Tuesday’s Dugout Discusson

Tonight’s action has Bolton play their second fixture of the gameweek as they travel to the Stadium of Light and face Steve Bruce’s Sunderland. At the same time Portsmouth host Birmingham for the second time in four four days having disposed of Alex McLeish’s side in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Sunderland have already taken the lead within one minute of action through Frazier Campbell, while McCleish provides an even bigger shock on the south coast as he leaves fantasy managers agog with a really strong bout of rotation fever. The likes of Bowyer, McFadden and Carr are all given a rest this evening.

My Knee Jerk nightmare Nicklas Bendtner has also rubbed salt into open wounds by scoring from open play with his first attempt this evening, unfortunately for me the Champions League doesn’t offer any favours to my fantasy team..

The Dugout Discussion is up and running to catch your joy and agony in real-time.

who to get rid between roon, drog and torres?

  2. banz says:

What’s the other website besides FISO to track player price changes?

Also is there a twitter service that updates rises & drops before they happen? that would really be useful.

  3. farhanfaizi says:

Any prediction on Burnley vs Stoke game?

  4. Aleesh says:

Hey…new here. Can anyone tell me who my captain might be if I have both Vermaleen and Bent? My preference is set for value. They’re my highest valued.

  5. hooi1983 says:

i transfer in Milner for Etherington.
should i take 4 points hit to transfer in Collins for Scharner?

    thanks

    • Jafalad says:

Milner yes, the extra hit no. You already have Dunne and 2 Villa defenders is a bit risky if Villa concede. They have 2 tricky away games first up too. I swapped Dunne for Collins a few weeks back as I thought there is no point having Dunne when you could have a teammate for 2million cheaper.

  6. Jafalad says:

Bugger. Bowyer doesn’t play, Ricketts gets sent off and concedes 4, Hart lets a goal in and to cap it off, the player I outed, Jerome, scores a double. Bugger, bugger, bugger.
More bugger:saw Bendtner’s name in hatrick headlines and then realised it was euro cuppy. Bugger, bugger, bugger.

    • buggu says:

for a sec i though you were having a go at me.

Nvm seems like you have the same bad luck i tend to have, i tend to get ppl injured or rotated so as i bring them in.

  7. buggu says:

how does this team look for gw 31:

    Hart
    Ivan Collins Dawson
    Fabs(c) Milner Nzogbia Arteta
    Drogba Tevez Bendtner

Is there anyone i really need, lamps and bullard are the only ones that come to mind.

    • Jafalad says:

I’d be tempted to captain Drogba this week esp. given the uncertainty over Fabs.
That’s a tasty line up though only missing Rooney and Lampard from the heavy hitters.

      • zophar says:

im going gerrard , probably the last time i will this season captain a pool player

        • Jafalad says:

Gave up on Gerrard months ago. He’s had a mare of a season and don’t see how it can help England in the world cuppy.

          • zophar says:

yeah ive been thinking of selling Gerrard for Milner but its probably Liverpool’s easiest game of the season and they should look to show some reaction after the Wigan defeat ..

might captain Drogba over Gerrard but scared after Drogba drew blank last GW against MCY when i had him captain

    • buggu says:

its a line up for the week after, not this gameweek.

      • Jafalad says:

Sorry buggu, it’s been a long hot day here in godzone and I’m, er, buggered.
Yes I can see your drift. Tevez will be a good buy and 1 I’d like.

  8. zophar says:

im not very keen on playing Baines this week vs birm away, I reckon everton will concede

i’m thinking of bringing in Gareth Bale for Ricketts, which would mean doubling up on Spurs defenders (Dawson and Bale) for BLA and POR home games.. good/bad idea?

    • Jafalad says:

That’s the thing about EVR:they do concede quite a bit and I don’t see the point in investing in a defender at 6 mill that ships goals no matter how many crosses he puts in da box.
I s Bale sure to start? If Spurs concede, then the impact is doubled. They do look like good cs opportunities though.

      • zophar says:

bale played on the left wing against Fulham , so even with Assou-Ekkoto playing im thinking Bale will start … gonna wait till the game tonight before doing anything though

this article swung me towards bale :

        http://www.tottenhamhotspur.co.....90310.html

        • Jafalad says:

Yeah I can see how that would float your boat. He played a stormer against us in fa cuppy when he was reintroduced to the side.
He’s the sort of player u need, ay!

          • zophar says:

he is a great differential too, only 1.1% of people have him !!

what do you reckon about bendtner, worth keeping for another few weeks?

            • Jafalad says:

well I sometimes think that footballers are like racehorses…they have these golden patches of form so I think it pays to stay with Bendy this week.

  9. GodFowler says:

Gutted this week…took an 8 point hit for Pienaar, Bendtner and Nando.

Bendtner misses a truck of chances against Burnley, then bags a hat-trick tonight. Nando draws a blank against and Carragher loses a clean sheet against Wigan – and my closet rival in my mini league has Scharner.

I have hart and ridgewell and they lose a clean sheet 2 minutes into stoppage time…and to rub salt in the wound, guess who my mini league rival has? Jerome…..sheesh love and hate this game at the same time

  10. GodFowler says:

seriously – triple Birmingham defenders?? that does make me feel better.

To make matters worse I dropped Drogs for Torres, now nervous to hold on to Nando – really want Drogs back – especially as my rival has him…

  11. Chill Pill says:

Triple Birmingham defenders came in last week and was stoppage time away from coming in this week which would have proved a genius move, its fine lines unfortunatly in fantasy football and that’s the way it goes when you take the risk and think for yourself rather then hang off the scouts picks or hang off the contributers every word and let them pick the team for you.

    On to next week…

    • champ says:

Nah mate. It was just a bad idea

      • Chill Pill says:

No it wasn’t, after 180 mins there were 2 clean sheets, stoppage time made it look a bad choice, this is all you can do in ff unless you wanna be gormless and just pick who you are told to pick like Pienaar and Bendtner and then cry about it all week afterwards.

        • champ says:

I disagree, 3 brum defenders is madness, especially when away. They hardly ever keep cs’s away. Pompey scored as most would expect them to at home against brum, doesn’t matter if it was in the 1st min or 90th.

          • RaspingDrive says:

For what it’s worth, I happen to think it was well worth a punt and unlucky not to come off. Bottom side club, already relegated with their attention now more on the FA Cup? Hardly a bad idea.

  12. Camakazi says:

    Hey all team is
    Sorenson (robinson)
Ivanovic, R Johnston, Evra, Dawson (zayette)
    Fab, pieneer, Nzog, (bowyer, eagles)
    Drog, Rooney, Bendtner
    2.2 in bank

    1. Zayette to Collins
    2. Evra and Bowyer/Eagles for Collins and Milner (4point hit)
    3. Evra to Collins (then bowyer/eagles for milner next week)
    4. Pienaar for Milner
    5. A better option???

    Thanks

    • tripleseven says:

      2.
i think MU will struggle against fulham and liverpool (like usually they did).
      Eagles on rotation.
Milner look like a must have for the rest of season, and have double DGW.
i dont pick opt.4 cos you need to cover everton player.

  13. RaspingDrive says:

I need to get something off my chest. In fantasy football terms I despise Darren Bent, hate him with a passion. F**k him and the horse he road in on. Together with Richard Dunne, he has caused me no end of pain all season. And as for Bendtner – you were 3 days too f**king late, mate!

Top of the morning to you, chaps. Carry on as you were.

    • Evs says:

      LOL… I dont RD ;-)

PS, I may sell Evra too (for Villa def) – no funds to upgrade Dann from my plans !

    • champ says:

Top post! I couldn’t agree more, I’m always finding reasons to avoid those 2 yet they keep burning me.

For the coming gw i really want to get out Taylor, but my 1st choice in from Villa would be Friedel.

Ideally maybe Robinson > Friedel and Taylor > A Young, but im like 0.2 short.

Is Downing a really poor alternative in this case?
I have Fabs, but want to hang on to him and see what happens. One option would be to drop Valencia for Milner/A Young, but like i said. Its Taylor i primarily want to kick off the team.

  15. skully says:

do you think walcott is a certain starter this weekend??

    • teddy says:

Nope. Even when fit & in form & favour Wenger likes to use him as an impact sub. The fact that Nasri, Rosicky & Arshavin came off easly last night suggests it’ll be those 3 + Diaby and Bendtner + 1 of Denilson, Eboue, Walcott or of course Fabregas if fit.

  16. clm says:

Current team for this week is:
    Sorensen (Hart)
    Dunne Insua Alexander Ivanovic (Baines)
    Fabregas(c) Taylor Kuyt Pienaar (Eagles)
    Bendtner Tevez (Bent)

nb this is assuming cech starts…if not sub off ivanovic for Bent

1.8 in the bank, 0 transfers so far this GW

what is the general consensus on torres and pavlyuchenko? i feel, despite bents hattrick i should bring in one of the two as well as possibly getting rid of kuyt and or taylor for maybe modric?? thoughts?

    • teddy says:

I assume if Cesc doesn’t play Bent and Ivanovic would both be playing.

      Not Torres, Pav or Modric.

Taylor to Milner’s the obvious one. And maybe start Bent instead of Pienaar…
