Driving home for Christmas, we present you with the festive ScoutCast. Obviously only for those without passengers – we wouldn’t want to inflict this on unsuspecting souls.

A stocking brimming with the usual merriment, the episode comes with the annual added bonus of hearing myself and Mark exchanging “ironic” gifts as an act of “goodwill” one more.

Along the way we deliberate the Robin Van Persie helpline, the revolving doors being worked by Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart and the perils of double gameweek investment.

      I had same dilemma (see above) but made transfer as would be making it next wk anyway and although ba should do well this wk I would still prefer studge v fulham and for cheaper

              It's not irrelevant at all..?
              Seeing as they are likely to get 2 points considering Spurs home defense so far this season, then what is the point of having 2?
              Especially when you'll have to bench a big hitter who could easily score just as many that week.
              1 is enough, IMO.

      Team looks really good. You should get Mata in if you can afford it. 2 good home fixtures.

        Thanks for your reply. Mata is affordable and one of my top choices. Others being considered are Walcott, Adam and Walters, all with two nice home games.

        The problem is that as I only have one DGW player, any non DGW transfer feels like a hit so close to the Double.

      Think it has to be Silva (provided you can afford it) doesn't it? No attacking City cover is not a good place to be in.

        I could afford him but it would restrict my options going into the DGW.

        Strangely, I am relatively relaxed with no MCY cover for the next two weeks, although Silva will certainly be back in with my WC.

          True, but who would you want to add for the DGW?

          You could easily do something like this to get Spurs/Everton players in:

          Verm -> BAE
          Valencia -> Drenthe
          Ba -> Adebayor

          Smalling could even become Evans if you need to free up extra funds. Just think that City are so explosive and capable of dropping 3-5 goals on almost anyone, that you need to have an 'in' to their attack.

            Thanks again for your thoughts.

            The problem, in terms of flexibility, is that I want the option of doing Ba to Adebayor next week, which I cannot afford if I buy Silva.

            I broadly agree with your thoughts on City, but Silva is not an explosive player, even if City do get some big wins. I would rather be going into the next two GWs without Silva, than without Nani.

    For me a 8 point hit is too much to recover from in a single game week.

      That's a very general statement.

      If you get someone in who immediately bangs out a 15 pointer, while your former players do bog all, you can make it back in a heartbeat.

      I wouldn't recommend it ahead of an important H2H match, but it's not that big a deal in a broader sense.
