Continuing our series of “Talent” articles for Members, our focus turns to an unlikely source of Fantasy potential, who has only recently blinked on our radars. Newcastle’s Jonas Gutierrez has been a key component in their successful season thus far and, in recent weeks, has done enough to suggest that his game has undergone a transformation.

In this article, we raid the data available to our Members, examining our own ICT Index and the Opta performance statistics, to examine how Gutierrez has suddenly emerged as a Fantasy prospect. Crucially, we also compare him to team-mate Yohan Cabaye, who, up until now, had been considered the weapon of choice in the Magpies midfield.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Bale and Adebayor is too much Spurs.Arteta and Ramsey instead of RVP is just wrong too.

I'd downgrade Arteta and Bale and get some Chelsea (Sturridge or Mata). Or consider rejigging your midfield if you have a WC to play and get RVP and Mata or VDV as your sole Spurs.

I disagree to the point 'Bale and Adebayor is too much Spurs.' Adebayor seems like a good bet to be one of the top 5 fantasy forwards at the end of the year and Bale is a midpriced possible lottery ticket. Yeah he could score 8 points in his next four matches. But he could also score 30 in his next two.

I really don't know what to do this gameweek, I have Rooney, Nani, Silva and Kompany. I'm benching Kompany but don't know if to lose Rooney or Nani to Suarez or VDV, what are people doing with the same problem?

Have the same problem with Rooney and kinda similar problem with Silva, I'd love RVP but would mean I'd have to swap him for Rooney. Long term im not sure if it's worth it.

Whats the best goalie rotation? I've currently got Begovic and Vorm, but folk on here are saying that is a bad rotation. I really like the look of Stoke's fixtures (after gw8) hence why I went with Begovic so really don't want to sacrifice him, and am inclined to take the hit this gw. Any suggestions welcome.

Your defence looks ok to me (seen a lot worse). Not sure on Woodgate though since he didn't start last weekend. Wilkinson would be the ideal replacement but dunno if he's 100% nailed on. Boyata, McAuley and Tierney are other options in your price range...

Yeah, the Dortmund performance was a microcosm of their CL season so far - they started off on top, wasted a host of chances and then let in some very cheap goals. It was noticeable just how much of their game goes through Götze - they built almost exclusively down the right when he was on the right-hand flank, and then on the left when Götze changed wings (and over-dribbled, again). Other than that, BVB were very static with too many aimless long balls. Lewandowski was better than expected though.

Evening, gents, been pondering this for a while, looking for a bit of advice.

Rooney and Long out, Suarez and Adebayor in for a 4 pt hit. I'm WCing in GW11, so I'll bring Rooney back then. Theory is that the two I bring in will comfortably outscore the two I take out over the next 3 games. Would leave me with:

    Given Ruddy
    Lescott Bosingwa Enrique, Brown, Simpson
    Silva Mata Petrov Dyer Moses
    RvP Suarez Adebayor

    Yay or nay?

That's the worry, the plan all along was to get a couple of cheeky goals from Lescott, then switch to Kompany if/when Toure threatens Lescott's place.

I don't mind the self confidence in itself, but it leads to him being pretty greedy, and I don't think he's a good enough finisher to be that greedy. I know a couple of Birmingham City fans who won't have a word said against him, though.

Cheers pal. Keepers are my only slight concern but can deal with it next week or week after that if need be.

Yeah, he did me proud last week, and my other option's don't look as strong. Lack of Liverpool attacking coverage is a worry but can't cover all bases so going to have to risk it. Got many memories of big Gerrard hauls at Anfield with the armband, hattrick against Villa sticks out. So with his lowish ownership, i wouldn't be that upset to see it again for ya! Aslong as Suarez isn't involved!

no probs, man, yeah RVP also did me proud as captain last week, was hard to put the armband on someone else but i think gerrard will do some damage against norwich, i reckon they got quite lucky at united with a shoddy defence, wont be the same thing at anfield.

Yeah you can always deal with keepers when seen fit, least of ya worries with a strong team like that anyway.

i know yeah though, as long as suarez keeps out the picture i'll be happy even though ive got him lol, want gerrard to have all the action :-).

Cheers, happy with my transfer strategy too. Biggest risk (aside from injuries) is further price increases before the new GW begins. RVP's rise to 12.1 makes the Petrov >VDV & RVP > Aguero possible, but ant further price rises/drops and I'm fecked.....

Cool. I also have the thought of switching to Aguero, but will sit on it. Don't know if i will be able to afford RVP again if i do. Had the same problem with Rooney last week, and now have points on the board, decisions...

Krul?Instead of who? I nearly went for him but decided on Begovic. May not rotate so well but the fixtures look v favourable for Stoke.

    Given
    Boswinga, Simpson, Enrique, (Taylor, Gabbidon)
    Silva, Sinclair, VdV, Ramsey (Tiote)
    Aguero, Adebayor, Rooney

Should I bring Van Persie in? If so, how?

I wouldn't be too keen on getting rid of any of your front three, but if I was voting for one it would be Adeybayor because you have VDV.

Real dark horse this season. Been in my team since GW1. Best option in his price range IMO, but not as fashionable as Petrovs/ Ramseys who are decent options in their own right.

Really liking the look of Eagles. Nice alternative to Moses and I like the way he plays. Cheaper than Petrov and I think he'll establish himself as a 90 minute man. Is he landing in people's teams?

        I would have thought so.

As a VDV owner it would be good to see Defoe play the 90.

Or would you just do Agbonlahor to Suarez?

Whats the better move this week and why?

    A: Mata - VDV
    B: Barton - Ramsey

    Team now

    Krul (Vorm)
    Bosingwa/Enrique/Simpson (De Laet/Woodgate)
    Mata/Silva/Nani/Barton (Moses)
    Rooney/RVP/Best

Already doing Rooney - Suarez this week, and got one transfer left

Actually stumbled onto my Sun dream team the other day, which I have looked at since week 3 and realised im doing pretty decent. ~600th for the Month. Got 3 Fulham defenders (all comps count) so a CS tonight wouldn't go a miss.
