[sbu_large_image] Scout Picks

There are some potential big home wins on the horizon that have influenced the “Scout Selection Committee” this week. The top-flight’s two in-form forwards are joined by an old Fantasy favourite as we ditch a certain Senor Torres after last week’s limp display against West Brom, while elsewhere another little Spaniard was impossible for us to ignore.

At the back, a Bonus Point magnet is joined by a trio of attack-minded full-backs, all as capable of picking up the points going forward as they are at chalking up clean sheet. Here’s the Scout Picks for Gameweek 3, folks.

Swansea’s first Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium last week saw Brendan Rodgers’ side chalk up a clean sheet in the encounter with Wigan. Michal Vorm done us proud last time round with a penalty save to defy the Latics and with a home encounter against a struggling Sunderland on the agenda, we’re backing the Dutchman to pick up the points once more.

Jose Bosingwa also makes the Scout Picks for the second week running. Last week saw the right-back vindicate his selection with an assist and the 3 Bonus Points in Chelsea’s 2-1 home win over West Brom and with Norwich visiting Stamford Bridge this Saturday, his right-flank runs could see him feature prominently against Paul Lambert’s side.

Liverpool’s back-four defied Arsenal at the Emirates last week to pick up their first clean sheet of the new campaign. With just 1 goal conceded in their first couple of games, then, Kenny Dalglish’s side are looking strong for defensive returns. New boy Jose Enrique has fitted in seamlessly at the back and with plenty threat offered going forward, tomorrow evening’s home clash with Bolton looks enticing.

Newcastle are the only side not to concede a goal so far this campaign and the displays of Steven Taylor have been fundamental to their resilience. The big centre-half has been in solid form at the back and has picked up six Bonus Points in his opening couple of fixtures. At a price of 4.5 and with a home fixture against Fulham up next, Taylor almost picks himself here.

Though Leighton Baines may have failed to fire in last week’s home loss to QPR, the left-back was unlucky, hitting the woodwork with a sweet free-kick. A trip to struggling Blackburn should hold no fear for Everton and there’s no way we’re willing to write-off last season’s top-scoring FPL defender.

Wigan face QPR in the final game of a run of fixtures that has pitted them against all three promoted side. Victor Moses has yet to grab the points his performances have deserved but there’s no disputing his current form; the winger has been a constant threat in his previous two games and we’ve got a feeling that Gameweek 3 is going to be far kinder to him.

David Silva has been at the heart of all things good about Man City’s eye-catching start to the season. While tactical tweaks and rotation have placed doubts over many of his team mates, their silky Spanish playmaker seems guaranteed to produce the goods right now and City’s new attack-minded attitude will pose a tricky test for hosts Tottenham this Sunday.

Difficult opening fixtures against Man United and Chelsea have seen West Brom come away empty-handed but a home game with Stoke offers the Baggies a chance to get some points on the board. Chris Brunt picked up an assist and 2 Bonus Points in his previous home game with Man United and Roy Hodgson will be looking to his chief creator again to put the Potters to the sword.

We plumped for Fernando Torres last week but El Nino failed to make an impact against West Brom and was subbed on the hour-mark. We’ve turned to an old faithful this time, then, as Frank Lampard takes his place in this week’s picks; the Canaries are unlikely to offer the same type of stubborn resistance shown by Roy Hodgson’s side last week and Chelsea’s Mr Reliable looks a good bet to open his account for the season in this one.

Two goals in both his opening games despite playing just ninety-four minutes sums up the class of Luis Suarez. A surprise starter at Exeter in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night, Suarez continued in his rich vein of form by grabbing a goal and two assists. A home game with Bolton beckons and he’s impossible to ignore.

He’s typically slow off the mark but Wayne Rooney has hit top form from the off this time round. Like Suarez, Rooney has netted in his first couple of games and with a decimated Arsenal pitching up at Old Trafford this Sunday, the omens look good for another strong Fantasy return from the United forward.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I shot my bolt and got Enrique in rather than keep an extra transfer. Sod it, he's going to be a season keeper hopefully and his price will go up.

Who would you play out of:

    Moses / Dyer / Osman

It's a pretty good transfer anyway; I've got Luke Young so I'm going to wait and see if he's playing tomorrow morning and if not get rid of him for Enrique.

      1.) Moses, 2.) Osman, 3.) Dyer

Difficult to know what sort of Arsenal team will play. At the moment they have looked very weak especially at the back which of course means Mr Roo could wreak havoc. Having said that they just might up their game for the big one.

      It certainly is tempting.
