Driving home for Christmas, we present you with the festive ScoutCast. Obviously only for those without passengers – we wouldn’t want to inflict this on unsuspecting souls.

A stocking brimming with the usual merriment, the episode comes with the annual added bonus of hearing myself and Mark exchanging “ironic” gifts as an act of “goodwill” one more.

Along the way we deliberate the Robin Van Persie helpline, the revolving doors being worked by Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart and the perils of double gameweek investment.

    Biggest FPL regret of the season? Mine: not getting Sturridge for Suarez 6 Gw's ago. Now have Holt as my 3rd Striker (RVP,Ba). Not convinced he's a keeper

      Yeah Suarez for the past 6 weeks didn't turn out so well. Holt is a bad choice for 3rd striker. Morison is a better option and even then the 3 forward positions are crucial especially with so many big name options out there.

        Got Holt last GW , wish i had Morison already as Holt is a bit of a Rotation risk too. Oh well, will revamp the forward line with the Jan wildcard with Ba off to Africa too

        Its a tough call. A 4 point hit and Baines had a DGW. So will Vermaelen over 4 games outscore Baines over 5 games, with Baines getting a 4 point headstart?

        Anyone near 90% at 01.00am UK time may well rise. Those above 100% always do, from what I've experienced. BTw, price rises are done at about 3.00am UK timer.

    Just looking at some Differentials.

    Dempsey,Huth,Skrtel,Walcott,Crouch and Odemwingie come to mind if only the big sides didn't have such good Fixtures.

    Is anyone else looking forward to the FPL cup starting? My 2nd season playing and last year lost 6-5 in the 1st round due to snow. Quite interested to see how it goes this year without weather screwing it up.

      I'm in the same position as you, 2nd season of FPL and never got a chance in the cup thanks to the snow last year, but still, it'll be nice to have something to look out for, considering I didn't make the cut of the FFS Cup

    Anyone know if JEvans is nailed on to start if fit? Considering taking a hit to do Brown -> JEvans and would be gutted if JEvans then got rested. I know hits for defenders are normally a big no-no, but given the below I think it is just about ok:

    a) If I keep Brown I'd be doubling on SUN defence with Westwood
    b) MUN have great short term fixtures, so JEvans is likely to repay the hit over say 2-3 weeks
    c) I can't afford the trade tomorrow after JEvans rises tonight.

      Get Evans. United defensive cover is good to have right now. Everyone here will probably tell you not to take a hit for a defender. but I think you should do it. Its a long term move anyway innit.

      on another note, Wilkinson looks set to fall tonight; extraordinarily close last night (at -99), so I moved him out yesterday for Caulker; if Wilkinson comes back, I might bring him back in at 3.9 in place of Simpson (also have Krul)

      More exciting, I'd like *big name striker* to Liverpool, though that's not just a fantasy hope.

      Tbh January transfers are only exciting as differentials or if they're priced surprisingly cheaply
