The Big Numbers – Gameweek 13

A Gameweek tainted by no less than three 0-0 stalemates still saw several protagonists produce strong statistical shifts. Jordi Gomez and Stephane Sessegnon led the way in our ICT Index rankings and are amongst the players picked out in this week’s Big Numbers, our summary of some of the key stats on show from the weekend’s action…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Its not like he played badly or didn't have chances in the last 2, he could have easily got some points. They've gotta go in at some point and WHM were poor against Spurs this week

Do we think Chicharito will start this week?
Cos if he is I'm captaining RvP and if he isn't I'm captaining Rooney.

    Morning Guys,

Any advice on what to do to my team with my FTs this week:

    Begovic
    Baines - Cameron - Cuellar
    Bale - Valencia - Ramirez - Pienaar
    RVP (C) - Tevez - Ba

    Henderson - Hughes - Demel - Noble

Got 2FTs, 0.0m in the bank. Need to change Valencia I think, but no money and don't want to downgrade Baines until next week (plan next week is Baines ---> Gibbs, & Tevez ----> Suarez).

    Any ideas welcome.

If he missed out vs West Ham midweek my bench is terrible:

        Hughes - Chelsea away
Demel - United away (probably be sub)
        Noble - suspended

Am considering Noble ------> Gera. Straight swap, same price.

2 terrible weeks. For this week, stick or twist?

    Begovic (Jaask)
    Baines/Cuellar/Davies (Demel/Gorkss)
    Mata/Bale/Fellaini/Sterling (Nolan)
    RVP (c)/Tevez/Giroud

Do I use the free transfer? And bench Nolan or Sterling? And is sticking with RVP as captain still the sensible idea? Thanks for your help.

I think there will be a lot of points this week. I would personally sell Nolan and bring in Adam Johnson (good fixtures). West Ham have a difficult run coming up.

As far as RVP is concerned., it's a real tricky one. You should sell him, but he's the type of striker that once you do, he will return double figures week in week out.

I hope not. I was scaling the heights of 4,000 in the world two weeks ago (13,000 isn't too bad though).I always panic in these situations and make rash transfers, so I'm trying to be careful. No need to get rid of any of them (aside from Demel, and probably Baines). I know if I get Suarez in he'll get suspended immediately. Lots of think about.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to stick with Robin (c), he's got WHM/rdg next two. If he doesn't do anything in those two... I hope he knows he's playing for his place in my team.

Which combination would get your vote, through to Jan WC?

    A) Cameron, Ridgewell, Enrique + Sess
    B) Garrido, McAuley, Wisdom + Silva

Keepers are Jussi/Bego and otherdefenders Cuellar/Mertesacker (full team linked).

Finding this a tough one (not on WC just deciding my first move)! Cheers

This in terms of Sess and his two shots on target the whole season. This is exactly one of those cases where stats can be misleading at times. I remember getting impressed by Sess in the MOTD highlights vs. Everton. Even saw about 30 minutes of that game and Sess looked really dangerous and got into some really good positions. He had to chances on goal which he scuffed i think so that wont show, but in general i saw him playing far up the pitch and beginning to look dangerous, which happened against vs. Fulham (where he looked less dangerous). In fact, i bought Sess more because of the Eve game compared to the goal at Fulham.

Just a case of stats, being important, can be misleading at times. That is my only point.

I think Baines is gonna be one of the top scoring defenders at the end of the year, but if you look at the stats, it makes you feel as if he is what C.Ronaldo was in your midfield.

But he is not that important/essential. You can do well with/without him.

        Already have Fellaini.

People say DGW as if its a guarantee for points but I think STO, WHM, NOR and qpr in the next 6 are just as good fixture wise

Did you watch Morrison play yesterday. Four goals and did not involve in all goals. Gera was playing in the hole. Morrison was playing at the place of let's say Scholes. 🙂 It is a concern.

I'd be concerned about Morrisons position. Clarke was raving about Gera playing in the hole after the game. Could be set for a run there.

Morning gents. Only just got to look at my scores after a rugby fuelled weekend!

Literally flipped a coin on Saturday morning to go for Sess or Young as a punt. It really didn't work out!

Should I bite the bullet and remove Young already or keep for WH?

    Mata - Bale - Fell - Sterling - Punchy
    Suarez - Rvp - Rooney

I have 2FT + 0.4 burning a hole, and this to play with:

    Krul Mignolet
    Cameron Caulker Fonte Rafael Baines
    Lallana Sterling Michu McAnuff Fellaini
    RVP Ba Suarez

Looking at doing Michu > Bale via Ba > Long this week, then shipping Fellaini (tough fixtures..) to Sess for a couple of weeks til after the DGW.

Youre midfield does seem a little light in there. So getting Bale or equiv is a good idea.

Well they already discussed him last scoutcast and they've made it clear - it doesn't matter what his actual returns are in any given gameweek, his *potential* returns always make him a season keeper.

Interestingly, Chris Glover has weighed into the argument with this little snippet:

"... unless you're one of the 25% managers who believe Baines is worth 3m more than some of the other solid defensive players around (I'm not)."

Oops, I promised no more about Lord Leighton this week. That's it from me, finito.
