11pts lower than the top 10k average is not catastrophic, you can make that back with one good captain choice.
personal banters aside, a very good blog post.
you might not posses the most refined people skills in history, but i enjoy reading your articles 🙂
Who would you x'fer out for Yaya?
A. Siggy
B. Downing.Downing
Neither.
This
This
neither, Siggy if pushed
siggy if you have bony
Other mids are Haz, Sanchez and Boyd, so it's A or B.
No Bony. Aguero, Costa, AustinAguero+Siggy > Bony+Yaya for me later I think
What's 'x'fer'?
Captain next game week
Hazard
Yaya/Dzeko/Sanchez
costa
Mirallas
When do the next price drops happen?
Can I hold my transfers till tomorrow?- Man City defender bonus kings
Just worked out the Baseline BPS/min for City defenders...
Zabaleta = 0.141
Kompany = 0.160
Clichy = 0.189
Demichelis = 0.165
Mangala = 0.139
Kolarov = 0.174
Clichy wins by a distance 😯 Now, I compared Clichy's figure to Azpilicueta's, who was the leading baseline BPS/min magnet earlier in the season...
Clichy = 0.189
Azpilicueta = 0.184
This certainly provides interesting reading. Without Aguero, City may struggle for goals, meaning defenders may be more likely to pick up bonus points. And in the event of a City clean sheet, Clichy looks almost certain to pick up some bonus. These results are a strong argument for investing in the French LB, however rotation with Kolarov looms.
Priced at just 5.4, and with lei, CRY, wba, BUR, SUN over the next 5 weeks, is anyone going for him? Or is the threat of Kolarov enough to put people off?Kolarov is a massive put off for me
this
Clichy will miss at least one of those games imo
Interesting stats, Innsie. If Baines fails the this GW, I might be very tempted to swap for Clichy or Zabaleta, whoever is more nailed-on
I dunno hey. I don't know enough about the Kolarov threat, but it might be worth the risk to go for Clichy over the next 5 or so weeks.
I have Bertrand to sell.I was leaning towards Zaba but if Clichy starts the same amount of games as him (or even one less) then he'll probably provide better value.
He has a decent BAP score according to the spreadsheet too
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/tVeG9FnTOWGPOwf8M7enxkA/htmlview
Mangala beats him though, but his cards, price and lack of starts are worrying.Zabaleta way more nailed on than Clichy. Enough to warrant the extra mill imo.
Zab same as Kompany though, and with Kompany expected back GW20, might as well get him?
4YC and injury prone. Sorry, was comparing Zaba and Clichy.
thanks, didn't realize he's on 4 yellows
By the way, was that counting Zabaleta's goals and assists?
Baseline BPS/min is calculated by getting a players total BPS score and then removing the BPS they got from clean sheets, goals and assists. Then dividing by total minutes played.
Yep, that's what I thought, thanks. Zabaleta does get forward a lot though, so if you count in the assists and goals he scores then I think he will get similar or more BPS than Clichy.
I'm looking at him, but there's currently less than a 50% chance I'll put him in.
Another thing to consider, Kolarov missed 3 games out of the first 9 (before he got injured), whereas Zaba missed 3 (1 being the first game against Newcastle due to the World Cup). So that shows that Zaba is preferred over Sagna, and Kolarov is preferred over Clichy.
I don't think you meant it, but I think that's slightly misleading.
How?
Basically what I was trying to say is when both left backs are fit, Kolarov is slightly favoured. When both right backs are fit, Zaba is slightly favoured.Clichy played more minutes in the first 9 Gameweeks than Kolarov (i.e. before the latter's injury) and started more games.
Did Clichy start vs. Chelsea? If so, Kolarov started 4 out of 9.
Besides, would you prefer Clichy who pretty much shares his position or Zaba who is preferred over Clichy and who is also more attacking?Kolarov started v Chelsea. Clichy started 6 out of the first 9 I believe.
If money was no object I'd probably prefer Zabaleta.Ok. Well that means Kolarov started against Newcastle, Stoke, Chelsea, Villa and Spurs. So he started 5 out of the first 9, so as I mentioned before its pretty even.
I wouldn't touch Clichy now.He didn't play against Spurs.
Sorry, meant West Ham instead of Spurs. That still leaves 5.
13 minute sub appearance. Clichy started.
Ok. Anyways that is 4 out of 9 that Kolarov started, assuming Pellegrini kept up with the pattern he would have started the next one. So as I said before, it is fair to say that share that role.
Do what you want, but due to that I wouldn't touch Clichy. It's fair to say a fit Kolarov is a danger to Clichy's game time. I have to weigh up that risk against my budget, my already strong defensive bench and the tactics I chose for the week. As I said earlier, it's less than 50% likely.
Yeah, that's fair enough. But surely with Aguero funds you are able to fund Zabaleta?
Yes. Plan A is shift Aguero, giving me enough for Zab the following week.
Nice, thats my plan although I may take a hit for Zab this week depending on price changes.
Sorry to comment again but just looked at the spreadsheet Rodallegabomb provided below, and Zabaleta has the highest Baseline BPS against the bottom 13 compared to all other city defenders (except for Mangala, who is not nailed on), and City are playing a lot of those teams in the upcoming month or so.
I guess that provides a clearer picture.I tend to think Mangala is more nailed on than Demi.
Yeah but that is a complete guess. If I were to guess I'd say they will rotate, like all other city defenders bar Kompany lol
Kolarov will take his place. I went with Zaba although I really wanted Clichy
Who to get for kun This week to partner vardy and bony?
Lukaku or Benteke?
I will bring in the other the week after for vards
Cheerslukaku
you have vardy - you dont need our help - might see a professional.
Yeah cheers sports guy. It was an short term plan that turned to crap with all the suspension and injury
KRUL ELLIOT
Baines Terry CHAMBERS Hutton Wisdom

any news on fabianskis appeal ?
Who's seriously considering RvP?

wouldn’t go that far (i’m not btw)

Morning chaps,
Guzan, Krul
Baines, Clyne, Wisdom, Dummett, Moore
Hazard, Sanchez, Siggy, Downing, Boyd
Costa, Kun, Austin.
0.8 ITB and 1FT
A) Kun to Bony
B) Kun to Bony and Siggy to YAYA -4
C) Kun and Boyd to Sakho and YAYA -4
D) Kun and Boyd and Moore to Sakho and YAYA and Clichy -8
E) other?B for me, you'd wanna keep Boyd, otherwise ull just be wasting money on benched players after this week
B
i have exactly the same front 8. Would do B if I could but 0.1 short 🙁
so i will just do A with my 1 FT and see what happensShould have made your changes 6 hours ago, Bony up Aguero down
i know, thanks for reminding me 😉
Those with Naylor and Wisdom, who you starting this week?!
Wisdom
Any reason given spurs poor form and villa's improving form?
Still the easier fixture, I might end up playing both.
Probably Wisdom
Have this problem also. Swans have the better defence and are at home to Spurs who couldn't put one past Palace at WHL. Difficult decision. Leaning toward Wisdom though.
--------------------------- Guzan ------------------------------
---------------- Baines // Clyne // Wisdom ----------------
--- Sanchez // Hazard // Siggy // Eriksen // Boyd ----
---------------------- Aguero // Costa -----------------------
Elliot // Yun // Wasilewski // Austin
Aguero+Siggy > Dzeko+Yaya worth it for a hit?
If not, then what would you do??Yh it's worth it.
Bony + Yaya
Have exact funds for this, reckon that could be a good shout if I'm losing Siggy
Swansea also good fixutres and Bony wway better form than Dzeko... think YAYA is enough MCI?
I really want more City but I'm not sure who to turn to.. I will wait and see after the match tonight, Silva could be back on the radar.. Yaya+Bony .. 2 penalty takers.. i like it
This
Please RMT!
Guzan (Given)
Hutton - Baines - Wisdom/Yun (Duff)
Siggy - Downing - Hazard - Sanchez (Wanyama)
Costa - Aguero - Austin
1FT
1.1m itb.
A - Save Aguero-transfer and put him on the bench
B - Transfer Aguero
C - Transfer other?B, he has to go. Injured for the busiest month of the FPL calendar.
A play naylor
B chambers to zab (-4)
Note: i have moore on the bench which means to bench..I'm in a different situation but considering B, but in your situation A is safer.
Who to bench out of Downing, Sakho and Siggy?
I wouldn't want to bench any. I'd definitely play Downing. Toss up between the others.
Any word on Di Maria's fitness? I was considering using my two free transfers this week to do Chambers and Aguero to Zabaleta and Dzeko, then doing Sigurdsson to Di Maria next week if he's fit.
Aguero to:
A) Costa
B) LukakuI hate owning Lukaku
Costa. He'll be the top goalscorer for the champions. People talk about his points not justifying his price (and you probably wouldn't captain him often) which are fair points but on balance I think he's worth sticking in the team and forgetting about.
Costa.
Wish I haD 2 fts, I can get an 11 out without a hit but am contemplating upto 2:/
Foster
clichy naylor yun ---- chester chambers
siggy hazard sanchez eriksen arfield
rooney kun --- austin
A: Kun + chambers >>> costa + zaba/terry (-4)
B: kun + chmabers >>> costa + Cresswell (-4)...leaves funds to do eriksen >> silva when fit
C: Kun + arfield + chambers >>> kane/sakho/ings + yaya + terry (-8) ---- 352 433 rotation
D: same trade as C without the second hit..will mean I play yun (eve) and maybe chester (che) if clichy doesn't startA or B look good.
I personally would not touch Silva.A looks the simple n straightforward option.
However scared of no city coverage in my team
Morning , any opinions on this lot?
Guzan (Elliot)
Terry Chambers Clyne Wisdom Naylor
Hazard Downing Siggy Wanyama Sanchez
Costa Aguero Berahino.
0 ITB 1FT
Was set on Berahino out but is it worth holding now vs Villa and stick to Aguero out for Rooney. Or venture into Yaya land? Can you afford Aguero+ Berahino > Rooney+ Sakho?
Pantillimon the best replacement for Guzan after this week for a few weeks?
Wouldn't be getting rid of Guzan
this
How's this looking gents?
Forster clyne dummett hutton
Hazard Yaya Siggy sanchez
Lukaka Costa (c)
4.0 chester King Austin
-4 takenYun missing 🙂
Nice.
As good as a lot of us will be with a -4.
True, hence taken a hit. Hopefully Lukaka will justify it
Thoughts on mine below?
Any idea's here?
Guzan
Baines, Azpi, Clyne
Hazard, Sanchez, Downing, Siggy
Aguero, Bony, Austin
McCarthy, Boyd, Duff, Moore £4.0m itb 1ft
My free transfer will be taken up with Aguero > Costa/ RVP, not decided yet.
I was going to go Siggy > Yaya for -4 but Siggy at home against his old club, got a funny feeling about that one.Get costa and yaya
Thanks, drop Siggy or Downing? It's tough. Extra cash dropping Siggy would fix duff or Moore I suppose.
Who would you bench from Boyd, Wisdom or Naylor?!
Was kun expected to drop last night? Thought he was protected.
Protection only occurs when flags change from red to available to play for either after injury or suspension. A red flag just means more transfers out needed.
Thanks TM, didn't know red flag means you needed more transfers out
Thanks
Dzeko or Bony until January?? First to 3
Bony
Bony
I'm going Dzeko. Reasoning:
I already have Yaya and Siggy. Do I prefer to double up with the league's second best team who have one of the most creative players (Silva) to come in with a lovely run of fixtures, or double up on a team with tougher fixtures and a season average of a little over a goal a game?
Bony's been, and will continue to be, a very good goalscorer but things fall slightly more in Dzeko's favour for me. Of course, his fitness is something to worry about.this is why I'm leaning to Dzeko. I think it's the most risk/reward option. If fitness wasn't an issue then Dzeko all day long
Do you think he will start though?
Dzeko played an hour vs Everton so I'd say he's more likely to start than not.
If he starts in the CL midweek, though, that would damage those chances.
edin dzeko by farrrrr due amazing fixtures
bony more nailed on but i dont like their fixturesI'm in the same predicament. very hard decision
Downing and Rooney
Or
Yaya and SakhB, easily.
B
Getting genuine headaches from the options of moves available!
How would you feel with this team?
Foster/Elliot
Clyne/Hutton/NTaylor/ Chambers/Yun
Hazard/Sanchez/Toure/Downing/Siggy
Costa/Bony/Austin
done by
Aguero, Fab and Boyd
to
Bony,Sanchez,Yaya
-4, 1.3m ITB
Any thoughts?Very good move IMO
Thanks, i normally go with the cheap 5th mid option but over xmas with rotation etc dont mind having benching dilemmas.
dzeko instead of bony and would be excellent moves
Im thinking Zab in for Baines,
What you reckon?Would prefer a chelsea defender i think, unless you have one
have azpi
bojan or austin
This week? Bojan. Next week? Austin.
Captain
A) Sanchez
B) yaya
C) hazard
D) Costa
And y?B) Yaya…fixture and form…
