Three was certainly the magic number if you happen to reside in the city of Manchester, with both Wayne Roney and Sergio Aguero snaffling hat-tricks last weekend. Here on the “Flutter”, we had our eye on a hat-trick of our own having backed three Fulham players to come good against Blackburn last Sunday. This, as you may have gathered, didn’t end profitably, with The Cottagers only mustering a miserable 1-1 draw. Our punts – John Arne Riise and new arrival Bryan Ruiz, were both hauled off before the final whistle, whilst Clint Dempsey failed to impress against a Rovers defence who shipped goals up and down the country last season.

More setbacks then but, while our Fantasy Flutter coffers are low, our spirits remain on a high as Paddy posts a new set of markets for us to try and stem the tide and wash some of that cash back our way. Surfing the wave of our potential gains this gameweek are midfield prospects courtesy of Tim Cahill, Scott Sinclair and Martin Petrov, whilst Wayne Rooney and Leighton Baines complete another Flutter lineup.

Although putting our eggs into one basket failed last week, the proven Everton combination of Tim Cahill and Leighton Baines looks too good to resist this time around. Our Fulham bets relied on long-shots and unknown quantities, but this week, Paddy’s markets appear to offer less risk and more value. Baines at 11/8 to keep a clean sheet and not to be booked is decent considering the flighty left-back rarely troubles the ref’s notebook, whilst Everton’s opponents Wigan have yet to score on the road. A confident £4 on Baines and cheeky quid on Cahill to score a header at 9/2 tie up half our stake this week.

Next up, Swansea’s “most likely”, Scott Sinclair takes on the Baggies at the Liberty Stadium. Having already hit the woodwork twice this season, the former Chelsea man is due a break and we just fancy the Swans to break their duck against Roy Hodgson’s defence who have been disrupted by the suspension of Gabriel Tamas. Sinclair is on set-pieces and spot-kicks and Paddy have him at 2/1 to score anytime. Those are odds that you’d have to search far and wide to beat, so £3 is easy to part with.

Even though most of our £10 funds are spent, we still have two tasty little markets to digest. Martin Petrov has managed three assists in four outings thus far for Bolton, all of which in games against top four clubs. His strong and pacey runs down the left, often with an end product and stikers David N’Gog, Ivan Klasnic and Kevin Davies will all be looking to profit against visitors Norwich this weekend. Petrov to make a couple of assists at 11/1 for a £1 stake doesn’t seem as much of a long-shot as the odds would suggest.

Last but not least, Wayne Rooney has been reborn as a one-man goal machine for United this term. A free role in tandem with Welbeck or Hernandez has seen Rooney thrive, producing eight goals in four games. With Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, the going may well be tougher but Paddy are throwing an assist and a goal for Rooney at 6/1 and to score from open play and a dead ball at 13/2. With Rooney’s current form you could wager a couple of quid confidently on either. However, Chelsea are more than capable of putting up some resistance so we’ll take Rooney to score a header at 13/2 – a bet that walks the tightrope between risk and value for us and our remaining £1 stake.

Money Back If Chelsea Win At Old Trafford!

Paddy’s refund special for the Gameweek not surprisingly sets sights on Sunday’s United vs Chelsea tussle. This one looks pretty decent – if Chelsea can conjure a winning performance, Paddy will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

I think he'll get a clean sheet. Also, he's expected to play up front and he's not a bad striker, and QPR don't have the best defence. Better than choosing Rooney against Chelsea.

I wouldn't choose an arsenal player, blackburn have improved. It's basically a city player or Ward. And i feel like a gamble this week 🙂

Long term I'd go for Adebayor as no rotation risk and after GW7 Spurs fixtures open up nicely.

I have Dzeko but think when I WC I will get Silva in for Man C attacking cover and swap Dzeko for Adebayor.

No. Swansea have a nice fixture and Dyer has a good chance to score some points.

The captain question is tough one. If Dzeko starts (which I think he will) he could score high especially since Fulham played in Europe midweek. The choice is yours 🙂

decided to take a little risk this week, albeit with some long term planning in mind.

Suarez out Dzeko in. L'pool form is poor and even tho suarez has a good fixture next week after that I'd want rid of him.

HAve cemented my risk by handing Dzeko the (c).... I have Rooney, RVP and Baines already -most others captain choice.

Frees up some cash and gives me that extra Man City cover...as much as possible is needed this season I think, if they continue to punish teams as they have been.

the way I think Dzeko, Silva and Ageuro are ripping it up, scoring and assisting hattricks, braces for fun. even in those games where Liverpool did well Suarez only managed 7pts and he was still playing really well...I can always get Suarez back in when his fixtures improve gwk 8, maybe for Dzeko, maybe RVP, over the next three matches I believe Dzeko will outscore Suarez tho..I'm quite flexible with my frontline...move with the pts and pick the strikers on form is the key. Mistakes will be made, but sometimes risks pay off.

You are right to pull me up on that tho'...I didn't really mean Liverpool are bad. Its just when it comes to chances of mega pts I think Dzeko offers me more than Suarez for now. Gwk 8 coincides with my planned wildcard so can always get Suarez back in.

Have a look at Dzeko's second season stats with his other clubs....will make your eyes pop out with the amount of goals he tucks away.

its not because he hasn't scored, its because when liverpool win he still hasn't racked up the kind of pts that dzeko and the boys are mustering.

Feel free to buggumark this but over the next three game weeks I think Dzeko will score more than Suarez. After that who knows. I'll cross that bridge later.

    Dear people who own Brunt:

It is unclear whether Brunt will play or not. But this is why we have automatic substitutions. If you think that if he plays he'll score well put him in your team and then make sure of you first sub.

If you're wanting to sub him out, you a) didn't plan well with your subs bench b) are overreacting to what is likely to be one game out before a run of good fixtures.

tl;dr: put Brunt in your team, make your first sub the guy you'd want to play if he doesn't.

my thinking exactly. Have Bos as first sub, young Wes Brown as well and Moses as other subs. happy enough for Bos to come on. My only fear is a brunt 1pt cameo. I think tho that this week if he is fit enough to be a sub, he's fit enough to start. Last week was a post international rest, not due to injury.

Granville's pick for the weekend according to the scoutcast. He's a decent choice, but can you ignore Rooney right now?

    1. Captain Rooney, Dzeko or Silva?

    2. Start Cabaye, Brunt, Dyer or Taylor (Swa)?

    Thanks!

      1) Silva
      2) Brunt.

I bet you figured that out for yourself already though, really?

      1. Rooney on form - tough fixture but he'll score points imo.
If Dzeko starts (he probably will) looks a great option since Fulham played in Europe midweek.
I'd choose between Rooney or Dzeko.

      2. Start Dyer.

    Pick Three

    Kompany, Riise, Mertesacker, Enrique, Brown

I'm thinking Kompany, Mertesacker and Brown at the moment

Bosingwa, Steve or Neil Taylor (to go along with Kompany and Ward)? I think all will concede but who has the best chance of getting some points at the other end AND conceding less than 2?

    YOur views plz!

    Vorm (Krul)
Wilkinson, Ward, Boyata (R Tayl, Enrique)
    B.Johns, Nasri, M.Petrov, Cahil (Mata)
    Suarez, Rooney, Adebayor

Have 1.6 Mil in the bank , saving some 2 bring on Nani for Cahil next week. I knw i dont hav Arsenal cover for this week, but I’m guessing the gunners r gonna draw this one. Ur opinions?

    Roo / Ade / Nasri / Mata / Suarez / Petrov…...Whom do I captain?

Petrov odd differential, but you'd be crazy not to captain Rooney.

      Rooney captain.

Unless you have RVP I don't think you'll suffer too much without Arsenal coverage. Looks OK team to me.
