Injuries and Bans Updated

Filed under: Injury News - Posted by: Paul

Over the past couple of days, we’ve been sorting out our Injuries and Bans database, updating the upcoming suspensions for the season ahead in addition to keeping note of those players still sidelined or unavailable for one reason or another…

This takes into account the ensuing bans for the likes of Tim Cahill and Joey Barton, while Danny Rose and Jason Roberts have already served one game of their respective three-match suspensions. Wayne Bridge’s loan move to Brighton and Chelsea pair Patrick Van Aanholt and Tomas Kalas’ season-long move to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem have also been noted accordingly.

In terms of injuries, players such as Darren Bent and Nemanja Vidic have now been changed to “available for selection” in light of their respective returns to pre-season training. Any long-term casualties who have yet to return to any sort of action remain marked as unavailable – as always, this includes Kieron Dyer.

We’re also tracking all the injury news from the pre-season matches: those players causing concern will be marked as “knocks” while we await further updates. Their status will of course change should they become “doubts” or “outs” for the season kick-off on August 18.

I run a magazine for the internal communications at work. We’ve had 150 people in our main league last year. I need to be able to plan out coverage and publish the league code, so knowing when the new season will be launched will be very useful.

However I heard from another source AVB is keen on him as he seems him as his kind of player.
I think he’ll be given pre-season, see how he fits into the new 4-3-3 system and how well he trains (this has been the long term problem) and then sell him near the end of the summer if it doesn’t go well.

Whose fans – Twente’s or Gladbach’s? Gladbach supporters are ecstatic as they have been trying to get de Jong for ages.

No news about Hoilett to Gladbach, which had gone very quiet for weeks due to Hoilett’s ridiculously high wage demands. Gladbach will probably sign a second striker fairly quickly now that their main expenditure is over, but it could also be Raffael from relegated Hertha Berlin.

    JELLYFISH says:

Morning all. I see Newcastle are ‘stepping up their bid to lure’ Carroll back to Tyneside’ which I find rather perplexing. Why?. They pulled out a diamond in Papiss last season so why on earth would Pardew want to tinker with a proven formula? I can only assume that Ba wants out.

can’t imagine he’d start with the current set up. within the parameters of the club’s transfer policy? young but economically viable? could be a good option of the bench if things arent looking good but would carroll settle for that?

There’s (hopefully) going to be enough games this season for him to get his chance. What I quite like about Pardew is that he isn’t afraid to chance his system based on players’ form.

If he were to sign and Carroll is playing well, we can adjust to accommodate him.

I’d have him back but only for the right £ and the right wages. He isn’t a £75k/week player at NUFC.

      GreenWindmill says:

Not sure Ba ‘wants’ out (he’s made statements about his happiness but then doesn’t everyone?) but there’s still considerable doubt over his future. Even if he stayed there’s a lack of depth up front – after Cisse and Ba it’s then Ameobi followed by some kids.

I suppose Pardew thinks Liverpool are undervaluing an asset and that makes it a decent move. Not sure he’d fit into the wage structure at Newcastle these days though, not without taking a massive cut anyway.
