If it wasn’t for the frost in Blackpool, we’d all be sitting down right now to take in the Saturday evening treat that would’ve seen Ian Holloway go head to head with Sir Alex Ferguson. Instead, the Seasiders’ showdown with Man United can be anticipated as our first double gameweek, which allows to Arsenal sit proudly atop the Premier League till next weekend.

Arsene Wenger can give thanks to a fellow-Frenchman this evening, as Samir Nasri -with a quite sensational double enough to see off a resilient Fulham at the Emirates- continues to produce the form of his life for the Gunners. Nasri has scored four goals in his last three games, which takes his league total to eight already, and as a result of being awarded the three Bonus Points today, is the fourth highest-scoring midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

This form has not gone unnoticed, and the 150,00 Fantasy Managers who transferred Nasri in last week will feel their decision was more than vindicated with a performance that has returned 30 points for those who took the decision to hand him the captain’s armband. Such displays have considerably lessened the blow of losing Cesc Fabregas to yet another hamstring problem for Wenger and certainly benefits the Fantasy budget big-time, with Nasri priced at £7.9m compared to Fabregas‘ £11.8m.

Nasri is due a price rise tonight, though, but is still clearly outstanding value for money at present. Even upon the return of Fabregas, there is an argument to suggest he is performing well enough to perhaps even be considered as a better acquisition than Cesc, given his price, points returns and relative fitness.

The Gunners have a tough time over the next few gameweeks which will test their title credentials to the full: (mun, STK, CHE, wig, bir, MCY) but in a season where they can lose at home to Newcastle and West Brom and still hit the top come December, Arsenal are showing the ability to dig in and fight.

Credit must also be given to Jermaine Beckford, whose goal prevented Chelsea returning to first place. Having been slaughtered in some quarters for his woeful finishing against West Brom last week, the ex-Leeds man came up with the late equaliser that sees the champions in third place instead.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

After laughing at my brothers two transfers (A. Young and Nelsen in) earlier, the joke is firmly on me.

Bleurgh. At least he's in a relatively good mood after watching that dross... I'm certainly not.

Nelsen somehow getting no BPs softens the blow a little.

P.S. Shall I change my grab back to Beckford?!

had a good feeling for nasri at the start of the season, got him in my team only for him to get injured in game 1 v. liverpool.
tried to hang on to him though his injury, but other selection issues meant that i had to swap him for someone who was fit.
have only just got him back in my team, and he is staying there!!!

      Same here.

Had him for a week way back then took him out for Fabs. Decided on Thursday really that instead of waiting on Fabs I'd go with Nasri for the foreseeable future. Got him last night and put the armband straight on him.

Regardless of what he did today I already committee myself to sticking with Nasri until at least the next wildcard so today was a nice bonus.

Welcome back, Samir, son. Who needs that Cesc fellow anyway?

Tevez is out against Westham. He would have been ideal.

only Everton game stands out, but last time everton v wbs was 1-4.
Could u captain Etherington against Blackpool? Though everytime captgained someone against blackpool, it has backfired

i am confused myself. there aren't frankly a lot of good defensive options available. i have 7.3 in the bank which is sincerly burning a hole in my pocket. and i have coleman i wanna get rid off too.
was planning to do coleman->samba this week. getting rid of cole-> evra/rafael(imagine 11 in the bank then) makes some sense as i could double up on united for the double gameweek(if gameweek is soon cause thre is no chance of a clean sheet against arsenal )

The Silva situation is strange, he's clearly adding a lot to the team but not good enough to justify the price in FPL terms at, makes him a very big risk, especially with Tevez absorbing the major BPs as well. Would therefore say it'd have to be him out over the other two, who are the main men in their teams.
