There’s nothing like the smell of a Derby in the morning.

The Dugout Discussion now opens as Everton play host to Liverpool in our early kick-off and with a bang things shall begin, one doth imagine.

Louis Saha finally returns to the Everton team as he replaces Phil Neville in the only changes for the hosts while the short-haul visitors also make a solitary change with Dirk Kuyt coming in for Jordan Henderson. Teams in full are…

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines; Coleman, Rodwell, Fellaini, Cahill, Osman; Saha

Liverpool XI: Reina; Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique; Kuyt, Lucas, Adam, Downing; Carroll, Suarez

The five remaining three o’clock fixtures, while not on quite the same level locally, promise just as much interest for the Fantasy Managers looking to snap up some big scores before another international break.

Eyes will then be firmly planted on the likes Nani and Wayne Rooney (at home to Norwich), David Silva and Sergio Aguero (visiting wayward Blackburn) and a feast of players from Barry Bannan to Steven Taylor as things wrap up a little earlier for Fantasy Managers today.

Unless, of course, you have a hankering for some punishment and decide another derby (Leicester visiting Derby, in fact). The 124 Fantasy Managers in our Texaco Fantasy Championship Scout League may be just mad enough. And me, the Leicester fan.

      Played bad before prior to the red card for Rodwell, started to push afterwards, could have scored several times at the end. Carroll is awful, should be subbed off.

      Thats 100% down to how crap carroll is though, this team with gerrard in behind suarez instead of carroll would be a different story! Suarez won a pen, which was missed and has been in the thick of all the action so far.

    As a Liverpool fan I am happy with our game so far but... Adams shot into the bar, the tackle on him that didnt get a card and the handball shout just outside the box... its very frustrating to watch.

    Sure it's been discussed at the time but just seen the Rodwell red card!
    What the f*** is Atkinson on?!?!?!?!

    Barton went in even worse than that on Sunday against Villa and nothing happened.

    There's no consistency with refs and quite clearly IMVHO they have been given an instruction to dish out more cards in the past week.

    Criticising refs isn't always the way to go but from a man doing his job point of view, Atkinson has screwed up royally.

    So, which Liverpool player will go in the 2nd half to even up matters?

      Personally I would state the obvious.
      Don't rush in and jockey more.
      Also, take advantage of the R1 button where a defender will cover and you can free roam with your chosen player.

      Yes, hold L2 and A, switching with L1 to the nearest player to the ball at every oppurtunity, hold R1 when the ball is central and when within a couple of feet of the ball go in with O to tackle. Don't just run towards the ball or they will run around or through you and your defence. Only deviate from that when they have got in your box or very close to it, then just hold L2 and always have an extra man pressuring with R1. Also, when you have them high up the pitch presure a lot and switch to 'ultra attack' and 'high pressure', switch back if they get pass you or you win it back.
