From the outset, this was always looking like a tricky double gameweek for the four teams involved and today’s results only offered confirmation. While Bolton still have their two games to go (ARS & ful), owners of Wolves players will be cursing their luck as the likes of Jamie O’Hara and Matthew Jarvis drew blanks this afternoon, allowing the unlikely duo of Karl Henry and Steven Fletcher to pick up the points, with an assist and a goal respectively in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Molineux. Wolves next game, a trip to the Britannia to face a Stoke side in their first home game since grabbing a place in the FA Cup Final, looks a difficult fixture that hardly inspires hope.

Fantasy Owners of both Stoke and Fulham players, on the other hand, should still approach the midweek games with plenty optimism. Both clubs are facing very winnable home ties and a reminder of their home form should offer some reassurance.

Fulham are unbeaten in their last six games at Craven Cottage, winning five and drawing the other. This run has saw them average two goals a game and chalk up a fantastic five clean sheets. Bolton, their midweek opponents, have lost eight of their last nine away and have never scored more than once in that run.

So if you’re one of the 112,000 that drafted in Clint Dempsey this week, fear not. Pre-Bonus allocation, the American may have returned just two points, but this gameweek is far from finished for Fulham. The same applies to owners of Bobby Zamora, who was drafted by 72,000 managers, only to start the proceedings on the bench. Zamora did grab an assist in his 22 minute second-half cameo and today’s rest may strengthen his chances of a midweek start.

Stoke’s home form? Almost as good. Four wins and two draws in six, with three clean sheets and an average of just over two goals per game should brighten the evening of Fantasy managers frustrated after the 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Midweek opponents Wolves have picked up eight away points all season and Pulis’ side look likely to take advantage.

While Kenwyne Jones has already vindicated his selection in Big Dunc’s Spot the Differential, next Tuesday’s match offers other a second bit at the cherry for the rest of Pulis’ side. In particular, for owners of Robert Huth or Matthew Etherington-subject of 43,000 and 76,000 transfers in respectively- there’s still 90 minutes against Big Mick’s boys to go….

    Hi guys,
    how's Foster?

    My team:
    Foster
    Samba Luiz RJ
    Young Ohara Nani Adam
    RVP Odemwingie Rooney

    Subs:Stockdale VDV Dawson Murphy
    Have 6.8m in bank.

    Already did Drogba->Odemwingie.
If Foster is injured, I am doing Foster->Hart(4 points hit)
Is it necessary to take 4 more pts hit for Ohara->Kuyt?

I made my decision early when I brought in Drogba. If Torres scored his first goal, I gotta sell Drogba.
I kept Rooney because he's against Arsenal, expect him to play forward instead of free role.

It's a bit early to be asking for advice half way through the GW, but Odemwingythingy is on great form and Hart looks good for the run-in. I'd wait for news on Foster and consider Cech vs Hart.

Kuyt seems to have been lucky, so maybe it's a winning streak or the fact that Liverpool are getting more than their fair share of penalties recently.

Kuyt is taking all the penalties right?
I would choose Hart over Cech because Hart has dgw and also great fixtures. Plus I already have Luiz at the back.

Yeah, I would say Kuyt has been lucky so far.
But besides Kuyt, is there any great midfielder that cost around 9.

Just watched it and it was an assist by whoever it was that tackled the defender to play it back to Johnson. I really couldn't make out who it was though.

Didn't look much like Zamora to me, and he's my captain so I'm hoping it was.

On the BBC live minute by minute text (from the press association) they initially gave it to Zamora which is when it got credited on the game. A few moments later the BBC live text had a correction and the assist was gone which leads me to pessimistically believe it will be snatched away by FPL later.

Not sure what you are reading but this is what bbc says (I've just checked)?:

        79:36
The assist for the goal came from Bobby Zamora.

Johnson, introduced on 79 minutes with the visitors trailing, had been on the field for only 18 seconds when he slammed home a Bobby Zamora lay-off.

Just above that 79:36 one it says:

          Correction - 79:36 GOAL - Andrew Johnson:
          Wolverhampton 1 - 1 Fulham

No mention of an assist and nothing else 'corrected'.

Looks like they have taken it away- but the correction was for "inside the area" from "edge of the area" rather than the assist from press association right, not for correcting the assist??

              Correction - 79:36 GOAL - Andrew Johnson
              Wolverhampton 1 - 1 Fulham
Andrew Johnson scores a goal from just inside the area to the bottom left corner of the goal. Wolverhampton 1-1 Fulham.
              79:36
The assist for the goal came from Bobby Zamora.
              79:36 GOAL - Andrew Johnson
              Wolverhampton 1 - 1 Fulham
Andrew Johnson finds the net with a goal from the edge of the area to the bottom left corner of the goal. Wolverhampton 1-1 Fulham.

I've watched it five times now (Not that I'm obsessed or anything) 😉 and still don't know whether the final touch from the passback during the tackle was from Zamora or the defender.

It would take a microscope to figure it out so I reckon it will stand.

Moments after Johnson took to the field, Zamora tussled with Christophe Berra for a ball into the box and it fell to the former Everton man, who dispatched a shot past Hennessey and into the net.

The ball is played down field and Zamora plays it back to Johnson. You can see the ball come off his boot in the second replay in the video above. Why the big issue? Sour grapes per chance? Suck it up.

Close up, the Wolves defender clearly heads the ball and gets in front of Zamora.

The long range shot from the Fulham end also shows a good view of the defender heading the ball out and Zamora getting nowhere near it.

However, when you look at it from the normal side on angle, it becomes much harder to tell.

I have Zamora in two games both as cap'n but I have to admit, I don't see any assist there.

In the replay from above video, looks like Wolves defender headed it.

Kuyt is becoming hot property. Just checked the Optas:

7 goals in last 6 games. Way ahead of next best midfielder.
Only Malouda has had more goal attempts.
On target, Kuyt and Malouda lead the way here too.

In FPL terms, 60+ pts in last 6 games = 10 ppg.

Is this something to do with Dalglish I wonder? Time for a Scout report to find what's been going on. 😕

I remember seeing the reason why on Motd when king kenny first came along.

It showed that all the liverpool forwards kind of amass together making it easier to pass to eachother and get close. when everyone is far away its harder to cross and help others out. pretty interesting. when i saw that i thought something might happen with their midfielders. watch out for it next time, i wish arsenal would do that in the penalty box.

      silva - quality football player.

with adam johson back though mancini has more left footed attacking options and therefore silva is more likely to miss out.

especially given that mancini likes to play hard working players at the expense of skilled individuals (barry, de jong, milner...).

yaya is the safe bet for a city mid. he WILL play and as mancini likes him to link with the strikers (even though i still think hes a midfield anchor) he may get assists or goals while benefitting from any clean sheets his teammates chalk up.

    Nani > Dempsey
Wellbeck (would have played Barton = 5pts) > Sturridge
    Adam > O'Hara

I've done some bad 12pt hits in my time... time will tell on this one! Players out are currently on 13pts + 12pts = 25pts, with Nasri to play. Players in are on a nasty 6pts with Sturridge + 2nd games to play. So far, it's looking pretty god damn grim.
