Manchester United have just joined Edin Dzeko in turning Gameweek three upside down.

In 90 minutes of football, United simply blitzed a bewildered Arsenal, ravaged by injury and suspension, ill-equipped and unprepared for the waves of United attacks and individual brilliance thrown at them.

For Fantasy owners of Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, United’s 8-2 win has brought a rare bounty of points that will have transformed their Gameweek scoring. Three goals and an assist from Rooney, a brace and and three assists from Young, the returns are beyond our wildest expectations and the stuff of nightmares for Arsenal fans and their beleaguered manager who could only watch on while their inexperienced and shell-shocked side were dismantled. Those Fantasy managers without the United pair are unlikely to feel much better – mini-leagues have been turned on their head by today’s events.

This afternoon will have a major impact on the Fantasy Premier League game with Young and Rooney now inevitably set to enjoy huge investment during the international break. Prices will rise, Wildcards will flutter – an extraordinary end to our Fantasy Gameweek.

    I think they should have a set time for price rises that is known by everyone. sort of like everyone knows the 11:30 gameweek deadline everone would know what time price changes occur each day. think this would be fair. and they should do their updates AFTER the price changes happen, not before.

            Well they were happening at 6/7am last week.

            I actually emailed to ask why there weren't any changes yet, and they waited until after there were changes to reply, didn't address that at all, and just said "price changes will happen daily, however they can happen at any time of the day"

            It's a weird system- if it's going on at 2am/6am it's surely not a person sat there pressing the button. But if it's automated, why doesn't it happen at the same time every day? Or even just as soon as a player hits their target they go up/down.

            I'd be intrigued to know more about the people behind FPL... how many of them are there, is their job exclusively to deal with FPL, what hours they put into running it. From this season so far it appears they just pay the cleaning ladies overtime to deal with it whenever they get the chance.

              They've always said price changes can happen anytime. Don't the who & when of price changes being secret is supposed to be part of the game. The prediction sites have changed that but that's not how the devs wanted it.

                Their UK head offices are about ten minutes from where I live. I think I'm going to go down there later today and scream obscenities through the letterbox for an hour or so

      The system for price changes have always been the same with FPL. It is based on amount of Net Transfers In, and the price changes when the amount reaches a certain number. Some sites, like http://totalfpl.com and http://www.fiso.co.uk/crackthecode.php keep some sort of list which continually shows the transfers in with the different players, and one can predict price changes from those tables.

          Haha, nice response. I'd probably put more than 3 eggs in this particular basket, given the chance. I wonder if anyone made the sneaky move of bringing Nasri in before he changed teams and now has Nasri, Silva, Dzeko and Aguero, or something equally obscene.

            My rival had Nasri, Jagielka, Bale and Distin or sumthing like dat. in the first GW to GW3. He also had Aguero as a 3rd sub and because Everton Spurs got cancelled Aguero was autosubbed and netted 2+1 And that c*nt is ahead of me!!

        Tell me about it. I had a little chuckle to myself when I saw my league rivals' teams in GW1.... "they're full of Bolton players" I chortled to myself, this is going to be a cakewalk. And then in GW2, "look, none of them have got Torres, with his fixtures I should be raking the points in!"

      Player must play 3 games for a price change. From then their price is calculated by their 3 week rolling average.

          (75% x old price) + (25% x Current Magic Number x 3 Game Rolling Average)

              A lot of things are different in Sportal compared to FPL especially for the maximum trades/transfers per season. I was lucky enough on assigning my captain correctly so far in Sportal but this is not the case for my FPL team, as I purposely choose 2 different captains for these 2 games.

        good thing is that only 8% have Dzeko and less than half would have him as captain..Rooney well-theres a guy in my league who has got 61 this gkwk so far and Roo(c) has given him 34..

    the four in caps i'm dubious about - would it be worth wcing to get rid of them (primarily to shore up my midfield) + maybe playing the prices over the break, or maybe just take a hit to get rid of yaya/malouda?

      would drop Malouda to Young, Drop Bent to Dzeko, upgrade yaya to silva or nasri. I have same forward, might be chasing points but took out Dzeko for bent and it cost me. Think he will be a constant and get good points this season. You will be short Chelsea cover but think Man U, Man City and Liverpool are where the forward points will be.

          i used mine, i always use it in first four weeks, stops me spending hours changing my team then pressing reset. Also i have found that you need a good start in the first 6 weeks as after that everyone has the same base players scoring points. May be different this year due to a lot of rotation with the top teams but at the start they are all fresh and want points. My current team is

          Hilario (done nowt and will go soon)( Given)

          Bosingwa, Kompany, Enrique(could be best every signing for 6mil) (RTaylor - to Simpson if they get a left back)(DeLaet)

          Young, Silva, Jarvis(or Brunt)(switching last mid between Buzzy of QPR and N Dyer of Swansea) But Hilario will go to Swansea Keeper and Bent( got Rooney an Suarez) will down grade to Dzeko( Cant believe i swapped him for Bent this week) will give me money to up grade to 4 decent mids.

    sorry if its been spoken about and answered but been on a bender since 2pm and just got in. Had Roonpig and Young but cant get on to the league. How many points did they get. Yes i watched the game but at the moment am struggling to count my toes so dont know. Just gutted coz had a dream on friday that Suarez got 3 assists so put him as capt instead of Rooney. Damn Damn, also had Silva, heard Dzeko smashed it and also Nasri with assist but did Silva get anything.

    TRhanks for any help and again sorry if its been answered. Got nearly £1000 in my private league, helps the focus.

        Wenger needs a punch in his Mr Burns face. Thanks to Whirl and LarkyTown. I am a football fan and loved the way Arsenal played and brought through the kids but spend some dosh Montgomery. You can win stuff with kids but you also need quality next to them. Also hate all this, Man City are buying the league. Chelsea have spent loads, Man U have bought the top players for the last few years and blew everyone out of the water (Ferdinand, Rooney, Berbatov, Carrick haha, Anderson, Nani) All big money and won titles .Im a Liverpool fan and we done it with Barnes and Beardlsey the last time we where succesful. Again sorry if this is sh$t. Been out for 12 hours and feeling numb.

    So.. the only players people here seem to want are all around £9m and upwards yet everyone's talking about selling the likes of Sessegnon, Sinclair, Taarabt, Moses, etc but there really aren't any good alternatives at that price. Who are ye replacing them with? I think i might just wait out til they show form or someone else does.

    I've seen Jarvis and Anderson mentioned but they don't interest me. Anyone else?

    Raging i decided to show a bit of patience with Torres and Carroll. I'm sitting there quietly confident while Suarez, Dzeko and Rooney are tearing it up. Serves me right lol, at least i've got 2 free transfers to play with. Dzeko and Suarez methinks, because Rooney's next 3 games are away at Bolton, home at Chelsea and away to Stoke.
