Few of us Fantasy managers had seen it coming.

A trip to Anfield, with a home clash against Man City to follow, was surely the last place you’d expect Sir Alex Ferguson to bench his two most consistent attacking players.

This lunchtime, however, saw Wayne Rooney and Nani sit out the proceedings against old foes Liverpool until a Steven Gerrard free-kick had somewhat forced Fergie’s hand. In the end, the duo were afforded twenty-one minute cameos but failed to fire, returning a single Fantasy point apiece in the 1-1 draw.

At least Roberto Mancini gave us warning- the Man City boss had spoken of rest and rotation yesterday but, with Sergio Aguero’s groin injury ruling out the Argentine, not many had expected David Silva to be benched as City looked to leapfrog their rivals and climb to the top of the table.

With Adam Johnson running amok against Aston Villa, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko were both given the day off in the 4-1 win- Silva’s appearance, midway through the second half, mirrored that of Rooney and Nani, with just one Fantasy point to his name.

A look at our Captain’s poll sums up the frustrations of many – Silva and Rooney sit second and third, an indication of the collective faith ahead of this Gameweek’s fixtures.

Today’s results afford Robin Van Persie the platform to produce the goods in what has proved a frustrating, low-scoring Fantasy Gameweek so far. Arsenal’s home showdown with Sunderland tomorrow is set up nicely, then; Fantasy managers who awarded the captain’s armband to the Dutchman look set to reap reward if the Gunners can see off an out-of-sorts Black Cats.

Two goals in his last home game certainly looks promising- Van Persie, the number one choice in the Captain’s Poll, now has the potential to be a major Gameweek-changer and proved the catalyst for a significant swing in the Fantasy fortunes of many.

Lovin' Moses' consistency. He's played 90 minutes every match so far, and has done absolutely nothing. No goals, no assists, no bonus points, no yellow cards, and no red cards! Amazing!

Well although the four point hit (Woodgate and Suarez in for Ward and Adebayor) was a bit of a fail, I have a pretty tasty lineup for next week so long as Suarez doesnt get banned and Bannan returns to the side ( I assume the big dogs that were benched this week will return).

    __________Krul__________

    _Warnock_S.Taylor_Bosingwa_

    _Bannan_Cabaye_Mata_Silva_

RVP (c) and Ramsey for me tomorrow. On 29 at the moment which seems to be a decent score with my captain yet to play. Planning to make no transfers next week and bank the freebie? I'm eyeing up Enrique myself and maybe a Spurs midfielder

Yeah, never a truer saying, always go with your gut, i did go off what people advised on here a lot and messed up a bit first few gameweeks, not to boo the advice at all, it was sound advice at the time. i still do take notes from what people tell me on here but i always stop and think now and say 'is it what i personally want to do?' lol, that usually evens things out between my own and people's opinions and advice, a mixture is good i feel though 🙂

I've pretty much decided im gonna make gerrard a season keeper. I am not typically jumping on an immediate bandwagon here, just feel he is just one of those imperatives to have as a season keeper, and now he is back, he is gonna be haulin ass i reckon points wise.

PLUS, liverpool have nothing to concentrate apart from prem league really, nothing else knackering them out in essence.

anyone with me? or getting him? think im getting him as of next week 🙂

Surely he's a season-keeper. Chelsea aren't going to be conceding every game for the rest of the season, and they probably have one of the most reliable defences in the league. I read somewhere that Chelsea have conceded the least shots this season, so they've been quite unlucky to have conceded in every game since GW 1.

Agree in principle. However, it's really frustrated to see them conceded a goal a game since Gw1 (except 3 to United)... 😕

Was going Dzeko>Suarez, but I might wait to see if he will sit out for his alleged racial slurs.

Just reading goal.com ratings for a laugh.
Baines MOTM in a 3-1 defeat and Mata was apparently anonymous at times 🙄

So if Chelsea beat Everton next week in Carling Cup, how long should we expect it to be until the DGW?

Pulled Cole out this week and, although he got an assist, to my credit Chelski went and conceded again.

Moses ....... what should I do with you ?

I've decided to keep him for a season but your "2-point" consistency really frustrated me.

Are there any owners around here ? What're you planning to do with him ?

Keeping...until I see anyone better out there in the same price bracket. According to one report I read, he was very prominent and creating chances. Problem is, no one to finish them off. Think Moses is probably missing Rodalega.

keepin.. prefer him over waste of space dyer and if you want someone sub 5 million he's the guy to have.. watched him yesterday and he's brilliant.. perfect 5th mid.. guaranteed gametime and looks like he can actually score some points.. dont mind losing money on him as he is a season keeper for me..

Yes. I agree that he's simply the best at that price. There were chances for him to score/assist but the Wigan team that cannot produce the good result.

The only problem of keeping him is I will have both N.Dyer and Moses playing as 4th MF every game. It sounds like having at lease one 2-point man every week which doesn't seem right... 🙁

He's a goner as soon as I can afford it. He's had every opportunity to score points. He wont get much easier fixtures than the ones he's had and he's still getting 2pts every game.

I'm planning to downgrade in DF (Komp or Bosingwa) and upgrade Moses to Petrov
