    Having played both FPL and NFL fantasy (season long not daily gamblin...uh fantasy), I much prefer the FPL game. I will say thought, the NFL beat reporters and journalist are vastly more superior in the reporting of injuries and last minute knocks than their PL counterparts.

    If an NFL player was seen hobbling or even walking gingerly during the last practice of the week, it would be ALL over social media within minutes, leaving plenty of time for fantasy managers to make adjustments. Yet in the case of Lanzini (who suffered a small knock on Friday), I do not see nor read a thing from anywhere, until the team sheet was released.

    It's all part of the game and I accept that. Just wondering why.

      There's very little press/public access to training in the UK. If you played Bundesliga Fantasy I'm sure you'd get much better reports with most clubs holding public training sessions regularly.

      Tactics/lineups are so much more important in football though as only 3 subs a match, so secrecy is massive.

        Yes, completely understand the managers point of view of not wanting to give any advantage to his counterpart. I was coming more from the perspective of the press, who are neutral in the matter, and have no stake in keeping things secretive. Balders clarified that above.

    Yes I am definatley a "casual " , yes i'm a no Grav , no i didnt pay the membership ! Yes i might be ranked at 558,758 ! I started fiollowing FFS at the tail end of last season , at first i thought i'd maybe get a bit a of good advice ,and in full fairness i did. I thought i was the only one one who checked there score 7 days a week knowing full well it hadnt changed. Then i watched a scoutcast in its entierity(and told told the missus ill be in bed in a minuite) and realised i might be a bit more in to this than i first thought ! FPL wouldnt be the same to me without FFS! Kingkolrov your number one fan !

                        Given the haul a Mahrez captaincy would give you, the players may only need to be in the top 200,000 potentially to sail past me, particularly if combined with a Utd defender.

                        Mahrez 1.3 in top 10K and 2.4 overall made some dent. Would probably add Ozil and Vardy so a basic score of 60 for those.

                        That's 130 people in the top 10k and ~84,000 in the game as a whole. That's not enough to make a huge change to the overall average, but is a large group of people who could be seeing a potentially large jump in rank.

                        You can always find a near grey arrow in your rank range. I always add 2/3 to the top 10K for a green arrow ranking.

            looks like New Zealand will take it.

            In summary:
            - Australia are 29 points behind
            - The difference between both teams (cancelling out those similar players) is that NZ has more players in quantity to play, but we have more attacking midfielders and forwards than NZ.
            - For us to win, we have to see Liverpool and Palace not having a CS.
            - Lukaku, Barkley and especially Deulofeu must score.

        Newcastle may throw a curve into everyone's plans. I'm interested to see how they do against Liverpool. When there are rumours of the manager getting sacked, they will either respond, or fold like a deck chair.
        I haven't watched them much this year, but the one match I did see was against Chelsea, where they showed quite a lot of fight.

          There are many good players around that level. Myself , Jonty , Mark and many many more. Partly because of all the chip users making progress slow and partly because of the topsy turvy season

            I think it has more to do with heavily owned players doing so well consistently. Mahrez, Vardy being at the center of it. Need some differentials but you can hardly drop any of the heavily owned players for a risk with their form. Just have to keep going on like this I guess.

        That's the thing, I'm way off top 10k and seems like you are too. Need to have an extraordinary GW to gain rank. Decent GW scores are out of fashion it seems. Have one bad GW and you start from rock bottom. Weird season this.

              All pretty close in the top 500K. One mistake and you pay the price. It's pretty hard to keep up with the top 10K average weekly.

      Just get Stanislas. Cheap as chips and plays further forward. Honestly, I wouldn't want my cheap 5th mid to score big week in week out, as I'd regret benching hum every week. This is why I got Gosling. Plays regularly and no regret in benching him every GW.

        I play with a fifth mid. id rather he scored on my bench then not score at all . Two reasons , if he scoring hes going up in value thus helping my team in general and if he wasnt scoring then id have to change him. im new to this ffs i only got a grav tonight but surley thats right !

    I'm allergic to having 5 mids as it often leads to benching headaches. I'd downgrade coq to a 4.3-4.5 and use the funds to upgrade elsewhere, personally.

          Money isnt to much of an issue. Just want to free up my Arsenal spot so can do Mane>Ramsey if I dont want Coutinho.

          Have Aguero kane lukaku so not a lot of cash around compared to others but dont mind stretching to a player that has more potential such as lanzini or king
