There’s not one, but two lunchtime kick-offs in the Premier League today, and the Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and ready for a full day of football. We start at Villa Park in a matter of minutes, whilst the game at the DW Stadium is set to go at half past.

Once the dust has settled from Adel Taarabt announcing himself to the Premier League and Darren Bent scoring the first hattrick of the season, we have a somewhat meagre offering of just three 3 p.m. fixtures…

Blackburn and Everton do battle at Ewood Park, each side desperate for their first league point of the campaign. Swansea host Sunderland, who will both fancy their chances of earning a first win of the season. And then there’s Fernando Torres, with his belligerent of fantasy owners, all praying he finally nets today at home to the Canaries.

Finally, we’ll be off to Torres’ old stomping ground Anfield, where Liverpool and Bolton meet in today’s evening game.

      I'm on 128 too with just 58 on the bench. But my captaincy choice is actually 100% (ignoring subs) 😉 always the highest scoring players in the starting 11. My bad though it was Lampard with 4 points last week 🙂

    Delighted I shipped Torres out for Rooney, the lad was hopeless again today but unfortunately I benched Warnock.

          I'm wondering RvP or Rooney, but you have Rooney already. I'll be doing Lampard>Silva so I'm happy with theMan C players there. Just don't know about RvP, Arsenal have great fixtures butwe all know their shortcomings. What do you reckon, can I do without Rooney? Have no Man U players yet.

            I probably think you can do without him. He's a good option but for 12m he's also expensive.

            Is Rooney or RVP the better choice from this gameweek? We'll have to think some more about that 🙂

        To be fair Torres was not getting good service at all. Not saying he doesn't suck, he does, but he needs people to get him the ball in better areas. That one cross by Mata led to a shot on target.

        Having said that, Chelsea don't look all that great in any area. Serious improvement needed if they want to challenge this year.

    Really contemplating a 12 pt hit and I haven't even had a bad wkend. On 30pts with 4 to play inc suarez and rooney (c) but torres and baines not taking pen has really peed me if. 8m for baines when he doesn't take pens is just ridiculous. It was a miracle he got a cs against blackburn today and they're turd.

      Guys,I have 2 freebies and am kicking Torres out for RVP with one of them,but who to downgrade to free up the 0.9 m?Alex to ~5.1 DF or Yaya to ~7.1 MF?Ideally,I would have loved to switch Alex to Bosingwa but now might have to settle for Brown.Thoughts?

          Not sure why there's so much hate for Baines after today's game. He provided the most crosses in the league last season. The fact that he was on pens and set pieces because Arteta was injured was a huge bonus, but even with Arteta fit again I see Baines up there among the top 5 defenders come season end.
