If it wasn’t for the frost in Blackpool, we’d all be sitting down right now to take in the Saturday evening treat that would’ve seen Ian Holloway go head to head with Sir Alex Ferguson. Instead, the Seasiders’ showdown with Man United can be anticipated as our first double gameweek, which allows to Arsenal sit proudly atop the Premier League till next weekend.

Arsene Wenger can give thanks to a fellow-Frenchman this evening, as Samir Nasri -with a quite sensational double enough to see off a resilient Fulham at the Emirates- continues to produce the form of his life for the Gunners. Nasri has scored four goals in his last three games, which takes his league total to eight already, and as a result of being awarded the three Bonus Points today, is the fourth highest-scoring midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

This form has not gone unnoticed, and the 150,00 Fantasy Managers who transferred Nasri in last week will feel their decision was more than vindicated with a performance that has returned 30 points for those who took the decision to hand him the captain’s armband. Such displays have considerably lessened the blow of losing Cesc Fabregas to yet another hamstring problem for Wenger and certainly benefits the Fantasy budget big-time, with Nasri priced at £7.9m compared to Fabregas‘ £11.8m.

Nasri is due a price rise tonight, though, but is still clearly outstanding value for money at present. Even upon the return of Fabregas, there is an argument to suggest he is performing well enough to perhaps even be considered as a better acquisition than Cesc, given his price, points returns and relative fitness.

The Gunners have a tough time over the next few gameweeks which will test their title credentials to the full: (mun, STK, CHE, wig, bir, MCY) but in a season where they can lose at home to Newcastle and West Brom and still hit the top come December, Arsenal are showing the ability to dig in and fight.

Credit must also be given to Jermaine Beckford, whose goal prevented Chelsea returning to first place. Having been slaughtered in some quarters for his woeful finishing against West Brom last week, the ex-Leeds man came up with the late equaliser that sees the champions in third place instead.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Just checked my team, 61 points seems like a decent score this week. Only problem is I have Tevez and Kolarov and my team looks like sh1t for next week now..ah well

P.S loving the 3,500 muppets who've bought Tevez already 😀

      Too fat.

Apparently he's absolutely hated by the vast majority of Australians.. Some Aussie blogger came up with some epic quotes about him.

"It takes real talent to be hated when you are pathetic and just as despised when you are good. Even those who have the talent to get to this level of hatred could never do it as well as Shane Watson.

"When not in front of the mirror, he seems to be able to move 95% of cricket fans into a frenzy of hate, pure detestation, clear revulsion, and a general uneasy sickness of rage."

      Scathing.

When we are a little more clear, run wise, I'd love to see Bell and KP. Could get that run rate right up. Collingwood is actually doing ok for once, but he's still generally a little slow.

Collingwood could score 100 off 60 balls and he'd still make it incredibly tedious to watch..

He should have been banned from the England side ages ago anyway. Should never have played again after that farce in the ODI against New Zealand.

    Next weekend:

    Robinson (Carson)
    Konchesky Jara Coleman (Kolarov, Simpson)
    Adam Nani Nasri Bale N'Zogbia
    Wellbeck Drogba (Tevez)

5 mil in the bank. Think with Simpson,Kolarov and Tevez benched I may use my free to switch out Carson for Foster as him and Robbo rotate quite well.

Agree, the fielding side would kick the ball into the boundary on the 2nd 3 though.

But if you intentionally put the ball into the boundary then the boundary PLUS the runs scored up until that time are counted. Or maybe there are penalty runs... It is been a long time since I looked up that Law, but there is extra runs added.

Hope England keep up the scoring against the Aussies! Not as thrilling as the 2005 Ashes (which I might request as a little chrimbo pressie from Santa), but I'll still be delighted if we won.

And this time you can't blame it on players being out through injury. Ponting will retire from the captaincy after this Ashes series, and probably from cricket soon after. Australia cricket could be in for a generation of pain... we had it through the 90's, now it's your turn 😀

These days when clean sheets are hard to predict attacking returns from defenders are very important. And Baines has great potential for that with accurate crosses and quality of headers that Everton have.

Same thing I'm thinking actually, Cole to Baines.

Chelsea's best chance of cleanies has gone for the next 3 GW's now and it looks like the wheels are well and truly off the Chelsea gravy train now.

Baines may actually be a better option going forward now anyway and it's not like Cashley has scored yet this season.
