With Gameweek 28 finally coming to its conclusion yesterday afternoon, we take the chance to delve into the data over the 11 fixtures. City’s attackers, Liverpool’s playmaker, a pair of north London midfielders and the Hammers’ lone frontman are all amongst tonight’s topics.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

My thoughts on this one too similar front 8 (I have Caz instead of Hazard) and thinking the same

Wow really nice team. I'm riding it out with Eriksen. Don't have that many options.
          I'd stick with that easily!

          "...the incoming 2 game ban..."?

So you are assuming that Costa and Chelsea don't know he must avoid getting booked twice in the next 4 PL games? Or that they don't realise that if he gets past 12th April he is pretty much safe for the rest of the season? Or that they are idiots?

It may have escaped your attention, but Costa didn't get booked in his last 8 PL games.

Totally agree that talk of an incoming ban is presumtpuous, however your support is equally ignorant (imo of course). Of course even the most inept management teams will advise caution but that in no way nulifies the risk. They would have been in similar situation when he was on 4 yellows...didn't stop him from picking up his 5th and subsequent match ban.

              Bullsh!t.

"...the incoming 2 game ban..." talks about it as if it is a certainty. It is very far from that. It is unlikely.

In addition, it is NOT a similar situation to when he was on 4 yellows. He is more used to the league now and he has a 2-card cushion, not one,

Sanchez Hazard Silva X [Sterling when fixtures are good?]

I think Rodgers should give this a go against Blackburn next time:

    Balotelli Sturridge
    Coutinho/Sterling
    Henderson Gerrard Allen/Lucas
    Moreno/Enrique Sakho/Lovren Skrtel/Toure Johnson/Manquillo
    Mignolet

Plenty of players can get potentially rested then.

I'd just avoid their defense. Has been rare that it's been solid. Too much rotation. Kompany seems like the only one who is a given and he makes me cringe anymore when I watch him.

Just avoid. I've tried to take advantage of their nice fixtures twice: first time zabaleta and now saddled with Clichy. Just a binary string of zeroes and ones to show for it.

Should we start to consider the possibility of selling Aguero. He seems to be less effective with another striker in the team and even Silva is outperforming him. I have Giroud but he isn't giving me a reason to sell. Aguero to Costa might be the best option especially as it would be a straight swap.

If he picked up a few more baps he would be a lot more satisfying. Those 3 points make such a difference.

True, but if he does score he will inevitably get 2/3 baps. That is almost an extra goal compared to Costa. Costa is a great option I just find it annoying

So do I but I'd probably keep Aguero for this week because of fixtures.

I captained Aguero last week but Bony starting had a big effect. Bony was the central striker, Aguero played deeper and wide and most of the City chances that used to fall to Aguero went to Bony instead. Dzeko knows how to play with Aguero. Bony doesn't.

I have a wildcard left and Aguero will leave my team at the latest in GW 34 unless things change. After that I won't want him back.

1 blank after 5 straight weeks of returns & we're already asking questions like this?
      Come'on now...

He's managed 15SiB over his past 6 games & only played an hr in one of them.

Further, City has Bur, Wba, Cpl, Man, Whm, Avl, Tot, Qpr, Swa & Sot to finish out the year... Mmm, tasty! We'd be happy to capt. him for almost all those games.

Also, City won't have any more mid-week commitments either, seeing as they're down 2 away goals to Barca in the CL.

Finally, City cannot afford to rest him at any point down the stretch if they hope to catch Chelsea, right?

      Verdict: kneejerk.gif

I wouldn't sell Aguero when he's about to play Burnley regardless. After that though who knows. If he blanks against Burnley it'd be a serious question for next week.

              First, "Lol sample size".

Next, how did you arrive at this conclusion?

I mean, just look at these stats over the past 4GW's...

              Aguero- 3 goals, 2 assists on 10 SiB & 2 chances created
              Giroud- 3 goals, 0 assists on 10 SiB & 6 chances created
              Costa- 3 goals, 1 assist on 9 SiB & 6 chances created

How do we get that Costa or Giroud have been outright *better*?

Just a simple glance at the comparison tool. Small sample sizes are relevant when a position in the team changes. Bony and Dzeko are having an adverse affect on Aguero.

To begin, it's funny you're still not sharing a link to your team...
I'd suspect someone who knew as much as you did about this game would want to show off just how well they were doing.

Following that, I stand by every comment I made re: Sanchez.

He's not suffered from rotation as he's been started for every game he's been fit. (Can't predict that that he'd take knock in his first game back either, right?)

Moreover, in his last 6 matches he's averaged more than 3 shots per game & created 2 chances per game to boot.

These are spectacular numbers worthy of his lofty price tag.

Finally, I think it's sweet you bookmark my comments & think about me from time to time. Glad you're trying to learn. 🙂

It's different but, is that necessarily worse?

We've already seen Aguero put up massive numbers alongside Tevez, Balotelli, & Dzeko.

So, why not with Bony too?

Seems like selling Kun would be a huge risk. Even when not in top form the points dribble through due to pens and involvement. When on form he goes ballistic. When Man City go ahead they just keep attacking and sometimes you get a cricket score.

I am just outright scared to sell Aguero.

I sold Siggy at a 'dip in form', I sold Costa when Mourinho said he was 'doubtful to play'. For me, learning from those lessons, and knowing how damaging a player Aguero can be, I'm holding on for dear life.

He stays without question for me this week. I need to see more evidence before seriously considering the idea of shipping him. One things for sure though, if it doesn't look good for Aguero statistically compared to Costa, I won't fear making the switch.

Costa just hasn't done well for me this year so I'm not in any rush to get him.

I probably won't be able to resist come the double though so will need to be looking over next few weeks.

I've wildcarded twice this season in order to get Aguero in early so I'm a big fan of him being in my team 🙂

As Ive said here a few days ago, should Costa be available for both, the easiest way to get him in for many would be a straight Aguero swap (and even straight back again if necessary).

      I think,

Since most of have Hazard (or some other Chelsea midfielder), and not that many has Silva (or any other Man City midfielder), it means taking Costa as a replacement for Aguero means,

      1. A plain over reliance on Chelsea's attack, which is a team that has scored 3+ goals only 3 times this season, compared to 5 times of Man City.

      2. If Costa scores a goal, chances are good that it is an assist from either Hazard (or Cesc or Oscar) for most of us.

      So Aguero stays for me.

Yeah, but the ball gets right where he wanted it to go. Sure, it touches an opposing player, but it's a completed pass. If a shot on goal deflects in off someone, it's still a goal. It was just so obviously intentional and set up the goal. The very definition of an assist. Makes me wanna puke.......of course, if he wasn't on my team, I'd be having a good old laugher.

Considering how they often award assists to guys who pass to the assisted, I just think they would give one here. Only thing could be that the ball touched defender in box, but Mix picked it up just outside.

Rochez was a big surprise indeed.
                Morales will come good.
