It was another weekend of the Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic show but would that help the Scouts with their Gameweek 2 predictions? We’re about to find out.
Captain Sensible
After a first week Fantasy Premier League score of nine points, Aguero was once again top of the pile for Captain Sensible. The match against Stoke saw the Argentinian net two more goals to take his tally to three in just two Gameweeks, as well as finishing on maximum bonus. With a score of 13 for the week he was a great choice and another success for Captain sensible.
Next on the list was Dimitri Payet who didn’t play any minutes in the match against Bournemouth. It was then onto Harry Kane in third place who managed to get an assist in the 1-0 win against Crystal Palace, leaving him on 5 points for the week.
Aside from Aguero the only other player on the list with a score of note was Ibrahimovic who matched Aguero’s score of 13. After only making eighth place on the list we may see him creep up the rankings going forward with a match against Hull at the KCOM stadium up next and penalties now seemingly in his locker too.
That now gives Captain Sensible a maximum score from its two picks so far this season.

Spot the Differential
This week, Spot the Differential went with two midfielders in the form of Raheem Sterling (8.0) and Matt Phillips (5.5) as well Swansea striker Fernando Llorente (6.5).
With an assist in Gameweek 1, Sterling has probably been a little overlooked as a Fantasy Premier League prospect and is currently owned by just 3.8% of FPL managers. After a fairly poor season in 2015/16, Sterling seems rejuvenated under Pep Guardiola. Against Stoke he was able to set up Nolito for a goal and now has two assists in as many games. While Sterling is currently lacking in chances created (2) and goal attempts (3) for the season he is getting plenty of touches in the penalty area (23) and will hopefully start to become more of a threat as the Manchester City attack begins to click.
After totalling 13 goal attempts in their opening game against Crystal Palace the Scouts decided to opt for Phillips with a home fixture against Everton. After playing 64 minutes, Phillips was substituted after failing to create any chances and having just a single goal attempt. The next three games for West Brom see them play Middlesbrough, Bournemouth and West Ham up so investment in the Scotsman may still pay off but I would personally like to see a bit more from West Brom before investing in their attackers.
Llorente was picked for a match against a Hull side that were written off before even kicking a ball this season. With caretaker manager Mike Phelan at the helm, Hull are tougher opponents than we might have imagined. Swansea would have been hoping for something from this game but were left with a 2-0 loss. Llorente ended up on 2 points and with Leicester, Chelsea, Southampton, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal as the next six fixtures for The Swans he’s probably not going to make his way into many of our teams.

Scout Picks
With matches against Southampton and Stoke, the Scouts opted for two heavy hitters to lead the line in their picks. Like Llorente in the differential picks Swansea were backed again with Sigurdsson getting a spot in the three-man midfield. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to net any points and finished on a paltry 2 points. Following Payet’s absence from the West Ham starting XI it was left up to Hazard to bring home the points for the midfield selections and he duly assisted with four points.
At the back Valencia picked up a clean sheet, although it was his counterpart on the left flank, Luke Shaw who picked up the attacking returns and in turn two bonus points. Kyle Walker picked up a yellow card but was still able to net two bonus points to finish on seven points for the week. For the second consecutive week David Moyes’ Sunderland side conceded but the man who finished on six goals last season was able to pop up with a goal once again. This meant Patrick van Aanholt finished on nine points and could see his 6% ownership increase in the next couple of weeks.

Scoutcast – Clean Sheets
After a poor performance last week, myself and Mark were able to chalk up our first points on the board. With seven clean sheets in total across the 10 games this week there were plenty to choose from, but unfortunately Jonty and Granville are still yet to score.
Jonty – West Brom – Total points 0
Mark – Spurs – Total points 1
Andy – Man United – Total points 1
Granville – Swansea – Total points 0
Scoutcast – Fantasy Island Risk
It was slim pickings again this week with not one of the Scoutcasters netting a single goal, assist or clean sheet. Let’s hope Gameweek 3 will produce something a little more exciting.
Jonty – Rondon (2) – Total points 4
Mark – Januzaj (2) – Total points 4
Andy – Arnautovic (2) – Total points 7
Granville – Routledge (1) – Total points 2
