If it wasn’t for the frost in Blackpool, we’d all be sitting down right now to take in the Saturday evening treat that would’ve seen Ian Holloway go head to head with Sir Alex Ferguson. Instead, the Seasiders’ showdown with Man United can be anticipated as our first double gameweek, which allows to Arsenal sit proudly atop the Premier League till next weekend.

Arsene Wenger can give thanks to a fellow-Frenchman this evening, as Samir Nasri -with a quite sensational double enough to see off a resilient Fulham at the Emirates- continues to produce the form of his life for the Gunners. Nasri has scored four goals in his last three games, which takes his league total to eight already, and as a result of being awarded the three Bonus Points today, is the fourth highest-scoring midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

This form has not gone unnoticed, and the 150,00 Fantasy Managers who transferred Nasri in last week will feel their decision was more than vindicated with a performance that has returned 30 points for those who took the decision to hand him the captain’s armband. Such displays have considerably lessened the blow of losing Cesc Fabregas to yet another hamstring problem for Wenger and certainly benefits the Fantasy budget big-time, with Nasri priced at £7.9m compared to Fabregas‘ £11.8m.

Nasri is due a price rise tonight, though, but is still clearly outstanding value for money at present. Even upon the return of Fabregas, there is an argument to suggest he is performing well enough to perhaps even be considered as a better acquisition than Cesc, given his price, points returns and relative fitness.

The Gunners have a tough time over the next few gameweeks which will test their title credentials to the full: (mun, STK, CHE, wig, bir, MCY) but in a season where they can lose at home to Newcastle and West Brom and still hit the top come December, Arsenal are showing the ability to dig in and fight.

Credit must also be given to Jermaine Beckford, whose goal prevented Chelsea returning to first place. Having been slaughtered in some quarters for his woeful finishing against West Brom last week, the ex-Leeds man came up with the late equaliser that sees the champions in third place instead.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Balotelli - tempted, but I'm still doubt how good man city will be without Tevez ?

Torres - his price due to drop on fpl ?

Rooney & Berbatov - tough fixtures, but Man Utd always good in meeting top4 ?

I'm still a little hesitant to choose Rooney. He's not quite there yet, and with these tough christmas fixtures, slowly finding your feet isn't going to cut it.

I think Rooney is not to far off making a serious impact. While the goals are not there yet he has created a good few with assists etc. He was not doing that or scoring the early part of the season. I am going to take a chance and do drogs to Rooney

        Berbatov, Rooney analysis

Berbatov - Plays further forward, isn't on set pieces, cheaper

Rooney - Plays deeper, penalties, more expensive, United creator.

        Looks a toss-up.

I guess I could afford to go Rooney since I'm getting rid of Drogba.

Nasri is arsenal's best player atm and will be heavily involved in most of their attacking play, also on pens and other set plays while fabs out. Arsenal I think will score goals even against the best. Get him in I think he is a good medium term option.

F*ck it. I might just leave my team - put Fabs and Kolarov on the bench - and use two transfers to fix everything the following week.

Really does make me laugh how people get more cocky and generally comment more on this site when they have a decent week..

I know, earlier I was stating how unlucky I'd been with Toure & Kolarov, seeing as I'd have them both for 3 weeks. Had been denied cleanies in the last min against Stoke and then again today but Dbronaldo just said 'well you made the moves'..

Surprise, surprise, he'd had a good week!

I didn't have time to ask before I left for work! To be fair, I had such a rubbish week, only P Jones (9) scored more than my pick, N'Zogbia.

She's definitely getting asked next week, though - I've got no idea.

Very True, Kolarov out is a bitch for me. No stand out (C) choices either, I think I am going for Nani.

Both our views on Dunn were backed up today, how he is injury prone, and how he is good for goals when he is fit.

No? Was he just brought off? Would be a nice surprise in some ways, but surely if he wasn't bought off because of an injury then he was bought of so he didn't have the risk of an injury, that would be a relief.

Nasri's two goals were quality today.

How did Balotelli look and what happened to Dunn?

Doubled up on Blackburn defenders today, first thing that has worked all season.
