Jamie O’Hara’s loan spell at Portsmouth is set to be brought to an end by the middle of this month according to reports this morning. His agreement at Fratton Park is due to expire on January 15th and this today there are claims that Spurs are looking to recall the player and loan him out to another Premier League club.

Portsmouth’s ongoing problems with meeting player wages and the transfer embargo in place at the club, already make a loan extension look unlikely. With loan deals currently being extended throughout the country, the O’Hara situation is yet to be resolved. Yesterday it was confirmed that Spurs had refused the club permission to field O’Hara in their Cup tie with Coventry – fuelling speculation that he would be recalled…

O’Hara has shown decent form in a struggling Portsmouth side and has represented strong budget value in fantasy terms. Starting at just 4.5 in the Fantasy Premier League game, O’Hara has seen a price rise to 4.6 and is owned by over 100,000 managers. Should he return to Spurs he would surely struggle to break into Redknapp’s side but Harry has offered strong indication that another loan deal would be on the cards.

“Jamie needs to play, that’s the problem”

Amongst the January transfer frenzy, the O’Hara situation may seem insignificant but is clearly worth monitoring. Should he find himself in a stronger attacking side, his fantasy potential would take another step forward and his popularity would be on the rise again.

  • Oh well, back in the relegation dogfight now. Thanks then, Cisse. Game was safe till we went down to 10 men… »
  • Why? Man City are at home and will look to make a point. Even without Kompany I still think they can easily win 2 or 3-0… »
  • He doesn't exactly have many options with Toure away. »
