If it wasn’t for the frost in Blackpool, we’d all be sitting down right now to take in the Saturday evening treat that would’ve seen Ian Holloway go head to head with Sir Alex Ferguson. Instead, the Seasiders’ showdown with Man United can be anticipated as our first double gameweek, which allows to Arsenal sit proudly atop the Premier League till next weekend.

Arsene Wenger can give thanks to a fellow-Frenchman this evening, as Samir Nasri -with a quite sensational double enough to see off a resilient Fulham at the Emirates- continues to produce the form of his life for the Gunners. Nasri has scored four goals in his last three games, which takes his league total to eight already, and as a result of being awarded the three Bonus Points today, is the fourth highest-scoring midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

This form has not gone unnoticed, and the 150,00 Fantasy Managers who transferred Nasri in last week will feel their decision was more than vindicated with a performance that has returned 30 points for those who took the decision to hand him the captain’s armband. Such displays have considerably lessened the blow of losing Cesc Fabregas to yet another hamstring problem for Wenger and certainly benefits the Fantasy budget big-time, with Nasri priced at £7.9m compared to Fabregas‘ £11.8m.

Nasri is due a price rise tonight, though, but is still clearly outstanding value for money at present. Even upon the return of Fabregas, there is an argument to suggest he is performing well enough to perhaps even be considered as a better acquisition than Cesc, given his price, points returns and relative fitness.

The Gunners have a tough time over the next few gameweeks which will test their title credentials to the full: (mun, STK, CHE, wig, bir, MCY) but in a season where they can lose at home to Newcastle and West Brom and still hit the top come December, Arsenal are showing the ability to dig in and fight.

Credit must also be given to Jermaine Beckford, whose goal prevented Chelsea returning to first place. Having been slaughtered in some quarters for his woeful finishing against West Brom last week, the ex-Leeds man came up with the late equaliser that sees the champions in third place instead.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Looking at that strop Tevez pulled, it's no wonder SAF got rid of him. Mancini has made him captain and focus point of the whole team and he still throws the toys out of the pram. Nobber.

Ha I knew that was your list. I'd have to see a helluva lot more of this Japanese DJ Ganso, Brazilians are always a bit hit and miss in the Prem. Pigclimber is a class act who would fit in well, De Gea I dont know much about, Bale would cost ya silly money ('tis Harry you'd be dealing with).

What do you judge that 'better' on though. Work rate for the team? I'd say Tevez had that for Utd. Goals? Berba easily. Assists? Berba by a mile. Main plus point of Tevez was he fitted into any formation. Berba is mr 442.

                  Tevez has 10 now.

and has scored as many league goals since joining Man City as Berbatov has since joining United. And the latter had a year head-start.

Fergie didn't want him enough to offer him a new contract in time. Happy? Point still stands. If he was happy with Tevez, he'd have never bought Berba and stuck Tevez on the bench. Why? Because Tevez is clearly a disruptive presence and a bit of a nob to boot.

If a goalkeeper does not have control of the ball and parries a shot or drops a cross or the ball rebounds off the woodwork, the attacking player shooting or crossing the ball receives the assist if a goal directly ensues.

i think it brushed ridgewell. if robinson made that punch it would have been considered a brilliant save. sick of robinson forging a career of parrying shots straight at him dramatically. he made 1 very good save today when he tipped that curler round the post.

    OK gang,

I am FIFTH in the 2nd Test rankings in the Fox Sports Fantasy Ashes game:

    http://ashesfantasy.foxsports.com.au/M/stats.mc?stat=table&event=2

Matt Prior is my differential over everyone above me.

I have Cook (c) and KP currently in the middle, with Bell, Prior, Anderson, Broad and Swann to come in and do the business for me. Let's hope for a storming England innings with a particular strong performance from the middle and tail order then!

    I have a thought..

They should give each team 2 reviews per game for decisions they don't agree with, offsides, ball over the line, Nani diving etc etc... a bit like they do in cricket...

    Anybody agree...

No, most cricketers seem to be decent enough sorts - most footballers are immature bellwaps who would be quibbling about everything. But goalline technology should be brought in.

Its funny how so many of us went for Boselli and now he's lost more value than any other player in the game haha..

Just a random question but if a player came on after 10 minutes when his side had already conceded but didn't concede again would he get a clean sheet?

Well the reason his value has fallen so much is because so many people from here went for him in the first place.... So it isn't that funny.

Yeah, if that happened you'd keep the clean sheet.

Same, I had 30 at Half time, I suppose I almost doubled it, but still. I had a solid 6 from all 4 defenders until late. Hutton and A.Cole lost em, Kolarov got sent off. At least Samba kept his. If Dunn had played the full 90 I think he would have got 10 points, easy.

i know ppl will say its only the nzog owners that see the assist but...
if cleverly is given the goal then the last person to touch the ball before that was nzog, the definition of an assist.

if its an own goal (which these big deflections probably should be) then its clearly not an assist

He should really, for his all round play and defensive abilities...although he's still fairly muck with his final delivery..that will come with age and experience and learning not to look at the likes of Beckford, Neville and Fellaini on training pitch

    My thoughts of the day....

Nasri - awesome, nice snood too
    Paul Robinson - awesome
Kolarov second yellow - pretty harsh imo
    Man city - awesome
People who go to Madness concerts - mostly w@nkers

        Today at least?

Robinson was immense, made loads of quality saves!

City made so many chances, i'm absolutely loving Silva to watch at the moment, wouldn't touch him in fantasy football but he is quality to watch!

Robinson is a great goalkeeper when it comes to saving shots that are going straight at him.

City made loads of chances because Bolton let them.

Kolarov's second yellow was a definite yellow.

Come on, he was mint today!

Maybe, but you can't take it away from city imo, today they were very good going forward (at least from what i saw), some of the balls like when tevez but Zabaleta through, was mesmerising!

Looked worse than it was imo, he won the ball and his leg only came up on the follow through once the danger was gone. Understandable since i thought it looked filth in realtime too, on the replay though i don't think it was that bad a tackle.

            imo imo bbq etc.

        I like Madness the band.

I work at a venue on the bar and in 6 years worth of shows (admittedly been at uni for a few of those) i've never come across so many rude tw@ts in one night before.

In fact i've never even been sworn at before on the bar, today it happened so many times. It was bizarre.

House of fun, you're having a laugh etc.

SuperDunny's ID is ridiculously easy to remember, and I know MFaulk's as well as Akers'. It's only AB's that I don't know but that's buggumarked now.
