The ScoutCast – Episode 130 – Hangout

The ScoutCast revolution is here. Not content with having to ensure our voices are up to scratch, Granville and myself decide to risk ridicule and stream our first live Google Hangout version, putting our hairlines and choice of décor on the line.

Having embarked on this brave new world, it also made sense to shake up the content so we welcome back Jonty to fire us a whole host of questions from the community and introduce some special guests along the way. We start this week with none other than the world’s top Fantasy Premier League manager – Luke Weston is in the house to rub shoulders with mediocrity and field our inquisition.

If you missed the live stream, you can catch the full “warts and all” hangout version via the player below or, if you’re a traditionalists, you can help yourself to the regular edited podcast version via this link or stream it via the first player.

PS: Apologies that we focus the camera on Granville and then myself – this is down to human error rather than our huge egos. With our ranks, we’d rather have been off camera.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

That's the worry.....problem is those two always seem to be a sub in the game.

Play Chambers and if he doesn't start hope he doesn't come on for an injured/pants Clyne.

Or play Chambers, and hope he's subbed at 61mins with a CS.

        Or look elsewhere...

I don't think you need the Rooney move. You will be taking a hit and Lukaku is imo as likely to score as many points as Rooney. Rooney may not play 90 mins. I really think that is a transfer that is better doing for free next week.

      getting in

              2-0 West Ham.

It's written in the stars man.

You know, the last time it was Good Friday on the 18th of April, West Ham were actually playing against Palace, and Palace had just beaten a team in blue 2-3, and then West Ham beat them 2-0.

Palace are safe now so it wouldn't surprise me. Plus Palace probably tired still from dgw.

Schurle as well, if Haz still unfit.

I'd almost prefer Schurle over Salah as he seems to get the most out of the minutes he plays. The problem is that he doesn't always start, whereas Salah does.

I've held off transfers this week specifically to see what is happening with Hazard, despite several price rises and drops of the players I want to buy and sell.

If he's fit he's worth keeping and playing this weekend.

      3.

Not if Rodgers brings in Allen and Lucas and keeps coutinho, but I'd imagine Sterling will get plenty of minutes.

Moses and Aspas offer very slight threat, Sterling is way ahead of them in the pecking order but Rodgers seems to think that Raheem will burn out if he's played too much.

I'd keep Dzeko if I were you. But then again, you can safely expect tonnes of hits taken by fantasy managers for the remaining of the season as they look to gamble big. If you really big up the prospect of the player you want to transfer in for a hit and that he's got good record against the teams he's going to face in the next few games, then I think you should take that hit.

If I were in top 1k or 5k or leading in my ML, I would stop go conservative and avoid hits. It's only natural to take hits especially at this stage of the season. You gamble, if it pays off, you're good.

Dzeko is a bit part player from hereon in.

Striker position is not really the position you want to mess about with. If the guy isn't guaranteed a start you have to get rid.

Not sure why Aguero wouldn't start this week.

If he wasn't fully healed, he wouldn't have played vs Sunderland (look at Silva).

He was taken off after like 55 (ish) minutes because he would inevitably be tired after running for longer than he had done on a pitch in months. Another few days of rest to recover further and a home game bode well for Sergio. I'd expect 70 minutes from him this week..

On the other hand, Pelle might not rate West Brom that much, especially at the Etihad, so he might give Negredo/Jovetic a run out, but I doubt it. City just dropped points vs Sunderland without needing to, they won't make the same mistake again.

Yep, and I'm going with Suarez (C) at the moment, but I'm still kind of half looking at Sergio..

I'm not sure if I buy the whole "Suarez is bound to get a hattrick because its Norwich".

Norwich have been more defensively solid at home this year than ever before, and they beat man city 1-0 at home, they're a decent side when they park the bus, they just can't score for their lives.

I still expect Liverpool to win, and probably comfortably by around 3-0..

But what if Aguero gets a brace v West Brom at home? A team that REALLY can't defend and Aguero is great at the Etihad.

Just food for thought, probably going to go with Suarez for the fear factor of everyone else going for him, but Aguero could work out.
