Driving home for Christmas, we present you with the festive ScoutCast. Obviously only for those without passengers – we wouldn’t want to inflict this on unsuspecting souls.

A stocking brimming with the usual merriment, the episode comes with the annual added bonus of hearing myself and Mark exchanging “ironic” gifts as an act of “goodwill” one more.

Along the way we deliberate the Robin Van Persie helpline, the revolving doors being worked by Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart and the perils of double gameweek investment.

Merry Christmas from the ScoutCast!

Come pull your Christmas cracker here.

Alternatively, stream away on the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    My current team:

    Vorm (Given)

    Enrique Evans Kompany (Brown/Simpson)

    Nani Silva Sinclair VDV (Moses)

    Ba RVP Sturridge

Who should I swap VDV for? I am thinking Valencia or Bale.

If I go for Valencia I will have enough money to bring Ade in for Ba the following week. Any advice will be appreciated.

With Bale you never really know, but he's always worth having with a DGW around the corner. If Ash Young is out for a while then Valencia could be a great punt with Utd's fixtures - he's an assist MACHINE.

Ok i know it's just a boring list of players but which looks best?

    a) Baines & O'Hara > Evans & Walcott/Adam
    b) Baines & O'Hara > Huth & Valencia
    c) Baines & Ba > Evans & Adebayor
    d) Baines & O'Hara > Vermaelen & Sinclair/Etherington
    e) Baines, Jones & Ba > Evans, Shawcross & Rooney (4 point hit)
    f) Baines, Jones & O'Hara > Evans, Mata & Huth/Smalling (4 point hit)

    Thoughts?

I suppose the optimum low scorer potential has to be a pen taking def. Let's say Baines playing v a rampant City. He misses a pen, scores an og, then get's sent off before half time and Everton lose 8-0. played 35 mins +1 m/pen -2 og -2 red card -3 goals conceded -4. Total: -10 ; )

0.0m in the bank and already taken a hit this week. I just don't see anyone for 6.4m or less that is worth taking a hit for, especially given Ramsey's fixtures. The most attacking central midfielder at Arsenal has to start scoring soon right?.... 😉

Well, to be fair this is the dilemma you end up with if you have roughly 50m tied up in 5 players. Ramsey is worth holding for the next 2 GW based on fixtures so for everyone 6.4 and under he's one of the better options.

Confused on what to do with my team.

    Krul Vorm
    Shawcross Brown Simpson Evans Boyata
    Nani Silva Sinclair Dyer VDV
    RVP Adebayor BA

2 FTs, 0.8 in bank. Obviously VDV has to go but was thinking of selling Ba to either Sturridge or Rooney. Don't mind a 4 point hit either.

    Any advice much appreciated.

I like the transfer, but i would get Adebayor back and start preparing for the DGW because you have no Tottenham.

This works out of Sturridge goes off in the next 2 GW. You'll need Spurs back in before the DGW but I'd rather have Nani than Mata at the moment. Sadly I have Mata 😛

I tried a different tactic this year - always wildcarded early before and ended up regretting it. That said your team is looking great and unless you get a horror show of injuries or a bunch of matches get postponed you should be just fine. Be interesting to see who finishes top out of us both this year!!
