HomeCrowd Tweaks

Tonight we’ve introduced a few changes to the HomeCrowd comments system – the main tweak being the removal of the downvote mechanism to put more emphasis on upvoting in order to ensure comments remain useful, entertaining and friendly.

We’ve taken this decision after gathering feedback from the community and undertaking lengthy discussion behind the scenes. We want to ensure there remains a strong focus on positive interaction between community members and to reduce any misuse of the voting system. It appeared that there was clear confusion on how the downvote should be used and the mechanic had also become secondary as an aid to moderation.

Many of the major social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook only have positive feedback options, such as ‘like’ and ‘favourite’ and we’ve decided to follow their lead. As before, please be sure to upvote any comment that you find useful and that you feel benefits the community.

In order to allow users to flag up any comments that they feel warrant moderator attention, we’ve also made a slight change by renaming the “report” button to “flag”. Please use the flag button if you feel a comment post is disruptive or abusive and a moderator will take a look and act on it if required.

Finally, we have removed the publicly displayed reputation level badges. Again, these caused some confusion and while we’ve kept them and the hidden reputation system behind them, the badges can now only be seen within a poster’s profile.

Thank you to everyone for your feedback during the first few weeks of HomeCrowd, it has been invaluable to helping us evolve it. Once the season begins and traffic levels settle, we will hopefully have the opportunity to start adding new features.

Not sure what this means - may be he is training with Spurs today?

Seeing a lot of negativity for Anelka on here, I think he's greatly underpriced at 5.5 million - on the Sky game he's in the premium range at 8.2 million. Bar a cup run I don't see him being rested as much as people think and could be one of the bargins of the season.....

This Makes a case for rvp + Anelka 19.5 m in total , comes close to a lot of other pairings .
Sky have priced Rvp @ 10 m , fpl have overpriced him IMO 13.5 would have been more accurate.

The Liverpool Echo (Liverpool's unofficial mouthpiece) are reporting that Liverpool have agreed a loan deal with Benfica for their 22 year old left back Melgarejo, Melgarejo scored 10 goals in 29 games in the 2011/12 season and can play left wing and striker, we may have a OOP defender on our hands at some point this season... it's a shame he's a defensive liability and may not get a work permit 🙁

Walcott is a bit cheaper and playing well in the pre-season, but last season he scored the most points when he played as a striker, not sure if he'll be in the same position this time around. With the new bonus point system it's very unlikely he'll get bonus points. Cazorla should do as well as he did last year and the new bonus system favors his playstyle.

Currently on Lukaku but I as the clock ticks the more tempted I am becoming to remove him and go with 0 Chelsea forwards. Hazard + 1 defender will probably be my lot

I really don't see Torres heading to Ecuador so I don't think Lukaku is nailed on to start either game.

I was thinking the same thing maybe Torres will start the first game because he'll be the only one not on international duty, doesn't mean he'll get any points though...

First draft with RVP and Bale...

    Cech (Davies)
    Clyne, Collins, Baker, (Whittaker) (Chester)
    Hazard, Yaya, Bale, Zaha (Delph)
    RVP, Lukaku, Anelka

Obviously need to see how the Bale situation pans out.

    Any thoughts?

DF: Luiz, Lovren, Turner, (Chester, Parr).
MF: Hazard, Snodgrass, Walcott, Nolan, (Colback).
        FW: Rvp, Giroud, Kone.

You just improved your team exponentially!
To have the 5 most expensive defenders in your team is crazy, you must be new to this!
you must of had fun stripping you're defenders and spending the money elsewhere as this is what majority of fpl players do at any chance they get.
You're team is good now! any changes would be for personal preferences..
IE Kone, Nolan, not for me but others would disagree.

i believe kone is gonna rack up some goals, he came with his old boss, he's a guaranteed starter, if you ask me. And much more cost effective to jelavic.
As for Nolan, he's a starter, a regular point getter, and his team might be a force to reckon with this season.

    1. Absolutely
    2. No way I'm getting Soldado
    3. No there are still some better value players to start with
    4. It's highly unlikely that they don't add to their squad but if it happens we'll probably see Wally fielded as a lone forward every now and then
    5. Yes
    6. only if he's nailed-on which is highly unlikely

    Would love a critique...

I am convinced that RVP is essential, even for the first 3 game weeks. IF he bangs 6 goals in for the first 3-4 games, his price will rise, no? My defence is poor, I am looking for nailed on defenders only though. Any advice in this area?

    Mignolet (Davis)
    Collins, Baker, Garrido (Chester, Parr)
    Hazard, Cazorla, Mirralas, Nolan (Pozuelo)
    RVP, Benteke, Lukaku

Probably put Hazard as captain for the DGW.

But he is needed if they are to outdo Barca signing Neymar.
It is important for Real to outspend rivals as they need to be seen as the biggest club in the world.
