Mondogoal GW 33 – £30,000 Contest Latest

The Fantasy Football Scout lineup was pipped at the post in last weekend’s Mondogoal contests, earning second and third placings – this despite backing the Crystal Palace points avalanche at Sunderland.

Yannick Bolasie and Glenn Murray combined to earn us almost half of our 106.90 points total but that wasn’t enough to deny Mondogoal heavyweight, “ChrisDAFC”. He earned his sixth spot in Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship via his 112.97 haul and also edged past us in the special West Ham Awards Dinner contest.

Chris now looks well set up to compete for the big final day prize but we’ll be locking horns with him again this week in our quest to earn a qualifying spot to take him on.

The £30,000 World Championship

How Does it Work?

So far, over 100 qualifiers have now gone forward to the final Gameweek contest. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select your line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

The more you lay down with your stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five competing in the £50 stake contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button.

Having multiple teams will obviously increase your outlay but, with the ability to block out defences, you’ll certainly be increasing your chances of hitting a big score.

Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

FF Scout Gameweek 33 Picks

mg

Despite their miserable form and defeat at Old Trafford, we’ve gambled on building our current selection around Man City’s Etihad encounter with West Ham.

City have a point to prove and the Hammers look to be the perfect opposition to aid their recovery. Sam Allardyce’s men are also in a malaise and have little to play for. With that in mind, we’ve backed a City clean sheet and are putting faith in David Silva and Sergio Aguero to pepper Adrian’s goal and emerge with points aplenty.

That investment in City has forced us to discount Eden Hazard for the first time in over a month. The Belgian has been a Mondogoal mainstay for us but, with the Stamford Bridge clash with United looking hard to call, we’ve chosen to look elsewhere.

Palace’s form guys – Glenn Murray and Yannick Bolasie earn predictable places in our squad. To be fair, after last weekend, we almost feel obliged to retain their services.

The selection of Everton trio Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman and Aaron Lennon might surprise a few, although the Toffees clearly offer the potential of a clean sheet at home to a shot-shy Burnley. Coleman and Baines bristle with attacking threat, while Lennon is a livewire on the flank with two goals and an assist in his last four.

Free-scoring Leicester City help to complete our XI. While Jamie Vardy earned the plaudits for his at-the-death winner at the Hawthorns, we’ve gone for the cheaper option of David Nugent. He may lack Vardy’s energy and pace, but Nugent certainly has the craft to play a key role in the Foxes vital home clash with Swansea – he’s also expected to be on spot-kicks. Back in midfield, Marc Albrighton is our budget enabler: a surprise starter last time out, we’d expect him to retain his spot in the Leicester lineup and, at just 4.4 million, we have to gamble on his selection.

We’re expecting to tinker further. Crucially, with no early kick-off on Saturday, we’ll have a view on the teamsheets from a quartet of three o’clock matches before submitting our final squad. Mondogoal’s weekend contests will close at 2.55pm on Saturday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Need one more player to field 11. Any of these stand out to you?

    Fabregas, Bolasie, Murray, Vardy

Cheers. Think I'm looking at Fabregas mostly due to all the money I have tied up in Sanchez.

Having said that, Carrick out is a big blow for United.

going without 3 from the best team in the league in a DGW with a WC is not an option

          Unless u are selling silva...hazard silva + 2 more
is either fab+ pool mid or 2 pool mid

Being the best team in the league is not the same as getting the most FPL pts ay any given time. Chelsea may well take the cautious approach over the next three. so MFB may well be right...or maybe not. They hardly looked inspiring the last time they played.

On wildcard. Pick two out of Kane, Vardy and Murray.
week 33 Kane (new), Vardy (SWA), Murray (WB)
week 34 Kane (sou), Vardy (bur, CHE), Murray (HUL)

I'm leaning towards Kane and Murray. One of them will be benched in week 34 (probably Kane). And one of them will become Giroud after week 34 (probably Murray).

Or should I dump one for Vardy? Thoughts? Thanks!

    1. davies

Very awkward to get an idea of it, if I'm honest, with the change in formations.

In a back four - Vardy plays LW and Nugent in the hole.
In a back three - they both play up top with the main striker (Ulloa/Kramaric)

Vardy, for me. Again, difficult to tell. He's been our penalty taker for a long time but it wouldn't surprise me to see Kramaric/Cambiasso take one. I'll give Nuge the benefit of the doubt with penalties and say he's still on them.

I don't see the Cambiasso love, myself.

He's a renowned defensive-midfielder who has scored 4 goals from 5 shots on target all season. Mahrez was the Leicester player to get, before his dip in form.

I think you've either got to look at Schmeichel, Morgan/Schlupp or Nugent/Vardy.

    DDG (CHE) Myhill (CRY)

Silva (WHU) Hazard (MUN) Eriksen (NEW) Sterling Tiote
    Kane (NEW) Remy (MUN) Giroud

Vardy has another three assists in FPL terms.

12 attacking returns in 19 starts for a struggling team, now on the attack, and coming into form.

    Hi All,

    Keep: Davis K.
Def: Rose - Bertrand - Terry
Mid: Mane - Eriksen - Walters - Hazard - Silva
    Att: Remy - Kane

Bench: Mignolet - Sturridge - Belerin - Monreal

    0 FT's & 3.6 million ITB.

I feel as though Mane, Remy and Sturridge are all risky, but is it worth it to take hit(s) to get them out? If so, when?

Otherwise I can take Mane/Erik out next week with the FT to bring in L’pool midfielder. If so, who?

    Thanks!

That's what a DGW will do

are you saying only get 2 from Leicester?

          Schmeichel and Nugent/Vardy

can't wrap my head around Kasper AND a defender

            Schemichel and Vardy seems logical.

              unless Kramaric suddenly pops up

any further news on him starting?

I'll get Chester over a LEI defender

DGW, good fixtures, fighting for survival, very attacking atm.

      Makes sense to me 🙂

It's that time in the season. Players from clubs who have something to fight for/play for are the better options.

Anyone saw Scout Andy? He was ultimate regular in the past. Genuine Lei fan, I think his thoughts would be more than appreciated.

    2FT, 04.m ITB

    Krul (Guzan)
    Terry Clyne Allerweild Dawson (Naughton)
    Hazard Silva Eriksen (Sanchez Boyd)
    Aguero Remy Kane

    Which move?

    (A) Eriksen and Naughton to Henderson and Skrtel (means I have to play Boyd over Eriksen this week)
    (B) Naughton to Schlupp
    (C) Other

For option A I'll still have 11 on the field this week.

If Kramaric starts and scores this weekend the LEI striker bandwagon for next week might well shift

Won't alter Nugent / Vardy starting though....will just mean Ulloa isn't an option any longer!

no but it adds an extra option and Kramaric is possibly better than both

He's a genuine goalscorer. A nailed Kramaric would make things interesting in this Leicester - love in.
