Ahead of this weekend’s fourth round stage of our two Premier League cup competitions, we look back at the events of the previous clashes and some of the most eye-catching match-ups.
Mark is now the only surviving former winner in our open to all cup after seeing off tkmlim 72-65 in round three. He next faces What Divock?!, who defeated reigning champion A Manager Has No Name.
Joining him through the exit door is Wild Rover, who was crushed 90-70 by the contest’s highest-ranked manager 50th-placed pitstop1.
The unlucky boss to next face pitstop1 is The Shaman, who is ranked just 373,401.
Another former winner to fall was Donnellyc, who was dispatched by Who Divock Is Origi.
Joining Mark as other representatives of our live Hall of Fame top ten in the next round are Dronny Imp (aka David Meechan), whose score of 92 was enough to beat Jurgen Can Karius and set himself up a match against Quinntessentials.
Another elite manager to prevail is My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg), who scored 89 in his victory over Prophet and next takes on Donnellyc’s conqueror Who Divock Is Origi
The full fourth round draw can be found here.
In our Members Cup Fenghh, who beat former winner Trigg in round two, makes it through to the fourth round after defeating 2,208-ranked christian steinbauer.
But things do not get any easier for our 36,596-placed giant killer as he now faces the competition’s top-ranked manager Hana, who is 170th in the world.
Elsewhere in the round four draw, community regulars RoysCallerAnne and Dr Ennet face each other, with the former’s 829 rank making him the favourite over his 19,528-placed opponent.
There will also be a community writers derby when Career Hall of Fame analyst TopMarx takes on Kryten, who has written extensively on bandwagons and the effect of European cup involvement on Premier League teams. With a rank of 13,069, compared to Kryten’s placing of 27,609, TopMarx is the slight favourite for this battle of the scribes.
The full fourth round draw can be found here.
There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.
