before my time MnL but I can see how a tradegy like that should not be forgotten as if we deny history then it inevitably repeats itself.

And it was only weeks before heysel, more people died in it and yet all I have ever heard of was the heysel and hilsborough tragedies?

Oh well I can see how some people would have taken my comment in the wrong context and I guess I will have to watch my words in future.

Dino, it was indeed an horrific and avoidable event.

Could have happened anywhere-indeed I know someone who went to games at 9 years old around that time and saw rubbish piling up under wooden stands (not Valley Parade, incidentally). He saw it as a fire risk then, so how no one else did is beyond me.

And I don’t think it’s as really worth saying “OH YES I agree with everything you say”, otherwise 90% of the comments here would be people saying just that (because most people give decent views and information on here: Marknlard, Mfaulkner, Dino, the contributors etc). I usually only comment if I disagree with someone as it gives other readers a different viewpoint.

Bantam I have just read up on the incident you thought I was refering to and it was tragic in every sense of the word.

I think those regular posters on here would back me up when I say that I would NEVER stoop so low as to make a joke of something so grevious.

I can see now also why Stuart McCall is such a legend down that way.

I held onto him for a while as he was a doubt, not definitely out. I wish clubs told it like it was, rather than saying things like “the wolves game MAY come ONE game too soon”. Sold him for Milner, which worked a treat. Now Milner for Dunn.

And I will definitely be getting Zamora for the double. I dont see why ppl think he’s THAT bad this season
