Manchester United have just joined Edin Dzeko in turning Gameweek three upside down.

In 90 minutes of football, United simply blitzed a bewildered Arsenal, ravaged by injury and suspension, ill-equipped and unprepared for the waves of United attacks and individual brilliance thrown at them.

For Fantasy owners of Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, United’s 8-2 win has brought a rare bounty of points that will have transformed their Gameweek scoring. Three goals and an assist from Rooney, a brace and and three assists from Young, the returns are beyond our wildest expectations and the stuff of nightmares for Arsenal fans and their beleaguered manager who could only watch on while their inexperienced and shell-shocked side were dismantled. Those Fantasy managers without the United pair are unlikely to feel much better – mini-leagues have been turned on their head by today’s events.

This afternoon will have a major impact on the Fantasy Premier League game with Young and Rooney now inevitably set to enjoy huge investment during the international break. Prices will rise, Wildcards will flutter – an extraordinary end to our Fantasy Gameweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This game messes with my head. I can't sleep because of it. Anyway, I had two free transfers and went Dzeko and Simpson in, Holt and Richards out. I am beginning the process of transferring my funds from the back to the front. Because I am not playing my WC I think it is worthwhile to risk the international break and rotation to try and raise some capital. Money, whilst not the same as points, is more important than ever this year.

So after saying I would not get Dzeko (see Richards), he's in up front alongside Rooney and Aguero. Overkill longterm, but once I can assess things further one of them will go out for Suarez....

Walcott and his glass legs can wait till after the internationals at the very earliest. Swans game Could well be a massive anti-climax with Arse scraping a win...

It could be folly to buy Dzeko now, but the risk is worth it. 8.5 mill he costs and COULD be the bargain of the season as long as he remains consistent (I can't take another Berb). Funny how he was one of the players I never even considered up until last week so when I saw he was only 8.5 (cheaper than Balotelli), it was a good moment (also meant I could not resist temptation). If he was 10+ I don't think we'd see so much jerkin, but there is so few bargains, when one comes along....

Yep, two knee jerks on two Man City forwards in two weeks isn't great but personally I feel it is a calculated risk. Usually, I'd say it is easier to get people in as opposed to out, but they will rocket in price if we're not careful. They're undifferentials but that's not a bad thing at this stage of the season. If they do well and you don't have one of them you could be left on a limb...

I can switch out if they don't reach my team standards.

he started opening day, and has played more minutes than any other forward and is in the best form. and as I said, he is the target man up front. Mancini will play others off of him.

if he a rotation risk? somewhat sure. but hardly.

That theory rests on the idea that playing with a target man is necessary. Man United have had plenty of success playing with two small strikers and it wouldn't surprise me to see Man City do the same.

Part of the reason City looks so good is because of Dzeko, they have Nasri, Aguero, Nasri running around and Dzeko gets so much more service and their play stays very fasst. Tevez is a hell of a player, but he needs the ball at his feet more and the offence slows down and he is'nt as good a target man as Dzeko. City is better without Tevez, its a case of a very good player not necessarily being the best fit for the system/players.

    Okay, serious question right here:

Current midfield is Yaya, NZog, Moses, Sinclair, and Fox.

No have not got Dzeko. Planned out a slighly different plan of attack whick involves no WC until 2nd international break.

Leaning towards getting Silva in for NZog and playing Yaya and Silva GW4. Then I can consider shipping Yaya with no points hit....

We're only 3 weeks in, so it's difficult to make assumptions, but it seems at the moment at least that it's better to go with form than fixtures... would everyone agree with this?

Dzeko is the main example, but there are others. United, although they've had 2 home fixtures in a row, have not had the easiest of starts, and yet Rooney and Young are flying. Bolton have had a terrible start, but Klasnic is on fire.

On the flip side, Malouda and Torres have been major disappointments despite 2 great home fixtures in a row. Perhaps less suprisingly Everton have been a flop too, and with the exception of a couple of players last week Villa haven't exactly set the world alight.

My conclusion (2 weeks too late) is that early in the season you're better to follow form, and it's not until later on, when teams are more settled, that fixtures come into play more.

I guess they are the main culprits. But you've also got players like Klasnic and Bosingwa who are in great form and have a chance to get something out of any game.

And then there are players like Torres (in my team) who could have Norwich at home every week for the next 10 weeks and I'd still transfer out. I wish I'd had this form > fixtures revelation 2 weeks ago.

Thing is...Wenger will continue his "I still believe in these players" speech no matter what happens. He is delusional!

They should sack him, otherwise he will continue to destroy them even further. But what do I know ?

Truly truly humiliating. What a fall from grace. As one of the MOTD2 pundits said, if Fergie had to take such a depleted team to the Emirates do you think he'd ever come away 8-2 losers? Not a chance. Wenger is losing it, he should step aside. If I were an Arsenal fan I'd be pulling my hair out at this guy.

The site is updating. Hate it. Got to activate my wild card and bring in Dzeko before the price rises by 0.1

Weird one. I was on 44 points yesterday, 12,000th for that GW. I have Rooney and added a total of 23 points today and now i'm at 440,000 for the GW.

Tons of people had Rooney and Dzeko in theri teams and if they captained 1 of them then it's to be expected.

Quite a few people have both Rooney and Young, plus Dzeko's performance for City. A lot of people had Rooney as captain.

FPL - Updating, christ on a bike, it was starting to look all improved and actually useful, I wonder is this why there were no prise rises? It's a bit unfair if you want to bring someone in and they go up when you can't access the site!

As long as price updates comes between 0:30 and 3:30, it might be too late for Dzeko...
