb. Currently playing van Ewijk vs Brighton which isn't ideal, but also want to get Rogers in... Best move here?

    Kinsky
    Calafiori, Dedic, van Ewijk
    Bruno, Szobo, Tzolis, Groß
    Haaland, Isak, JP

    (Rushworth, Maguire, Slater, Hume)

    Best moves here?

    a) Rushworth, Maguire, Tzolis > 4.0, Konsa, Rogers
    b) Maguire, Tzolis > L.Davis, Rogers
    c) Hume > Konsa and roll

    Thanks

    Hows the FH team legends;

    Verbuggen
    Calafiori Gabriel Kerkez
    Palmer Rogers Gakpo Saka Gibbs-White
    Pedro(c) Isak

The 2 spots I'm debating is the keeper and whether to go with MGW or someone else..

    Thanks!

I'd be worried going without Haaland. He has a great record vs Utd.

Which option to move on for Cherki and Foden?
    A) Palmer & hold Foden
    B) Palmer & KDH/ Barnes
    C) Rogers & Palmer for -4

Are you guilty of bringing them both in together last week for -4?

If the answer is yes then Id do C)

Any thoughts on my WC team? £0.5m left over.

    Bruno, Palmer, Cherki, Gross, Slater
    Haaland, Pedro, Wissa

That defence is rough. But makes sense given the threemium.

I'd probably downgrade Wissa to a 4.5 and upgrade your defence. Cherki to Rogers too.

ManU failed to keep a clean sheet against HUL, IPS and EVE so I'm getting rid of Lammens!!!
Could I get your thoughts on the following options please on a Free Transfer?

    a) Lammens to Kinsky and use extra 0.5m to upgrade N.Williams to Hall (or Araujo)
    b) Lammens to Hornicek (LEE, HUL, COV, AVL & CRY next 5)
    c) Lammens to Kinsky and bank the 0.5m

On GW8, Verbruggen faces LIV and Kinsky faces CHE. Current backline is:
    Verbruggen/Lammens
    Calafiori/Konsa/DeCuyper/Gvardiol/Williams
    Thks
