The ScoutCast – Episode 168 – Casual

What makes a “casual” ScoutCast host? Perhaps one who takes to his bed even after a table topping 60-point return?

Despite bringing in his biggest haul of the season, leaving both Jonty and myself in his wake, Granville’s man-flu gets the better of him. Not to worry, Luke, aka “D1sable”, drops in to fill his evening slippers, helping steading the ScoutCast ship as we prepare to cross the choppy waters of another community fueled episode.

Luke and I look on enviously while Jonty gets dewy eyed about Dimiti Payet’s Monday night returns, before we switch attention to the fortunes of the Fantasy Football Scout crowd, scanning their Gameweek tallies in another bout of “Rough with the Smooth”, which this week includes a precautionary tail of a Fantasy Football rage injury.

We round off, as always, with another bout of community questions, assessing the lure of the five-man midfield, strikers and their desperate quest for bonus points, the great “casual” debate, whilst entertaining the idea of making Kolarov our captain. The season could hardly be more bizarre.

Ok, after musing for the last few days I'm doing Shaw -> Dawson and holding Pedro. This may change post Mourinho's press conference but I like the player and I think people are jettisoning him too quickly ahead of great fixtures.

most people seem to be going dawson rather than the cheaper evans - whats the reasoning?

I went for Evans. Most ppl believe Evans is more likely to get injured.

im also going evans but mainly because it leaves me .5 ITB to upgrade another 4.5 to 5 at some point (probably get dawson then!)

I just think Ayew is a much more rounded player, and superior goalscorer. Swansea as an attacking outfit are better than Stoke too.

Turns up against the big sides too. Seen little of Stoke to suggest they're all that in attack. Still a way to go with their new signings fitting in

Thanks thats really helped. It helps also in my mini leagues no one has Ayew.

I'm thinking of doing Pedro to Ayew this week and drafting in Costa to get Chelsea attacking coverage.

Took on being manager of my sons U15's team this year. It's ok but the number of hoops the FA has us jumping through is ridiculous (Just had yet another email stating that they will fine managers for not marking out a technical area).

Do these folk not understand that the harder they make it for folk to volunteer, with never ending rules, the more likely it is that they decide not to bother..?

Yep. Same for every team in the country. Not only that but specific dimensions.

5mts x 2mts and 10 mts apart either side of the half way line. Non compliance results in a ten quid fine.
        Ridiculous.

Jesus that's sad. Reckon you could get your league to write to the FA? The FA really should be making grass roots football as easy as possible not taking money from it and certainly not for things like that.

like said in the scout cast... i have capt'd him for so long.... i feel i need to stick with him... he always does better at home and someone with aguero skill and class is bound to hit form.... and the one week we decide to go maverick is the hatrick week.

whilst the stats and fixtures are good for him.... i'll keep captaining him

Whichever good defender works best with your other defs in terms of rotation. Without knowing that, its hard to reccomend any, but Nyom, Prödl and Dawson are all pretty safe bets.

i'm going 3-5-2 this GW and he'll be on the bench. Next up for Arsenal after Chelsea is Leicester away and strong possibility benched with Walcott ahead of him. After that Arsenal host United. Think his price may drop further by then.

Just don't want to take a -4pt hit to ship him out this week, when i can do it next GW for a free.
