FPL Challenge – a different twist on the traditional Fantasy Premier League game – returns for Gameweek 6.

Each week comes with its own rules, which can completely change the players we target every week.

Here, Louis runs through his top tips and best picks for the Gameweek 6 Challenge before revealing his own team.

While the FPL deadline has passed, you can still enter Challenge teams right up until kick-off!

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE THIS WEEK?

TOP PICKS

GOALKEEPERS

We’ll look to our clean-sheet projections for support when choosing a goalkeeper this week.

Arsenal lead the way with a 50% chance against Leeds United, which naturally brings David Raya into consideration.

Everton rank second on 35% for their trip to Hull City, which makes Jordan Pickford another appealing option.

Manchester United’s Senne Lammens and Chelsea’s Emiliano Martínez offer alternatives, with clean-sheet projections of 32% and 31% respectively. Although neither have massively convinced from a defensive perspective yet.

Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen should also be a consideration. The Seagulls have managed three clean sheets already this campaign.

DEFENDERS

Arsenal lead the clean-sheet projections and have conceded the league’s lowest expected goals total. That makes Gabriel Magalhães a standout against Leeds. He scored three goals last season, including a winner against Newcastle.

Riccardo Calafiori offers an alternative after two assists this season, although Gabriel carries greater aerial threat.

Everton’s James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite appeal against Hull, with a 35% clean-sheet projection. Both offer reliable defensive contributions and have registered three shots inside the box.

Newcastle’s Lewis Hall has scored, assisted and earned DefCon points in three of five matches. Coventry provide another opportunity to add to those returns.

Brighton’s Maxim De Cuyper has operated as a left-winger, producing seven shots and 2.22 expected goal involvement. He’s also been incredibly consistent as an FPL asset this season.

MIDFILEDERS

Bukayo Saka appeals for Arsenal’s home meeting with Leeds after scoring three league goals this season.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes also merits consideration against Tottenham. He has taken 19 shots, although all three goals and his assist came in the win over Ipswich. Bryan Mbeumo offers an alternative route into the attack after supplying five winning goals last season.

Pascal Groß should be on all Challengers minds after producing three goals and three assists in Brighton’s opening five league matches. He has played all 450 minutes and already converted a penalty, which adds to his appeal against Sunderland.

Cole Palmer could become another strong option against Bournemouth. Teammate Morgan Rogers offers an alternative after starting all five league matches.

Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes faces Coventry after producing a goal and three FPL assists. Fulham’s Josh King has scored twice, while Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has taken 18 shots ahead of the trip to Hull. All three could be fantastic differential options.

FORWARDS

Liverpool away isn’t ideal, but leaving out Erling Haaland feels difficult in this Challenge. He scored 10 winning goals last season, including the decisive strike in both meetings with Liverpool.

Igor Thiago also catches the eye after seven winning goals last season. Brentford’s trip to Aston Villa looks competitive, but penalty duty gives him another route to the extra points.

Everton’s Thierno Barry could be another good pick against Hull. He scored the only goal against Ipswich last time out and has started all five league matches.

For Arsenal, Viktor Gyökeres could be a strong pick against Leeds if he starts. He supplied five winning goals last season, so keep an eye on the line-up.

Fulham’s Gonzalo García and Newcastle’s Yoane Wissa offer alternatives against Ipswich and Coventry respectively. García’s starting place needs checking, while Wissa’s recent penalty miss is a slight concern.

João Pedro would also be of interest against Bournemouth, providing he makes the starting XI for Chelsea after recent fitness issues.

TEAM REVEAL

  • I think this looks pretty good going into Gameweek 6.
  • I like Pickford in goal, although maybe that could be a waste of an Everton spot for their clash with Hull. I could just go Verbruggen and maybe go Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall or James Tarkowski.
  • For now he stays, along with De Cuyper who has been brilliant this season.
  • I’ll check the line-up for Cole Palmer, but I really like his fixture. I also really like Saka for this one against Leeds.
  • Haaland is a shoo-in as captain, especially with how many winning goals he scored last season.
