Everton and Chelsea beckon in the return of Premier League football following the two-week interlude. Both sides are searching for just their second win of the campaign, with the Blues reeling after their second home defeat under Jose Mourinho last time out.
The Toffees will be content with their start to the campaign – given that their only loss came at the hands of an effervescent Manchester City outfit – but keen to enhance their goal threat. Only Sunderland (18) and Newcastle United (13) fashioned fewer shots inside the box than Everton across the first four Gameweeks, which bodes well for Chelsea’s clean-sheet prospects.
As for Mourinho’s men, they’ve made the second-worst start to a title defence in Premier League history, conceding more goals (nine) than every team bar Sunderland (10). To further underline their troubles at the back, the Champions’ have conceded three more big chances (13) than any outfit, encouraging Everton to go on the attack from the get-go.
