The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety One – Honeytrap

Granville loves a double Gameweek. He circles them like a fly around honey, so often falling for their hollow promises and duplicitous charm. Will Gameweek 16 be any different? Certainly my esteemed rival has the momentum; after closing our mini-league gap to just three points, Granville is in confident mood as we chew the fat on the this week’s double header, lament the Baines phantom injury and the not-so-phantom Bale affliction.

The regulars are present and correct, as we chat Michu, Fellaini and Suarez vs Ba in “all aboard”, preview the rest of the weekend fixtures, tamper with the failing ScoutCast team and reveal a new arrival in our members area for the New Year.

Buzz round this latest temptation via this link or use the player below the stream the sweetness.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

ok for anyone still awake, I have something of a dilemma over Bale

He doesn't look like dropping before deadline so I can afford to bench him this week.

    Do I

    a) Get Clint in now, even though the have Everton away?

    b) Save the FT, bench Bale, and get Clint in next week for SWA, when I will need him as Ramirez has a blank?

I am doing the same, with Puncheon my fill in this week for Bale. Will save the transfer for any potential doomsday news for this Gw if he is not going to drop with his red flag. Isn't this the kind of Gw you have cheap fifth mids for?

Now the general consensus is that Man City will rotate because they are out of CL/ECL.

Agree. Starting to think that, for the money outlay for the likes of Tevez/Aguero up front, its not worth the rotation risk. Especially given the that there are very good alternatives in Defoe, Berbatov, Ba, Suarez etc - Cheaper and locked in the starting XI

Sess. Better fixtures, better position, more secured playtime, better chance of clean sheets.

I bought Bale for 9.5 should I take a hit to get rid, otherwise I'll just play Sterling.

I pulled it 😀 I figure I can live to have one of them on the bench for one week. Not ideal, but the potential for points was too strong of a temptation to resist.

If he just plays 60+ in both games I bet he's better than the captain choice in half their games so far.

guess i'm gonna field my team this way and wait for the auto subs to come in later, at least that might make me go up in the ranks at some point of the GW 😀

It would be an obvious choice but I just wonder about the double. I'd do Sess > Fellaini straight away next week, but then transfers are at a premium. Hmmmm, thanks for the input

Is it worth a hit to do Walcott to Cazorla, meaning id bench Clyne(REA) or Morrison(ars)

A flight delay? is it like half an hour or something? doubt they'd postpone a game unless it was like a a whole day

If you had to choose between one of these 2 for a hit...?

    Walcott >> Dempsey

    Riether >> G Johnson

Which one would it be ?

You don't think G Johnson is more of a goal and assist threat ? The stats favour Glen, but Enrique has been looking dangerous recently.

I think at RB & LB they are equal in terms of going forward, but Enrique has the added benefit of playing LW for a few games, that's why i'd chose him if i were you

Play Rafael or Garrido? Bench one of Michu, Fellaini, Silva, Cazorla, Puncheon. Assuming Silva is fit, do I bench Puncheon? He has Reading at home.

If you can't play Punch at home to Reading when can you play him ?

But saying that I wouldn't play him ahead of the other 4 mids.

I hate the saying 'if you can't play a player vs.... when can you play him'

It doesn't take anything else into context.. If you have Puncheon at home vs Reading and Bale at home vs anyone, it's obvious you'd chose Bale (because he's the better player)

I am closer to making a decision this week and leaning on bringing in McAnuff this week over Robsn-Kanu and Sess. My rationale is that he will be my 5th midfielder going forward until the January WC. This way i will not have to waste a FT getting him out in the next month. Further RK will be fighting to keep his starting role with Kebe returning

That said, RDG do have decent fixtures over the Xmas program and he is nailed on. Imho a strong bench is essential during that period.

    Make sense?

yes. I dont like bringing players in for 1 week, even if its double (sess). Fifth mid needs to be nailed on because you need to know he'll be there if someone is rotated or rested. I like mcanuff good transfer

Yes good decision, that 'saved' transfer by not having to ship him out should pay dividends over a likely busy Xmas program with plenty more injuries.
