The Numbers Game – 2014/15 Review – Swansea City

After stepping in as a caretaker manager following the sacking of Michael Laudrup, Garry Monk eventually guided Swansea to a 12th place finish in the 2013/14 season, and was handed the job on a permanent basis ahead of the 2014/15 campaign. The former captain went about rebuilding his squad, with Lukasz Fabianski, Federico Fernandez, Jefferson Montero, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafetimbi Gomis amongst the notable arrivals. Many of the Spanish contingent at the Liberty departed, though, with Chico Flores, Pablo Hernandez and Michu (on loan) all leaving the club, while Michel Vorm and Ben Davies joined Tottenham.

In this members article, we take a detailed look at Monk’s first full season in charge, analysing the chief goal threats and creators as the Swans recorded a record points total (56) and highest Premier League finish of eighth under the rookie manager.

Yeah I like it. I've kept Schmichael but removed Huth as I'm coming around to the idea that Leicester, following the removal of Pearson and Cambiasso, aren't going to have the same dynamic/style of play going into the new season.

I think Francis is worth a shout at 4.5 instead.

Good Balance. Except for Huth, I'd prefer Morgan or Schlupp.

If you could bring in one of Aguero or Sanchez when 100% fit, which one's best? Surely you cannot have both + Hazard?

I want Sanchez badly but it has to be Aguero I think.

I'd go for Aguero.. Last year benefited Sanchez (played as striker) due to the absence of Giroud.

Morning all. The BBC Football webpage has a decent analysis of UTD s probable team vs Spurs. I know we get a look at the line ups due to the Fri night kick off, though it may help with long term planning.
    Hope this helps.

    A). Morgan - Walcott - Wilson

    B) Wisdom/O'Shea - Ki S.Y - Kane

    Your thoughts plz?

Going without aguero, hazard and Sanchez for a more balanced squad feeling like the right thing but it feels like a massive risk
