Manchester United have just joined Edin Dzeko in turning Gameweek three upside down.

In 90 minutes of football, United simply blitzed a bewildered Arsenal, ravaged by injury and suspension, ill-equipped and unprepared for the waves of United attacks and individual brilliance thrown at them.

For Fantasy owners of Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, United’s 8-2 win has brought a rare bounty of points that will have transformed their Gameweek scoring. Three goals and an assist from Rooney, a brace and and three assists from Young, the returns are beyond our wildest expectations and the stuff of nightmares for Arsenal fans and their beleaguered manager who could only watch on while their inexperienced and shell-shocked side were dismantled. Those Fantasy managers without the United pair are unlikely to feel much better – mini-leagues have been turned on their head by today’s events.

This afternoon will have a major impact on the Fantasy Premier League game with Young and Rooney now inevitably set to enjoy huge investment during the international break. Prices will rise, Wildcards will flutter – an extraordinary end to our Fantasy Gameweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Currently have Mata and Silva and Dzeko and Rooney. What do people think of Silva/Mata to Nasri? Or Silva to Young? Or should I just stick with that combo?

Is this correct? The Guardian minute-by-minute says that Park scored his 17th goal against Arsenal today. Wikipedia says he's scored 18 for Man U.

Can he really have scored 17 out of 18 vs Arsenal?! To be honest, I can't recall any other goals he's scored.

Unlike the Guardian to get something wrong.

GOAL! Manchester United 6-1 Arsenal (Park 70) Fifteen seconds after Rooney hits the post, Park makes it 6-1, just like it was against Arsenal on this ground ten years ago. Young cut the ball back to Park, on the edge of the box, and he dragged a very accurate low shot across Szczesny and into the far corner. It's his 17th goal against Arsenal in a United shirt.

    thoughts on today.
was the commentator for the arse - united match today a United fan??
He talked about them like they were his boy hood club.

And the comment at the end "The blue side of manchester are very very good but the red side is just special" was just fuclin stupid.
Why talk about City during Arsenal vs. United.

oh, and also, United only managed 3-0 at home to spurs and City beat them 5-1 away. I don't understand how united fans can justify trying to belittle that scoreline.

and also, today was a horrible day to not have any united coverage in my team. glad i had dzeko though.

I'm a united fan, I think in both matchs spurs were poor and both teams did well to beat them by thier scorelines. I personally don't like city as a club and the way they do business but this year I have to say there are responsible for some of the most entertaining football I've seen for a long time, silva, aguero, nasri are all brillant, hopefully they keep it up. I don't like them but I respect them because they make the league better to watch for the public by attracting the best players (unlike arsenal at the moment)

I'd have Welbeck/Chicarito axed and Rooney played there, with Sneijder taking Rooney's place.

That is definitely not a good way to work around things but it makes no sense to buy a world class player and play him in any other role than his best. Hence why the deal would never happen and was 100% manufactured by media and United fans.

Yes, the new look on FPL is exciting and have some cool new features. However, some features have been removed (e.g. price rise/fall search), the operation of the web page is slower, and they are annoyingly preventing login beacuase of 'The game is being updated'. Last season we could at least observ our team and view transfer market while the game was updating.

Anyone else fed up with this? Have FPL made any statements that they will improve this?

Green dreams. Indeed my intial thoughts were correct. Quack . com

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Frantzis

Notice the lack of any affiliation to any scientific or academic community to add the jargon and lack of evidence.

And just to touch on the fact he has a PHD (which is in a totally unrelated and scientific field ) which in no way validates his profession now - there are Nobel Prize winners who think Homeopathy works.....despite an ocean of research showing it is no more than Placebo and even no method or theory to account for it it worked (which it doesnt)

People are very gullible. Once they get an idea in place no amount of debunking can dissuade them. Its defined as belief dependent realism where the person in hand creates the belief first and fits in the rest later to fit his perceived reality. This Bruce guy believing in this with no evidence (re internal harnessing of energy) is no more surprising than the majority of the worlds population believing in a certain book which has no evidence to promote it and a mountain of evidence to debunk it.

People like to believe even without any evidence. Belief is a hard wired evolutionary tendency. *

we all believe in certain things in life without proof, we have to . We wouldn't learn, live or function without believing in information we are given. I dont need proof that China exists even though I personally haven't been there. What you are doing is trying to dispute this on the basis that people in other fields have been found gullible. I'm not trying to convince you to believe what I say is correct., You have your take on things I have mine, We could go on forever, I have been here many times with people trying to get their head round these issues. An exaple being meditation, they want to question, absorb, reason and understand it, rather than closing their eyes and trying to do it.

Im not closing my eyes. Its rather simple.

There is no evidence for it. There is no harnassing of internal energy.

If there was i would accept it.

Its not a case of "il believe this and you believe that".

No such thing as subjective truth. Nobody should believe in anything without proof. Its caused a world of problems already.

No you have to be skeptical of everything or else you cant tell reality from lies. Beleiving in things without proof is both dangerous and un rewarding.

Everything in the world is based on evidence.

Sadly its seems you have already been lost to pseudoscience.

My view is not cynical, its the the basis of the real world which put people in to space and will one day maybe find a cure for cancer and send men to the edge of the Universe. Its beautiful and needed. Not cynical.

We would be so much better of if people under stood science.

Its hard to try and make sense of what someone like me, who hasn't seen any benefit at all from both Manchester exploits, should do right now.

I wasn't going to wildcard, and i think that my most sensible move is Torres-->Dzeko, which annoyingly was what I was going to to do before his goal set. So now i am probably best to do that as soon as possible.

Do these games change things? Is it worth taking the opportunity of the international break? or should a level head prevail? Thoughts?

In kind of the same boat.

I was itching for the wc, but thankfully fpl is a dog site, so i've had time to think about it, and I will just use 2 freebies on dzeko and rvp (after his game for Holland).

Thankfully United won't face a defence as dog as Arsenal's each week, so I'm confident of going without Rooney. Might bring him in for a week or 2 if his price is going banana's.

Is anyone else losing patience with the new FPL?
It's just shit that the site is down for so long with no updates.
All I want to do is log on and see whether anyone in my league did Young (c) or Rooney (c) -- got to be a season winner?? -- and you can't get into the site until Monday. Just useless. And what's it gonna be like at the end of the season...will they give us the scores by August.
Sorry. I know all the whingeing in GW1 got boring...but I'm really fed up with it and it's genuinely notas much fun playing as last year.
Hope the person who made all the site changes lost his job.

... it's killing the game for me. Not sure about getting in until Monday... surely it will be back before then? But either way, availability of the game during the w/e is one of the most important aspects for me... BPs on Monday and lack of availability are borderline dealbreakers... Hugely disappointing, three weeks down the line.

I had Rooney as captain, I want to get in to see where I am in my mini league today... but this just kills the excitement.

    Any thoughts on Darren Bent?

I had planned on keeping him for the first 15 weeks, until Villa's nice run ended, then changing him for Suarez. I'm now concerned i'll not be able to afford Suarez. I prefer Bent's fixtures, and he's got pens, but will i pay if i don't have Suarez? I'm reminded of last year when i stubbornly hung on to Drogba instead of bringing in Tevez.

    thoughts?

P.S. THere will be fewer ear;y price rises this year cause the people love to make transfers after the games are finished and while they are lasting. That is wonderfull knee jerk. Who will come home at 12 o clock and make that Young transfer. The knee jerk has got a seriouss punch IMO 😀

    Should I do:

    2. Torres to Dzeko and Bent to Rooney (4 point hit)
    3. Torres to Dzeko and N'Zog to A.Young (4 point hit)
