MLS Fantasy continues, and we’ve asked our experts to reveal the teams they’re backing ahead of the Gameweek 31 deadline.

In this article, several experienced managers share their current squads, along with their thinking around key decisions for the round

  • My moves for Round 31 are largely focused on FC Cincinnati and D.C. United, who face each other twice in what looks set to be the final Double Gameweek of the regular season.
  • At the back, I’ve brought in Sean Johnson in goal and Tyrell Malacia in defence. Based on recent performances, both look capable of producing the best Fantasy returns in their respective positions. The added bonus is that I can assess two scores before deciding whether to switch to a Single Gameweek fallback towards the end of the round.
  • I’ve taken a similar approach up front, bringing in Tai Baribo and Kévin Denkey. Neither offers much of a points floor, but with two matches to play, I’m hoping both can grab at least one attacking return.
  • I’ve also activated my Triple Captain chip for the Double Gameweek, with Evander taking the armband. Hopefully, he can make the most of those two fixtures!

  • We have just four weeks of the regular season remaining, with FC Cincinnati and D.C. United both playing twice in Round 31. This looks set to be the final Double Gameweek, so I’ll be using my Triple Captain token. As always, I’ll check the latest injury report later this evening, which is available through the MLS Communications page on X.
  • I’ve made a change in goal this week, bringing in Hugo Lloris alongside Andrew Thomas, who will be my second goalkeeper.
  • At the back, I’ve gone with Maxwell Woledzi, Mathías Laborda, Silvan Hefti, Neil Pierre and Yevhen Cheberko. Hopefully, this group can deliver some solid returns as we approach the end of the regular season.
  • There are a couple of changes in midfield, with Leo Walta replacing André Luiz and Cincinnati’s Samuel Gidi coming in for Albert Rusnák. They join Evander, who will be my Triple Captain this week. Milan Iloski and Guilherme, who has been one of the standout Fantasy assets this season, complete the midfield.
  • Up front, Lionel Messi leads the line once again, supported by Antoine Griezmann and Kévin Denkey. It’s a strong-looking attack, and I’m hoping all three can deliver some attacking returns this round.
  • With this likely to be our final Double Gameweek, I’m committing my Triple Captain token to Evander. Two fixtures give him a great opportunity to deliver a big score, so hopefully the gamble pays off!

  • My goalkeepers will remain unchanged this week, despite a slight fixture clash. I’m happy enough with the pairing to stick with them for another round.
  • In defence, I’ll be bringing in both Tyrell Malacia and Nono, who have two fixtures in the Double Gameweek. Both offer plenty of attacking threat despite being classified as defenders, which makes them particularly appealing options this round.
  • There are plenty of attractive Single Gameweek midfielders to consider, but with my focus firmly on the Double Gameweek, it’s difficult to fit everyone in. André Luiz and Hany Mukhtar are the two standout alternatives, although I may struggle to find room for either.
  • Up front, it’s difficult to look beyond Kévin Denkey and Tai Baribo this week. Both have two opportunities to deliver attacking returns, making them very appealing options for the Double Gameweek.

  • In goal, I’m likely to stick with Andre Blake and Yohei Takaoka, despite D.C. United and FC Cincinnati both having a Double Gameweek. I’m happy enough with the pairing to keep them for another round.
  • At the back, I’m doubling up on Nashville’s defence with Maxwell Woledzi and Reed Baker-Whiting. They have a favourable home fixture against Montreal, and both offer attacking potential alongside their clean-sheet prospects.
  • Mathías Laborda, Kai Wagner and Peyton Miller complete my defence for now. However, I’m also considering Nono, who is playing out of position for D.C. United and has two fixtures to potentially deliver attacking returns.
  • In midfield, Evander is an absolute lock with his Double Gameweek, and I’m strongly considering using my Triple Captain chip on him. The rest of my midfield consists of Guilherme, Carles Gil, Milan Iloski and Hany Mukhtar, giving me a good mix of reliable performers and attacking potential.
  • There are a few other midfielders on my radar if I decide to make changes. Santiago Rodríguez, Columbus Crew’s Taha Habroune and Sporting Kansas City’s André Luiz are all appealing alternatives, although fitting them into the squad could be tricky.
  • Up front, Lionel Messi is an easy hold for the remainder of the regular season. Alongside him, I’m likely to sell either Rafael Navarro or Antoine Griezmann to bring in Tai Baribo, taking advantage of D.C. United’s Double Gameweek.
