Roberto Mancini’s riches are already begin to trouble us Fantasy Managers. Today’s victory at the Reebok may have added further evidence to suggest that they are a team filled with Fantasy talent, but it’s also clear that our quest for secure sources of Fantasy points looks a tough one.

David Silva’s opening goal, although exposing Jussi Jaaskelainen, reinforced the argument that the Spaniard could emerge as the standout midfield option this term. Once again he was City’s creative spark, feeding off the industry of Gareth Barry, James Milner and Yaya Toure in the engine room. Silva looks nailed-on for starts – the likely protagonist in City’s title tilt, but he also looks the exception in Mancini’s impressive armoury.

Toure will get starts but the role handed to him is a concern. So impressive when pushed forward to exert pressure on the Swansea defence on Monday, today, with Nigel De Jong nursing a foot injury, Mancini shackled Toure in a holding midfield role. He obliged with a disciplined showing that proved fruitless for us Fantasy managers. The ease at which Toure adapts to this role is a worry – particularly when City come up against more testing opposition when Mancini will be tempted to temper the Ivorian’s attacking instincts, hindering his potential.

Similar the sight of Carlos Tevez on the City bench, apparently content to extend his residence in Mancini’s squad, will be a concern for those who were seduced by the brilliance of Segio Aguero in Monday night’s game. City’s new Argentinian had ample opportunities to add to his tally but ultimately drew a frustrating blank. Inevitably, Tevez replaced him with over 20 minutes remaining – you could taste the disappointment amongst the Fantasy fraternity. In a brief appearance, Tevez also showed an appetite to be part of things – that has to be a worry.

With such an option on the sidelines, we can only anticipate that Aguero will always be vulnerable – perhaps not for starts, but certainly to having his pitch time cut by the introduction of his compatriot. Can Fantasy managers be content with that prospect week in week out?

Edin Dzeko’s start to the season doesn’t help matters– while plenty will be contemplating Fantasy investment in a striker who has notched 2 goals and put in a pair of impressive displays, there will always be concern that Mancini will shift to a 4-5-1 with Adam Johnson or even Mario Balotelli given run-outs on the flank.

For now Dzeko is picking himself by Mancini’s approach to the teamsheet is fickle and it can afford to be. City appear to have an appetite for goals and an array of providers queuing up to impress. Great for the Italian boss and City’s ambitions – potentially frustrating for Fantasy managers looking to capitalise. At least there is a Silva lining.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Where is the list of members by country-- is that another interesting feature dropped? It just goes on and on. I remember looking up the 7000 thousand or so playing from Egypt at a propitious time last Spring and now where are our Libyan players.

Am I missing the secret route to that list of world countries? It's a small thing but I enjoyed it- New Zealand the Aussies, South Africa. Anyway peace and prosperity to all those players from Libya.

According to the EAsports index the bps for the chelsea game should be

    Long 1

Well based on the EA Sports Index last week Young got no bonus points for gaining two assists and being on the winning side so I can't see how Bosingwa would claim three for simply one assist.

              *checks Beav's team*

              *has Bosingwa in it*

Strong team. To become stronger do not make a move this week, try to get two free, you won't believe the flexibility that gives you to just make one a week, until you need two. it's a money thing.

I just would preserve the need for an additional "happy to glad" move. That's what young to VDV is.... pure and simple. That extra free move can really save your bacon and can let you add a true bandwagon player.

Lets say old Baines scores two goals, a penalty and a CS. Man you want two free to get aboard on Saturday night, by ditching the high price player plus an average defender to get Baines. Note that you should rarely make a move before Friday, but solid price increases are the exception if they have legs.

You want to especially ditch the high price player who is carrying an injury, a red card, a family issue in Argentina, whatever, and you need two moves so as not to take a 4 point hit. So Young to VDV or viceversa is a happy to glad, non needed move.

They adjusted, read crackthe code at the FISO site, I think there is a min number of NTO net transfers out- for such a highly owned player. Nothing will settle for about three weeks. It does look like price rises/falls are at 0100.

maybe not 20+, but he'll get the points in. villa are set up pretty well, and assuming n'zogbia starts firing they'll be even better.

Yeah I could see Bent picking up lots of bonus this year, could even be a season keeper maybe.

Yeah I get you're point about the team not being built around Tevez anymore which could hurt him, but I think he's that kind of player that will always get goals. Plus he should still be on penalty's which helps.

Log in to FPL and click on 'transfers' - it states it clearly there.

"Transfers for Gameweek 3 must be confirmed by 27 Aug 11:30."

None, but YMMV. Some squirrelly ones with new players but at 4.5 same price. Didn't check FISO. Once it gets rolling in about three weeks, we will see them like clock work at 0100, in fact if you put in a transfer about then and it happens, your transfer window should say ...Do you still want to transfer at the higher price. This year, well who knows.

    need some help...
Torres has got to go from my team, thinking probably Rooney as replacment. I've already done one transfer for GW3 Zamora --> Klasnic to free up 1m so can do transfer. Do you think i should loose 4 points and do the Ronney transfer straight away before the prices change or risk it hold of a week but then might have to do another 2 subs to get him in if Torres goes down in value and Rooney up?

    My squad is

    given

    Richards Enriquw Bosingwa

    Silva Van der Vart Downing

    Fletcher Suarez Dzeko

    subs:Vorm, Hughes, Warnock, Jarvis, Moses

I'm thinking of replacing Downing with another midfielder worth up to 9.5m any ideas?

      Nothing for Lamps?

With the old one Milner and Lamps would be certain up for BP. And in the Che game nothing for the goalscorers?

Will see. For now I think the new system is a mistake
