Having failed to notch away from Craven Cottage this calendar year, many a Fantasy managers’ plans for the upcoming double Gameweek 36 had centred around getting rid of Clint Dempsey. This afternoon at the Reebok, the American give us plenty to ponder as a brace ended Bolton’s recent winning run and sent the US international to second behind Robin Van Persie in the overall points rankings.

Prior to today’s display, Dempsey’s notoriously poor away form had produced just three goals, compared to 10 goals and six assists in front of his own fans. With a blank Gameweek 34 on the horizon and trips to Liverpool and Everton in Gameweek 36, the decision to transfer him out made plenty sense; Fulham had scored just eight on the road all season before today, after all. Now, however, many have a dilemma.

Given his current form, those still holding Dempsey will surely look upon Monday evening’s upcoming home clash against Chelsea as another potentially strong opportunity of points. The visit of Wigan in Gameweek 35 affords him the chance of a substantial home haul, with the option of the captain’s armband a definite possibility.

While Gareth Bale and David Silva (without a goal since Gameweek 24 and Gameweek 16 respectively) stumble towards the finish line, Dempsey – handed a role up front in light of Pavel Pogrebnyak’s absence – simply shows no sign of letting up as he forges further ahead of his fellow-midfielders in the Fantasy running.

Transfer plans may now be postponed or ripped up altogether as we look for ways to hold onto the American. That straight swap for Theo Walcott before Arsenal’s trip to Wolves on Wednesday that many had in mind, or the move to Stephane Sessegnon for Sunderland’s home game with the midlanders in Gameweek 34 may never see the light of day now. With form the clear winner over fixtures as the season heats up, can we really afford to run the risk of moving out such a potent source of points?

I think we're head to heading in the bottom five league this week. 19-18 to you with zamora and taraabt left respectively

Guess I'm realistically hoping for a Man U pumping and a Bobby booking for a 20 each draw

    My stubby, grubby finger is hovering over one of these transfer moves ;
Dempsey to Walcott (switch back in 35)
    Suarez to P Cisse

There's some 0.1's to be made but I'm holding off...RVP / Rooney/ Walcott could go off injured tomoro and the money game is unimportant at this stage of the season....another day to go to monitor form and injuries... enjoy my green arrow and sleep on my transfer plans for another night.
I might also have a sneaky puke after too many beers.

You have 10 players for gw 34,which is all most people are going with, I think.
For the dgw, you should think of selling Rooney, or possibly RVP, and drafting in ADE and VDV for Walcott.
Or if Tott is still looking poor, possibly a Chelsea forward (rotation prob. there too) and VDV. Your defence is too inexpensive to upgrade to anything meaningful. but if you sold off Rooney you could look at Kelly to Hibbert (eve) .I don't trust todays results- Fulham aren't strong at the back and Everton are. Overall you're in good shape. Good Luck.

    CURRENT TEAM
    Migs, Bogdan
    JEvans, Kompany, Skrtel, Caulker, Turner
    Dempsey, Walcott, Valencia, Siggy, Surman
    RVP, Rooney, P Cisse

    Bank 3.6m, 1 free transfer

    PLAN
    GW33: Save
    GW34: Surman -> Sess
    GW35: Walcott -> Bale
GW36: Kompany & Rooney -> Baines & Adebayor (and perhaps Turner -> BAE for a hit, although would mean benching Caulker (WOL) who has a decent single fixture that week too)

Cheers. What do you think about

        a) doing Surman -> Sess this week and saving the GW34 transfer (would mean a better 1st sub in GW33, but also running the risk of Sess getting injured in GW33)

        b) the Turner -> BAE hit in GW36

I'd at least do the Turner -> BAE sub. Three Spurs players is a must for the DGW, and BAE is a good choice for one of those three.

Surman -> Sess...well, I'd do it if Surman is your first sub. You never know with SAF, he might rotate or something else could happen for you to need that sub.

Yep, I have 1 freebie for GW33 and 3.6m with the above team. So I already have 11 for GW34 and I can't see anything better to do with the one I can't carry forward to GW35 than to upgrade Surman (who lets be honest, doesn't offer a huge score threat - last 8 scores, 2,2,2,2,2,1,2,2) to Sess who has WOL, avl, BOL from GW34-36.

Is Bale to Walcott madness? Not convinced by him or Spurs atm, will get him back for DGW.

Really want Walcott for next week and 34 and its Bale or Dempsey?

Also Suarez to Cisse? I'm feeling very reluctant for some reason, Cisse surely can't keep it up and Suarez will be key for Pool over the next few weeks to get them out of their slump.

Raylor likely to get more playing time? Or is it time to ditch for Williamson?

    Any thoughts guys?

I don't think he will get starts, unless we pick up any more injuries. Left back was the only open spot for him, but it looks like santon is back in favour. People need to remember that raylor is still rubbish.

Colo should be back on monday, if not the week after for sure. Perch might play midfield for tiote on monday, but after that he's back to being a utulity bench player with raylor.

Thoughts of my just-now thought up DGW team:

    Begovic
    Simpson Caulker Turner
Bale Dempsey VDV (or Mata) Siggy
    Ade Cisse RVP

    Bench: Vorm, Valencia, Verm, Evans

You might as well ditch Verm if you're going to bench him... Maybe downgrade Verm to Spurs defender (and get Mata)

But that's still a good team

Cheers, was thinking that but might have to take a hit for that team alone, is only provisional for now so will be determined on in-form players closer to time, plus how close people in ML are to me - I'll probably play safe over anything to ensure winning, even if it means taking a hit to have their team 😆

Very harsh result for your lads earlier Kirby, the Ivanovic goal was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen. Same thing happened QPR recently with Clint Hill's goal that never was agaisnt Bolton

        Very harsh indeed!

Is appalling for decisions like that to be made at any points, but considering how crucial points like that are to us when we're amid a relegation battle it makes it all the worse.

Should have got a point after the performance we put in, but got to take the positives away and hope the team hold their heads up high in the next games, no doubting they can stay up still as they always fight till the end, got to keep the faith 🙂

Are people still getting rid of dempsey after yesterday's performance??

Walcott seems irresistible with his form/fixtures but demps has shown he is still a good shout.

I'm still doing Dempsey to Walcott this week, then to VDV for the double

Mrs China Mag will stick with Dempsey

My feeling is that it doesn't really matter how well Dempsey does, i would still back walcott and then VDV to score better over the period.

Why would anyone get rid of Dempsey? And now he's defied our poor away form stance as well. If anyone, Bale has got to go. Form over fixtures is the way to go this season.

I have 1.5 in the bank and thinking of Verminator for Enrique, do people think that is a good transfer?

    Mignolet Schwarzer
    Kompany Enrique Caulker Evans Kaboul
    Bale McLean Sigurdsson Dempsey Valencia
    Van Persie Rooney Bendtner

Which do people think will score better?

    a) BAE (BLA, bol, avl FUL) & Valencia (SWA, sun)

    b) Caulker (WOL), Vermaelen (NOR, wba) & Walcott (NOR, wba)

So; who else is/has got rid of Dempsey for Walcott this week and is switching back for GW35 when Dempsey is Home to Wigan and is a serious contender for the armband?

    Seems like a popular move.

If you think Cisse's form is hot, so is Clint's. Don't play the fixtures, Parm. You can do without Walcott. If you do really want him for gw33, Bale out is the way to go.

Personally not me, going to stick with Walcott or move to Mata for the double GW.

Chelsea and Arsenal are still fighting for Champions league places.
Besides I thought Wigan were great against Chelsea.

    GW34 Set
    Vorm
    Kompany Vermaelen Evans
    Siggurdson McLean Valencia Silva
    Rooney RVP Bendtner
    Krul Simpson Cahill Bale
Is it worth a 4 point hit to get Walcott in for Silva for GW33 and GW34?
