Roberto Mancini’s riches are already begin to trouble us Fantasy Managers. Today’s victory at the Reebok may have added further evidence to suggest that they are a team filled with Fantasy talent, but it’s also clear that our quest for secure sources of Fantasy points looks a tough one.

David Silva’s opening goal, although exposing Jussi Jaaskelainen, reinforced the argument that the Spaniard could emerge as the standout midfield option this term. Once again he was City’s creative spark, feeding off the industry of Gareth Barry, James Milner and Yaya Toure in the engine room. Silva looks nailed-on for starts – the likely protagonist in City’s title tilt, but he also looks the exception in Mancini’s impressive armoury.

Toure will get starts but the role handed to him is a concern. So impressive when pushed forward to exert pressure on the Swansea defence on Monday, today, with Nigel De Jong nursing a foot injury, Mancini shackled Toure in a holding midfield role. He obliged with a disciplined showing that proved fruitless for us Fantasy managers. The ease at which Toure adapts to this role is a worry – particularly when City come up against more testing opposition when Mancini will be tempted to temper the Ivorian’s attacking instincts, hindering his potential.

Similar the sight of Carlos Tevez on the City bench, apparently content to extend his residence in Mancini’s squad, will be a concern for those who were seduced by the brilliance of Segio Aguero in Monday night’s game. City’s new Argentinian had ample opportunities to add to his tally but ultimately drew a frustrating blank. Inevitably, Tevez replaced him with over 20 minutes remaining – you could taste the disappointment amongst the Fantasy fraternity. In a brief appearance, Tevez also showed an appetite to be part of things – that has to be a worry.

With such an option on the sidelines, we can only anticipate that Aguero will always be vulnerable – perhaps not for starts, but certainly to having his pitch time cut by the introduction of his compatriot. Can Fantasy managers be content with that prospect week in week out?

Edin Dzeko’s start to the season doesn’t help matters– while plenty will be contemplating Fantasy investment in a striker who has notched 2 goals and put in a pair of impressive displays, there will always be concern that Mancini will shift to a 4-5-1 with Adam Johnson or even Mario Balotelli given run-outs on the flank.

For now Dzeko is picking himself by Mancini’s approach to the teamsheet is fickle and it can afford to be. City appear to have an appetite for goals and an array of providers queuing up to impress. Great for the Italian boss and City’s ambitions – potentially frustrating for Fantasy managers looking to capitalise. At least there is a Silva lining.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Evening lads team in the link. In my 4 years playing FF I don't remember having a 20pt GW unless there is snow included. Thinking to make the biggest knee jerk in my FF history and play my WC this week, That would be 3 in a row 🙂 . But playing short term punts looks like not working. I am better when planning my team for several weeks.

I will almost certain play my WC next week during the International week, like last year but thinking to make it happen one week earlier.

    Reasons:
    - Torres - I don't need even to mention,
    - Holt - Looks like Nor aren't that attacking after all,
    - N Zog - he plays deeper Gabby is the value man from there or is Bent or nowhere,
    - Sinclair - that is a serious price inflation this year due to the fact called "Adam fantasy season". And playing Sun,
    - Sess - OOP punt still nothing I might keep him but away at Swa side with high percentage possession game and I'll have 2 mids playing one each other,
    - Moses - injured and the nice fixtures are out of the way and looks like QPR are finding some feets,
    - Baines - what I was thinking that cash for a side that haven't won on the first fixture for 10 years,
    - Hilario trap - yeah I know, tell me about that,

People I want that will certainly rise and I want them for long term: Suarez, Silva, Enrique.

Sorry for the long post but I need opinion before I hit the magic button.

    Wildcard timeEEEeeee?????
    Cheers,

You are thinking of ditching the same player as I'm.
Nzog is out the door, thinking of Brunt?!
        The same for Sinclair...
Keep Sess, only 2% have him, could be a great great differential 🙂
Thinking of keeping Moses, there aren't many 5.0 great midfielder out there!
Baines is a big headcase...dont know! But I will keep him for 2-3 GW before dropping him.

It's only a matter of time before Sess, Moses and Baines get something imo. Baines was v.close to a huge haul yesterday, Moses hit the bar yesterday and could get pens, as well as being excellent last week and Sess had a good effort saved yesterday.

I don't think its that bad...many of your cheapies are pretty good ..brown and simpson are great rotators and potential clean sheeters.

      rooney is a keeper.

Vorm will do while you ditch Hilario

Baines is quality...could have easily scored yesterday.

Lampard and Torres out over a couple of week for Suarez and Silva would be my choice.

That leaves a fairly awesome squad.

Keep your wildcard. Lots of my mini league got about 20-25 this week and they are all good players. Just one of those weeks.

I think Sess will come good. Baines too. I have Hilario and Given so no rush to get rid of him if you have a decent second keeper. N'Zog I agree - looks too deep to do anything. Torres - give him one more week against Norwich. I wouldn't wildcard yet.

      Isnt Saurez protected?
I can understand ur frustation mate...even i am almost having many simillar players..ok my opinion

Torres--- may drop price in the week, but norwich at home..decent punt..mata signing ..i feel a physcoligical + for him
Sinclair -- dont knw man...they play home next and he would be in my team
Sessengeon -- looked good..but isnt retuning exctly
Moses-- i dont knw and i dont care
nzog,baines-- give them another chance they mght be decent for this week
Hilario --- trap which u went with must have decided that u woud wildcard it on GW4

the majory worry for u should be player rising in price...why not go for the players u wanna keep for a long time in the season..may be 2 hits...and suarez silva enrquie on ur board 😉

I will have VDV in my WC team. I feel that he will come good and suddenly I am starting to like his fixtures. RVP is below Roonie for now IMO. I think Ars best cover this year is gonna be Nasri.

And yeah I thought this team will hold 2 weeks, but now not thinking that.

      Not dire straits yet
Sess and Sinclair have a few good fixtures yet in the coming weeks
Moses - Might as well keep him for the last QPR fixture
Hilario - just as likely to get a cleenie as any other 4.5 keeper
Baines - well yes hes way over priced, but he was unlucky this week
Zoggs - hmmm, yes well your funeral.
Holt - tough games , maybe should ship out
Torres- Im hurting too here, but ive learnt not to hate him for it, it was actually the way che play that killed off his chances this week (and next week...and next...and next.....)

Agree you need all three of those suggestions in though, may Wc is the best plan.

Torres was about 40% to drop on TotalFPL earlier, now he's only at 27%. Bit irritating as I was hoping to trade him after one more week but didn't want to take the hit and did it earlier. Any idea why things changed? Have the first price drops gone through and the calculator been recalibrated?

That's why I was hoping to keep him for another week. Replaced him with Bent in the end, which I'm OK with, but there's another transfer I'd rather have done this week (Alex->Bosingwa).

Site is a guess for about three weeks. They will narrow in- day by day ---- as actual rises/falls occur. The nets are real, first rise should be R.Taylor- DJ has the possibility of falling a tenth in the next couple of days. Read crackthecode on the FISO site.
Give yourself .5 to work with, so you don't freak over drops. I noticed Drogba has more net outs than Torres, so that would have been a futile move.

Using a WC now means you secretly don't want to play, or don't know how to play, ... quit and learn a foreign language (French, Spanish, Chinese, Portugese(for the WC) with the time you will save.

A bit early maybe but would you change anything before next week:

    Given
    Enrique A Cole Simpson
Moses Silva Brunt N Zog Osman
    Torres Rooney (c)

bench: Ruddy Kompany Holt Gabbidon (in that order)

My plan was to change Torres to Van Persie for gw 4 and maybe upgrade Holt to Suarez with time, when he gets more gametime etc...

Good thinking or would you advice me to do something else?

Moses is injured, not sure if he'll be out though. I didn't even hear Osman mentioned once in the QPR game and I was listening as an Osman owner...that worries me, something for you and I to think about.

Not too sure about Nzog either but that's your call. I would keep as is and put Holt first sub and save the transfer if I were you I guess.

I'd keep him if it wasn't for the drop I think. His shittyness of course is a factor too but I'd take the gamble on the Norwich game if he'd stay in price.

I'd be tempted to keep him for one more week if you have him, as the next fixture is so easy.

But he looked so poor in comparison to say Dzeko or Aguero that I'd be very tempted to swap at the very least after next week.

You won't get an objective answer on here. IMO, he's playing okay but its our style that means he is limited. An 11 million striker needs to be more sure of getting goals.
