Roberto Mancini’s riches are already begin to trouble us Fantasy Managers. Today’s victory at the Reebok may have added further evidence to suggest that they are a team filled with Fantasy talent, but it’s also clear that our quest for secure sources of Fantasy points looks a tough one.

David Silva’s opening goal, although exposing Jussi Jaaskelainen, reinforced the argument that the Spaniard could emerge as the standout midfield option this term. Once again he was City’s creative spark, feeding off the industry of Gareth Barry, James Milner and Yaya Toure in the engine room. Silva looks nailed-on for starts – the likely protagonist in City’s title tilt, but he also looks the exception in Mancini’s impressive armoury.

Toure will get starts but the role handed to him is a concern. So impressive when pushed forward to exert pressure on the Swansea defence on Monday, today, with Nigel De Jong nursing a foot injury, Mancini shackled Toure in a holding midfield role. He obliged with a disciplined showing that proved fruitless for us Fantasy managers. The ease at which Toure adapts to this role is a worry – particularly when City come up against more testing opposition when Mancini will be tempted to temper the Ivorian’s attacking instincts, hindering his potential.

Similar the sight of Carlos Tevez on the City bench, apparently content to extend his residence in Mancini’s squad, will be a concern for those who were seduced by the brilliance of Segio Aguero in Monday night’s game. City’s new Argentinian had ample opportunities to add to his tally but ultimately drew a frustrating blank. Inevitably, Tevez replaced him with over 20 minutes remaining – you could taste the disappointment amongst the Fantasy fraternity. In a brief appearance, Tevez also showed an appetite to be part of things – that has to be a worry.

With such an option on the sidelines, we can only anticipate that Aguero will always be vulnerable – perhaps not for starts, but certainly to having his pitch time cut by the introduction of his compatriot. Can Fantasy managers be content with that prospect week in week out?

Edin Dzeko’s start to the season doesn’t help matters– while plenty will be contemplating Fantasy investment in a striker who has notched 2 goals and put in a pair of impressive displays, there will always be concern that Mancini will shift to a 4-5-1 with Adam Johnson or even Mario Balotelli given run-outs on the flank.

For now Dzeko is picking himself by Mancini’s approach to the teamsheet is fickle and it can afford to be. City appear to have an appetite for goals and an array of providers queuing up to impress. Great for the Italian boss and City’s ambitions – potentially frustrating for Fantasy managers looking to capitalise. At least there is a Silva lining.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

That's actually a really well worked goal from Stoke. Ended with a trademark header of course but they took their time to find a good opportunity there in the buildup.

    Total football, Stoke style.

Why did he change to 27%? Also Suarez is unprotected now. FISO CTC says different rises and falls to TotalFPL, if there are actual falls tonight it shows TotalFPL was right.

I don't think anyone knows. Aguero is a better footballer. But Dzeko is cheaper and on form. Aguero is still just settling in a new team. I'm not touching any one so far, don't think it makes a lot of sense before Spurs (away). Wait and see.

Presumably, you brought Torres in for these 2 home games. I say stick with it. If you ditch him and he does well it will be even more frustrating. There's no guarantee that anyone you bring in his place will do more than appearance points.

Id be inclined to just let that ride for this week with possibly Moses for Hoolahan if hes fit. Its easy to change the team every week at this stage just in response to one set off fixtures and in all honesty, on paper, that team has fairly decent matches this week. Then you can always make a more informed decision with two transfers the week after. Also dont see any point in ditching Torres if you brought him in for these two weeks specifically, on paper the easier of the two games is still to come.

Its not actually too disimilar to my lot, i have 40 this week with Rooney to play.

    What are O'Hara owners doing?

Great fixtures but doesn't appear like he will get the bp's he used to get and while he has loads of shots, he doesn't seem to score that many.

I want Wolves coverage for a few weeks and don't really want to change my defenders or strikers, so it looks like a straight choice between keeping O'Hara or switching to Jarvis?

I know Jarvis performed better today, but is it a waste of a transfer to switch?

Jumped off the Moses Wagon to jump aboard the Jarvis one. Looks like there are more points in this one.

moses has been unlucky not to score decent IMO. hit woodwork a couple of times and had goal bound shots blocked...assists not converted

I've been mulling it over but I'm going to give him a go against Norwich. If he can't do anything then he's gone. It was my plan to have him for these two games so I might as well stick with it.

Very disappointed with Wigan. Thought the likes of Al Habsi, Moses & Rodallega would have delivered as they play all 3 promoted clubs first. Still going to stick with Moses but he's injured and rated 50/50 so will be benched. Wigan should be relegated but I fear that Blackburn & 2 of the promoted teams will finish below them.

Then Wigan shouldn't be relagated. Just because they dont do what you want them to do doesn't mean they deserve to get relegated. If three teams finish below them, they deserve to stay up.
