Gameweek 5 concludes at Old Trafford as Manchester United’s Fantasy assets bid to end our weekend with a series of hauls.
Romelu Lukaku is undoubtedly the big draw. Still by far the top player, he remains part of 2.8 million squads and is backed by 1.4 million with the captaincy (30.1%).
However, having been the dominant captain all season, his Gameweek 5 support is at its lowest since the opening weekend of the season when he was backed by 28% of managers.
In addition, despite scoring six goals in six outings in all competitions, Lukaku’s ownership continues to slide.
The Belgian suffered a net loss of 72,000 owners ahead of Friday’s deadline and has so far been sold by another 38,000 managers before kicking a ball in Gameweek 5. Over 28,000 of those managers have made the move to Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, with the Argentine’s hat-trick putting real pressure on Lukaku today. Fail to deliver returns and sales will surely pick up pace.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan also needs to produce.
The Armenian has been the major benefactor in FPL terms from Paul Pogba’s injury, gaining more than 321,000 new owners – second only to Spurs’ Ben Davies for Gameweek 5.
But following the 11-point tally from City’s David Silva in yesterday’s 6-0 win at Watford, Mkhitaryan owners will be keen to see their man produce a return without the influence of Pogba alongside him.
