Two televised games today finally gives us some live Premier League action to enjoy this weekend. Ok it’s West Brom versus Newcastle United and Sunderland versus West Ham, but it’s better than nothing I suppose…

Team news from the Hawthorns has come through and Newcastle name an unchanged team, That means there’s no Joey Barton or Kevin Nolan, and that Andy Carroll partners Shola Ameobi upfront.

For the home side, Chris Brunt and Peter Odenwingie return to the starting eleven as expected.

West Brom XI: Carson, Jara, Scharner, Tamas, Cech, Tchoyi, Morrison, Dorrans, Thomas, Brunt, Odemwingie

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Steven Taylor, Campbell, Jose Enrique, Routledge, Guthrie, Tiote, Gutierrez, Carroll, Ameobi

          Yeah, but only if its a freebie... cos you'll want Kolarov back in for his awesome fixtures coming up... you could just keep it as is and have 2 frees next week cos cleanie are hard to come by...

          Personally, I couldn't deal with the uncertainty over Coleman's starts so I took him out last week... you have to decide if you want that uncertainty in your team... saying that Wigan is a nice prospect... but you will also be left frustrated by too many 1pt sub appearances...

    Any of you guys taken part in those Last Man Standing competitions on Paddy Power before? Any idea of roughly how many weeks it takes until there is one man standing? Obviously it will vary a fair bit, but just a rough estimate? Ta.

        Thanks a bunch.

        If I'd read the rules right I'd still be in competition tournament 39, along with 12 others.

        Basically I didn't realise that midweek games weren't included, so I picked Villa (without actually looking at the fixtures on the page) thinking they were playing Blackpool, but it was actually for the Utd game, and then you can't change it!

        And I'd have gone through this week with West Brom.... Heartbreaking stuff.

      i was wondering that. i reckon he may mean the defender wasn't involved in the play as he wasn't anywhere near a sunderland striker? that's all i can think of, maybe he was suggesting if the attacking team player can be deemed as not interfeering then the defending team player should too. if that was the case gyan would have been offside.
      or he could have meant something else and i've just wasted a minute of my life
