It’s not been the greatest of gameweeks so far, has it? With a couple of clashes still to go, many of us will be keeping a keen eye on tomorrow night’s events at the Emirates, with the hopes of many a Fantasy manager pinned firmly on the shoulders of Robin Van Persie.

For now, though, our members can now pick through all the statistics from the Gameweek and, once again, we’ve picked out some eye-catching numbers to digest. As usual, we’ve also included our prediction of where the Fantasy Premier League bonus will go…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Cahill > Skrtl
    Moses > Miyaichi.

Not the best transfers I could have made.
Hopefully Skrtl can still repay me.

Ok lads final thought and I am going to bed. Can't believe but very soon I will have 3 high profile differentials: Sess, Komp and Ba.

Sess more than 300K out, Komp (to some extent) more than 60K, and Ba around 110K. They were all the time in the dream team this season, they could all explode and all those lads who sold them are actually active players. Sess negative NTI are wow. And I don't see defender/mid/forward that exploded in mean time in there price range. Something being patient pays off, especially when u build high team value in the first part of the season.

If I add Siggy, Morrison and Hart probably (differentials wise) I like my team and chances for greens in the ranking. We don't have the Power 5 in the midfield anymore and I am loving it 🙂

    Good luck to all, cheers,

Will be looking to bring in Sess and Valencia in the next couple of weeks. Once they are back into their respective sides it would be a good time to buy and gain value on them once more whilst not having had to lose value or points by keeping them.

Think there is a good reason why people have been shipping out Sess , Ba , Kompany and Silva

Ba clearly not the same since Cisse turned up

Sess possibly the best of them , although their fixtures not great , and there are plenty of other decent mids at a similar price

Kompany , will keep putting in a shift , but at current price appears overvalued , teams such as Liverpool , Tottenham and man u all have much easier fixtures
        Which also applies to Silva

Komp overated? City are predicted to concede fewest goals till the end. He is nailed on, good shout for BP and recently a goal threat. I think still value in Ba, before I got Ade probably. And I would love that goal and assist combo for Sess at home against QPR. That is why I am saying they are differentials. I have different opinion from all those sellers

Get Rooney, I'd sell Suarez if it was my team. Kompany may be back next game. I'd sell Sess so you aren't forced into 433 with no reserves.

To be fair, Taiwo only played 10 minutes.

I bought him, and I can honestly say the only reason why is because he is reasonably threatening and he has 8 good fixtures left this year.

I consider Bale a keeper for several reasons

        1) Hes all class
        2) Much easier fixtures coming up
        3) At some point Spurs have a double gameweek , you ill only end up buying him back

Ryo is good , but really only for easy games , i miight even bench him next week , away to villa.
Bale at home to Stoke , will carve them up

    I don't think anybody "needs" Silva, he hasn't been great for a while now, in fact, you might be surprised about this stat with your favourite boy Mata;

I've given up with the two of them. Decided early in the season I'd have only one of the two assist machines. But always seemed to catch the wrong player at the right period.

That is very interesting. Two points as to why I still prefer Silva.

First, He is in a more attacking side. Chelsea offense is so bad, its officially worse than their defense. Silva is just more likely to be involved with goals, since his teams actually know how to score them. (today, of course, being the exception.)

Second, I bought Silva for 9.5, and all things considered, as close as they are, Mata hasn't even outdone him until recently, and if you subtract those first two games, as you did there Mata would have more minutes than Silva, too. They are contemporaries, in my mind, in terms of price bracket, since I bought Silva for 9.5.

Point taken though. They are certainly much closer than I thought originally.

That's true re minutes, but really, that's the risk with Silva, like almost every City player he will be rotated, and with that ankle problem he had he could be seeing more regular rest.
After all he was taken off with 5 minutes left when they were one nil behind in what was perhaps the most important match for the title race so far.
And there is always the argument that Mata is no good away, but of the last 8 away games, City have scored 4 goals.

Silva served me well but his time was up on saturday. I think most will latch on due to getting him at 9.5 but I just feel his output has gone str to hell and with rotaion and his ankle injury I don't feel the value is there anymore. I'd rather most kept him actually lol.

I'll tell you why: Jafa told you how amazing Mignolet/Krul would be, that's why.

If only I had gone with Schwarzer/Vorm and Evans, which was my original plan. I might actualy be in the top 1k if I had.

Lindegaard screwed me over so much.

      So glad I kept Vorm.

Haha he had nothing to do it, Newman.

Krul/Mig was still awesome, tho its hard to predict which games they'd do well in. Had I started Mig in all the games, I'd get way more points. GK rotation is a pain.

Anyways come WC, I'm going Mig - Bog & start Mig on most weeks. Dirt cheap combo 😉

U were influenced by the masses. I wasn't. I think I am gonna swap Simpson or Senderos for Caulker. Ther weren't lucky with the CS's, they are actually good side and playing good football especially at home. I've learnt my lesson the hard way. U don't play the fixtures with your 4.0 dream team keeper (Schwazer, Hart, Sorensen, Foster in the past), your 5th defender too and sometimes the 5th mid

Nah mate. Vorm had 1 CS in 8-9 games when I WC-ed in gw24 & Newcastle were pretty strong defensively. That swung it for me but I still got Cocky to be safe. Now I realize GK rotation is so much of a pain. Mig is awesome & Krul has been a waste of space & money.

only 3 of them are imo.
i think deep down people were surprised with a vorm clean sheet this week, the stats are all coming out in hindsight, half the teams i've seen with him playing are default choices, either the result of having sorensenlindegaard or having krul at the emirates.
i sold vorm to buy caulker and banked the 0.7mil, only people who've probably lost out are those who bought risks like sorensen and lindegaard when selling vorm

          I wouldn't have called those home games delicious, especially at the time of WC;
          - Swansea clean sheets were drying up.
          - Norwich, Blackburn and Wolves were/are known for their CS destroying.
          - Newcastle were on fire and just outside the top 4.
          - City were on top and beating everyone
          - Everton and Liverpool were the 2 teams in poor attacking form.

Praying RVP and Ba do nothing tomorrow, if so, then I'm looking at a very realistic shot of catching my leader who was 120 points ahead of me 7 GWs ago.

Will have Suarez captain to go, and if he scores will have halved that deficit with 10 GWs still to go. Had it not been for one disaster week then it would be even closer.

I gave up the fight a while ago but now momentum is with me, I'm catching him every week and with Rooney as a differential, amongst others, I'm starting to feel a bit of confidence.

Very tempted to do Silva to Young as a further differential, can't see Silva hurting me with a big score, but with Young's fixtures and potential to explode he could help me close the gap even quicker.

Young is definitely worth a shout over Silva. I'm undecided who to bring into the midfield just now though.

I was going to do Pogrebnyak to Adebayor in a few weeks, downgrading either Bale or Dempsey, but now it looks like Silva's the man for the chop. He just hasn't delivered lately.

This ankle talk worries me too,and the fears of being rested. Plus City look like bottling it if you ask me, awful fantasy prospects away from home recently and not easy home games.

Thinking of Suarez to Ade in a few weeks but need to see Spurs pick it up a bit first!

Can't ignore triple United coverage for the next 6 though IMO.

Indeed, I've only got Rooney at the moment but trying to guess which of the three wingers to bring in is a nightmare!

Evans is looking a good pick in defence right now but I'm quite happy to hang on to Heitinga, Glen Johnson and probably Bardsley for the rest of the season barring injuries and bans. Which leaves Senderos and Santon on the out list, and Sagna has been looking tempting lately.

That would leave me with a defence of Bardsley - Heitinga - GJ - Sagna - Evans. That'd be a selection headache every week for sure

I'm going for Young because he's the only one without any injury worries and by far the form player, Fergie would be mad to drop him. When all are fit I still think he's the most nailed on, he's definitely first choice LW ahead of Nani, with him and Valencia in main competition for the right.

Sagna looks good going forward but still wouldn't trust the Arsenal defence, would make Evans the priority with their fixtures and form. United and a few of their players have managed to find the fantasy holy grail and have form and fixtures simultaneously.

Plus my mini league rival has no United coverage whatsoever 😀

this young stuff at the moment seems worryingly similar to gw4 after the arsenal game where he was a massive bandwagon that didn't really go anywhere and anyone who sold nani for him lost a lot of points. that was even before valencia was in the picture. i don't know, he looked a real threat v west brom but young, nani and valencia into 2 spots is messy, nani is one hell of a player to keep on the bench

I'm not a big fan of Young in the past, but this seems very different to post Arsenal.

The Arsenal game was a flash in the pan, this run has seen 3 assists and 2 goals in his last 3 league games as well as goals both internationally and in Europe.

Young was the best player for United vs Spurs and the second best after Rooney today. If Nani has picked up and injury, you'd expect Young to be nailed on for at least 3 weeks as Valencia and Nani share the spot on the right for a while after injury. At the end of the day Fergie isn't going to drop the form player, when Nani has been useless recently and Valencia isn't match fit.

seems almost identical to me, tottenham was his arsenal 8-2, he got assists either side of that 8-2 then nani's class eventually showed as young went quiet, then young got injured, then nani went a bit poo himself.
i was expecting valencia and nani in contention for wolves next gw from early whispers, will have to wait for fergie's press conferences.
i've seen a lot of this talk about nani's 'useless' form lately and it seems very OTT. to me he looked like a player who was out for a month and simply wasn't great for his own very high standards. he's barely played for 6 weeks and if anything i think it highlights what a prospect he is that his only 2 games lately in this slightly resuty state have been a 6 and a 7.
i agree young has surely secured a spot for next game at least, is it sustainable though? from a non-FPL view i think nani and valencia are a class above young, compare young and nani when he's on the left and yeah i think young has a better shout. it will always be 3 guys for 2 spots and i really don't see young's form as sustained enough to have secured a spot for any more than next week. a quiet game in midweek for young and suddenly his 2 good league games are diluted by these two performances v bilbao.
i guess the return leg v bilbao will provide some answers on the injury situation of nani and valencia as well as a chance for young to make his stake stronger.

Yeah I think holding onto players with the notion that they will eventually come good is one of the major pitfalls of this game. I wasn't really into FF last year but this year seems like Kneejerking has been mostly beneficial.

When I can be bother I'll go back and add up how many points my highest scoring player recieved each week and then how often I gave him the armband. Those at the very top will prob have the highest rate of success.

Anders Lindegaard went down in price to 4.2m. Speaking of bargain. Play him all the time and when he is rotated Vorm steps in. Not bad, not bad at all. I have theory that goalkeeper rotations doesn't work. U just pick one and play him all the time. The overall leaders has Hilario and Vorm. I will do the analysis end of the season or I hope the scouts will do, but looks like Goalkeeper rotation is overrated IMO. Last year I stopped rotating and went with Foster all the time. Previously I was playing Schwarzer all the time. U just realized who is the value keeper and play him all season. Note to myself for the next season.

As a Schwarzer/Vorm rotater for the entire season, bar the month or so for the injury, I would 100% agree.

I would estimate I've missed about 60-75% of clean sheets by rotating, discounting weeks where either neither or both have kept a CS.

Basically when one or the other has kept a CS I've had the wrong one on the pitch much more often than not and certainly would have benefited from playing one every game.

Probably true for me to an extent. It just got to the point where rotation was becoming such a stress and I'd continually make the wrong choice. Then by making the wrong choice I'd get even more stressed about it next week which would pressure me into making another poor choice, and it was just depressing and I got to a point where I was at a loss who to pick.

I can see the argument where no rotation avoids this fact completely and can easily turn out for the better, it avoids the stress of selection and would have improved my keeper returns this season.

only 11 points but hey, it beat the best keeper in the league by 11.
then played vorm every week whilst schwarzer was out.
since schwarzer has come back it's been a success every week until this one thanks to that stoppage time weimann goal

i think in general you could be onto something though daniel, it won't make you points, but you wont lose out badly either. i think it's the equivalent of owning silva for the season 😛 i said to someone earlier silva's name is perfect because with him you'll never win gold; but you'll do enough to beat bronze. i think this keeper approach is the same, i got lucky with vorm and schwarzer, in past seasons had less success

Just went and had a in depth look back at every choice, and it turns out I only benched 4 clean sheets in total. Maybe that very disheartening spell of 4/5 has created a view in my mind that rotation went a lot worse than it actually did.

So in the end only lost out on about 16 points on rotation, which still makes me better off than playing one every week.

Think my rotation problems were in my head, I guess I've at least struck even this way if not done better.

              Again, no it isn't...
              Stockdale/Schwarzer = 112
              Schwarzer/Vorm (home/away) = 142

I think I was just sh*t at choosing. I got to a point where I missed a couple in a row and started over thinking each choice in relation to what went wrong the previous weeks.

Would bench the home player with the harder fixture one week and he'd keep a CS, so next week would play the home player and he'd not keep a CS and I really over analysed and over compensated and I think I missed 4/5 in a row just before Schwarzer's injury.

Summed up the awful first half of the season I had though. Have done better recently until this week, which was unfortunate with the late Villa goal.

that's harsh, put the hard work in to find the best 2 keepers then muck it up a bit 😉
at the time of his injury schwarzer was 2nd top scoring keeper behind vorm, was just about the only thing that went well 1st half of the season

I think it'd be close, but I don't doubt that having a Vorm/Bogdan or Vorm/Tremmel combination would have been better value.

Newcastle have been infuriating to rotate. Since I played my GW21 wildcard I can think of plenty more occasions where I've had Krul and Santon benched than when either of them have got me a cleanie. They'll keep clean sheets against Man Utd and Blackburn but concede 3 against Liverpool and one against Everton.

simple matsh will prove u wrong. it is fair to assume that if vorm and krul are rotated, then they will play half the matches each. therefore, playing krul all season would give 108 points, but rotating krul and vorm will roughly give 115.5 points.

If you rotated Vorm and Krul purely home and away you would have between 137-142 points depending on who you played when they were both at home/away. More than both Krul (108) and Vorm (123)

            jackoff ftw.
i think rotation works for sure but you have to find one of the few that work, then it's not just play the home keeper for example you'd play a keeper at wigan over one hosting man utd

Lindegaard + Hart might be the best Keeper combo at the moment. They even rotate well

thinking back i had schwarzer too, had zuberbuhler (their sub keeper) as 2nd keeper, was 2 or 3 seasons ago and it was nice to relax every week not caring which keeper to play. it was actually in reaction to benching points a lot.
since then without knowing stats i think rotating has worked, not by a lot, but worked.

Early morning teaser, cause I know you loves it... 😉

    a) Save the transfer
    b) Skrtel -> Kaboul (generates enough cash to do Walcott/Suarez -> Bale/Ade in GW31)
    c) Suarez -> Adebayor
    d) Suarez -> Ba
    e) Nani -> Young

    Mignolet, (Bogdan)
    JEvans, Skrtel, Enrique, (Caulker), (Shotton)
    Nani, Dempsey, Walcott, Sigurdsson, (Surman)
    RVP, Rooney, Suarez

      Tricky one for sure.

Reckon Suarez is worth keeping for the next two, can see him scoring at least once in those two games. Also seems fruitless to ditch a pool defender for a Spurs one until after the QPR and Wigan games.

Therefore I'd say wait until we get news of Nani's availability, but potentially go for e.

I think I'm between a) and b) at the moment. b) means I can afford to get Bale & Ade in for GW31 when Spurs' fixtures get really good, which is appealing. It also means not doubling up on LIV defence and still being able to play JEvans (wol), Enrique (qpr), Kaboul (STO) in GW29 and JEvans (FUL), Enrique (WIG) and Caulker (EVE) in GW30...

If Nani is out of the wol game this week then e) is very likely...

B isn't a bad option I guess, you've got a solid defense either way, but doing the transfer avoids doubling. You will definitely want Bale but not sold on getting Ade yet, would need to see his form improve.

    I 23, pre-bonuses and none will get a bonus :P, with RVP(C),Ba,Raylor,Skrtel to play

Hmm, Song and Gutiarez clashing with each other. sent off. Simpson coming into play and again sent off.

A 3-2 score with braces from each Ba & RVP and one from Raylor.

    Possible ... 😐

why didnt nani play this gwk? I was thinking mata > nani as I dont have rooney
