We’re down to the last 16 in the Scout Members Cup after last weekend’s results. Rodallega Bombs, who knocked out Evs in the previous round, progresses once again, while Stevey Trader was the top scoring manager for the round with 53 points – all the more impressive, given he took an eight point hit.

Elsewhere, former winner Fuzzy Dunlop is still in with a shout, as is site regular Eunuch Jelly, after a 45 point haul in Gameweek 30. The draw for the next round is being sorted out behind the scenes – we should be rolling that out tomorrow or Thursday:

I feel like Bunn's red card should have been overturned so I'm a bit disappointed about that!

I think it's fair that Callum McManaman's isn't being punished though. Although it was dangerous, I don't think there was any intent in the tackle and the red card is enough punishment.

Which one? The McManaman challenge? It's just my personal opinion. It's easy to watch the replays in slow motion and make him out to be a villain. It's obviously unfortunate for the Newcastle player but I don't think further punishment is in order.

Yeah, I guess so. I guess in this case, a ban equal to a red card would be in order, but labelling him as a murdered would be a bit extreme 😉

As someone asked on a previous page whether Marouane Fellaini had picked up an injury: he turned an ankle in training with the Belgian national team a couple of days ago, but was back training normally yesterday.

It's unclear whether Kompany will be fit for Friday though - coach Marc Wilmots has still yet to make a decision as to whether he'll be ready.

I had him for the first 3 weeks, then when I decided to lose him, he started scoring. Got him back in GW8, sold him afterwards, and then straight back in before his hatty.

For me it was a 50/50 call between Pienaar and Fellaini at the start of the season and I went for Pie. It worked out ok and he outscored Fellaini up until GW9 and I switched in GW12.

I think I've been pretty good with my transfers this year and I've had very few bandwagons that have failed. I've been playing quite conservatively though:

Hmmm. I agree it was a terrible tackle and should've been punished. I'm not sure I ever approve of witch hunts though since I think it was just a bit of adrenaline which made him go in recklessly. Whether he consciously went for the leg is another matter, but I like to have some faith in humanity by saying probably not!

I'm not sure the player injured (who knows to what extent) will care whether or not the other player was shown a plastic card in sports game made for everyone's entertainment.

Looking OK. Two free transfers with which I plan puncheon-maloney and michu-cazorla

Will keep fellaini on the bench (starting maloney for 2 nice games after which he becomes my main bench fodder)

This was my plan but what worries me is that michu-caz has now become a bandwagon - Never a confidence booster!

I'm in a similar position with Puncheon and Michu, 2 FTs and wanting to bring Santi in.

I wouldn't worry about what others are doing, your plan seems solid. Puncheon and Michu have to go between now and GW33 and the replacements are good.

I've got the bank to do Puncheon > Santi this week, saving a FT for next week when I need to make a decision on Bunn and Szczesney.

I could bring Maloney in but with his DGW a long way away, I'm concentrating on GW33 double players.

I've given it some thought and my only worry is how to cover Chelsea if they have a DGW. Can't decide if Rafatation is enough to forget the fact they have a DGW and go for safe options. Looking at Chelsea's fixture, I think he will utilise his whole squad, especially this week. I like the look of Lampard and maybe a defender but no-one is nailed on to start both of the double IMO.

Suarez > Lambert for Liverpool's blank. I also had Sturridge.

Picking Lambert was a good move:

              Lambert: 11,2,2,9 😀

              Keeping Sturridge wasn't in hindsight:

              Sturridge: 0,2,5

              Suarez: 17, 12, 1 😥

Hopefully the extra cash will be well invested in Cazrola.

I don't really look at the captain poll as it's not a representative sample. It's heavily influenced by ownership. I prefer to use RMT, Chris Glover's blog and Shots on Target to help make a decision if I'm stuck.

Is it 'who is the best captain?' Or is it 'who are you captaining?'? Both very different questions but I think that both are being answered on the poll. I think it's useful, but would be more useful if both questions were answered separately.

I know the feeling. When you plan a transfer and you think it is good, then a load of other people start doing it, it is somehow unnerving.

only thing is even when he's playing well, coutinho seems to get subbed off. I watched liverpool vs spurs and thought he was brilliant but he got subbed off after 57 mins. So if this happens you have to think you're only getting about two thirds of his potential points.

I had this in mind, though he got the full 90 against Soton. There was a similar trend with Sturridge when he got in. He wasn't getting many minutes cause he wasn't match fit, and then slowly he started getting 70-80 if not the full 90. I see a similar trend in this one too. Coutinho wasn't very fit when he came in..

True. He definitely looks like a cracking player, clinical and a great chance for assists too. Apparently he used to showboat too much but now he seems to be making quick, good decisions.

PS I guess vs spurs they were playing to open so that could be why he was subbed off. It could be he gets 90 against the smaller teams which is ideal.

Probably because when bandwagons fail, it is so spectacular it lives long in the memory. Look at last week's RVP vs Suarez vs Bale captaincy debate *shudder*

              Well done 😀

Me and Granville went for Bale on our doubles team over Rooney and Lampard, who were the other realistic captaincy options we discussed.

              Gutted!

Almost every first team player had played 120 minutes of football on Thursday, that was the deciding factor me to choose Lampard over Bale. Yes Bale can win it on his own, but not when every other player on the field is tired..

Those 2 point returns from GW12-18 are always there in my mind when I look at him.

      6 PPG since GW19 though.

Lambert has a PPG of 6.5ish in the same period though so he's not going.

I could sell Sturridge but Liverpool's fixtures over the next 3 are impossible to ignore!

He's been in my team a couple of times and also keen to get him back. Tinkerman makes a fair point about Lambert's stats, but Berba has a DGW coming, and is home to QPR next

Anyone looking for a very cheap attacker, don't look beyond rodriguez of southampton.

Seems to be the new manager's favourite player. Good form. Last game he ripped up the statistics with something like 8 shots, a goal and an assist. (vs lambert with 3 shots and a goal) The goal involved a run past the whole defence.

Admittedly some shots were off target which is why he didn't get BAPS.

While not as cheap, there are affordable strikers who have DGWs coming up and some people will rotate that third spot between the likes of Mirallas, Lukaku, Berba, Kone

There should be an option in the captains poll for you to enter your own captain ,
Eg we capt Lamps in the double last week but he didn't even show on the list in a home game V West ham.

      I strongly agree with this!

Some of the names they include, while excluding others in just dumb.

For example, Adam Le Fondre away to Man Utd!! Who is even going to consider captaining him?!!

Yet, Lampard at home to West Ham is not on the list!!

This situation happens every captain poll.

Most people will surely say QPR and Reading are down, but the battle to avoid 18th looks spectacularly poised. Everyone from 11th could go down. So who do you predict?
