Dugout Discussion – Arsenal versus Swansea

Gameweek 36 comes to its conclusion tonight as Arsenal host Swansea at the Emirates. After a polished performance at Hull last Monday, the Gunners have now won nine of their last ten league outings, with only a goalless draw against Chelsea temporarily slowing their momentum.

With a double Gameweek against United and Sunderland just around the corner, Fantasy managers are afforded further opportunity to scout Arsene Wenger’s main men this evening.

Alexis Sanchez served up a second double-figure return in four league outings with a brace against the Tigers to persuade over 144,000 FPL managers to snap up his services ahead of this one. The Chilean isn’t the only one worth considering in an attack that looks full of Fantasy potential right now – up top, Olivier Giroud has seven strikes in the last nine, whilst Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla are also jousting for our attention. The Welshman has recovered from a knock sustained at the KC and will surely be set for significant investment on the back of three 10+ hauls in his previous six.

Garry Monk’s men have been in decent form, too. The Swans have won their last two matches since switching to 4-2-3-1, though with Nelson Oliveira missing out through injury tonight, the visitors are without a recognised striker in their starting line-up.

    Sunderland beat Soton and Everton in last two and West Brom got 4 points from Man Utd and Liverpool.

    The race for third is not over, plus they'll have one eye on the cup final.

    I had no keeper playing so got Panti now with my ft.
    Have Sanchez and Kosc from Arsenal and thinking of 3rd...
    A) Henderson -> Cazorla
    B) Fabregas -> Ramsey/Özil
    C) Dont bother getting any of them for a hit

    Who's your best party pooper this year? (team that often surprises you in a bad way...)

    For me it's gotta be WBA, Swansea, Hull and Crystal Palace...I think Swan is the only team that beat arsenal TWICE...

    Next season i will be careful playing against these teams and think twice when i'm going to bench their players...

    I'm seriously considering:

    Giroud + Hendo > Defoe + Ramsey (-4)

    Yay / Nay ?

      I would keep Giroud now you have him, Ramsey could get rotated with Wilshere. Can you swap your other striker to Defoe though?

    Monk should definitely get some credit for motivating his players after a few bad results.

    He mentioned he was setting new targets for his players every week. Good to see teams like this still fighting on til the end. Can't say the same about Southampton and Spurs.

    Is anyone else worried that Giroud is at risk for the DGW after blanking a few?

      Think it was always a worry to be honest. Don't think he's any more or less likely to get rested now

    G'day guys.

    I'm a FPL newbie, started off badly in my leagues (especially around Xmas) but found this site and been rising ever since. Went from near bottom to top 10 in both leagues I'm apart of. So thanks guys!

    Trying to keep the momentum up.

    Current Team:

    Panti (Krul)
    Pva Huth Terry (Skrtel Dawson)
    Albrighton Sanchez (C) Hazard Henderson (Puncheon)
    Kane Giroud Aguero

    0.5 ITB, IFT. Thinking Skrtel> Bellerin. Punch> Gomez?
    Or should I try getting Ramsey in (somehow)

      Nice to see some thanks, usually it's just moaning about people not having crystal balls 🙂

      I wouldn't worry too much about crowbarring Ramsey into your team at this point if it's going to require multiple hits.

      Additionally I don't think your potential transfers are worth -4. Maybe just do the Bellerin move

    Does anyone have this horrible feeling that Arsenal will crash and burn at United as well makign the DGW a bit void?

      attacking wise should be better..dont think utd and sunderland can provide much to stop arsenal from scoring. they should not do a pool i think...the lack of midfield options also make it safer to load on arsenal players

    Sorry if I've missed something, but why is Hazard so certain to be rested? I saw the hot topic, but nobody seemed to talk about Hazard giving way back then.
