As always, we cast our eye over the statistics across the previous round of matches to highlight some of the stand-out performers. Chelsea’s change of formation bodes well for their midfield veteran, United’s former Toffee provides chances aplenty, Villa’s misfiring frontman still has reason for optimism, while Liverpool’s young full-back delivers a tenacious display in the Merseyside derby:

Hazard looks a tad overpriced. Lampard is a decent punt but only if he is playing in an advanced role. He had done nothing FPL wise in the previous run of games.

    Team currently:

    Migs, Davies
    Coleman, Terry, Evans, Burner, XXXX
    Ravel, XXXX, Hazard, Ozil, Ramsey
    Lukaku, Suarez, Aguero

    Which option is best?

Repost from last night in case any one was interested:

I keep reading how Rooney is in great form and a must have etc etc but then comparing the stats to Lukaku, someone who has generally been out of form recently, the stats are quite surprising (bearing in mind the £3.2m price difference). I have taken the stats from the last 8 game's which coincided with Lukaku's move to Everton

    Rooney:
    Mins Played: 716
    Goals: 5
    Assists: 5
    Bonus: 11
    Points: 58
    PPG: 7.25

    Lukaku:
    Mins Played: 639
    Goals: 7
    Assists: 1
    Bonus: 10
    Points: 55
    PPG: 6.88

I think i'll save myself the extra £3m and spend it elsewhere.

It's weird how teams are posted here and they have Rooney/Kun/Suarez as forward line then often the first comment is "great team".

It's an interesting debate, the Lukaku vs Rooney one. I'm still deciding, but right now I am swaying towards Rooney for this simple reason.

Assuming Suarez and Aguero are nailed on in our teams there is only room for 1 other striker. From GW14/15 to the Jan WC I think some form of United attack is essential. Only Rooney and RVP are options, and the latter is way over priced. From GW16 onwards I think some form of Everton attacking is essential. Whilst not as explosive as Lukaku, I think Mirallas is a genuinely good option.

Rooney & Mirallas for me, but I can certainly see the appeal in Lukaku.

I think so - he'll be on all corners/free kicks, and possibly even pens. Haven't checked this, but someone posted yesterday to say he took and scored a pen preseason when Baines wasn't playing. Lukaku will probably get them though.

When RVP is on the pitch rooney is the 2nd best fpl option in Manu.. no doubt about it. when i pay 11 million i want the best option from that team. Rooney relies a lot on set pieces for his points

That certainly used to be the case, but I think it's very close now. RVP edges the goal threat, but Rooney is miles ahead in creativity. When RVP scores you can almost be surely it's from a Rooney pass.

The Rooney debate is interesting. For now, I've decided not to get, just for the knowledge that he'll miss -at least- one game over the busy period. If he gets rested in a game, then gets the yellow card coming on/next game, he'll miss two. Remy/Lukaku don't have any fixture congestion to note, I don't see any reason why they won't start all the games over the busy period.

I have captaincy options in Suarez and Aguero, maybe Haz/Wally if they really start firing.

Agreed. There's a few alternatives, and some might say they are safer because of Rooney's 4 yellows - however I wouldn't want to waste a transfer on selling Rooney at the moment. I strongly suspect a tactical yellow so he misses the League Cup game.

Great team. No need to do anything and save the FT in case Cabaye AND Ravmo both get booked. You could do with 1 getting it (Cabaye due to fixtures) and then the other.

If worst happens you can have 2 FT to sort it out.

Leave alone, you've done your work in previous weeks to get to that team.

The other option would be to get rid of clyne (fixtures) for someone else, but you'll lose the price rises if you want him back in the winter WC.

For me, it comes down to:

    A) Hazard & Lukaku, or

On paper A looks better, but no United attack for the run up to the Jan WC is pretty risky imo. Big decision required.

United are generally superb over the Xmas period and fixtures of:

NEW. avl, WHU, hul, nor, TOT, SWA look pretty sweet for attacking returns imo.

Nice. For me it comes down to:

        A)
        GW15: Snod -> Hazard
        GW16: Giroud -> Lukaku

        or B)
GW15: Giroud -> Rooney (possibly also Snod -> Sess for a hit)
        GW16: Walcott -> Hazard

Planned team before these trades would be:

        Boruc, Davis
        Terry, Evra, Clyne, Collins, Ward
        Ramsey, Walcott, Mirallas, Snodgrass, Ravel
        Aguero, Suarez, Giroud

Nice. That's the issue for me, I want Walcott but feel Ramsey might be enough and I actually need Hazard, especially gw 16.

Might be an idea to play the fixtures for Walcott and Hazard as you predicted yesterday.

a lot of my favorite posters on

any advice what i could do with my team?

    Vorm , Harper

    Pieters , Ivanovic , Clyne , Rat , Rosonier

    Hazard , Sess , Couthino , Ravel , Brady

    Aguero , Rooney , Hazard

    2FT's 0.8M in bank

-thinking about getting Walcott in - if i do that i will loose Ivanovic and Sess

-or just use 1FT and get some cheap defender in

    -or something else?

i dont have clear picture as i am very happy with my team and feel like i will throw my FT

I think I'm bringing in Walcott, but your forwards and mids seem good to me. I'd probably just use 1 transfer to bring in a cheap defender with a good fixture. Unless you really want to take a punt on Walcott. While I'll probably do it myself, I wouldn't actually advise someone else to as its very risky.

Scarily I’ve gone from 600,000 to 60,000 in 4 weeks, largely because of captain choice (Suarez/Aguero/Suarez/Aguero).

Can anyone give me some advice on this bag please:

    Boruc/Harper
    Dawson/ Coleman/ Clyne / Chester / Whitakker
    Ozil / Ramsey / yaya / Oscar / Ravel M
    Suarez / Aguero / Remy

Thinking of saving FT this week and then Remy / Ozil > ???? next week

OR..sorting my defence (Whitakker > Baker possibly)

    What do you guys think?

Just for the sake of argument..
    Rooney
tot EVE NEW villa WHM hull nor... JAN WC

    Lukaku
STK mun ars FUL swa SUN SOT.. JAN WC

Rooney has 3 home games in 7.. Lukaku has 4 home games in 7
If you own Suarez/Aguero the captaincy debate is settled so neither will have their points doubled at any time.
if rooney manages a brilliant 8 ppg he'll have 56 points over those games(though 48 if he misses a game from suspension/rest). if lukaku manages a healthy 6 ppg he'll have 42 points(will play all games if fit).. is the 10-15 point difference worth the 3 million?
    Question is
According to you.. How many points must Rooney outscore Lukaku by over that period for him to be worth the 3 million difference?

If Lukaku scores roughly same as Rooney and you use the cash you'd save owning the Everton player on, say, an extra premium defender or two, then it's clearly worth it.

The other thing is that Utd aren't yet hammering teams/scoring lots.

Might just get Lukaku in myself now.

over the season i'd definitely agree.. However, considerin we get a do over in January with a free WC maybe it's ok to let go of him for a lil while

Mirallas looks like great option, well done by still owning him

i might get him in gw16

would never get rid if we dint have the free WC. lukaku will prob rise a lot over this period too.. cash cow. And thanks.. mirallas has been brilliant!

Also Lukaku is undervalued right now and will rise a lot over this spell givin you spending money in Jan(you gotta get rid in January as fixtures take a turn for the worse very soon) while Rooney's price looks like it'll remain the same/drop considerin the impending yellow and the hefty price tag

All right let me put it this way. For that extra 3 m if you could upgrade Sess or Snoddy to Hazard or Silva it would more than close the gap.

And ya only if you have Suarez and Aguero.

I've got Remy, plan is Lukaku in GW16 and no Rooney. Hopefully he'll miss a game or two over the period due to rest or falling off the tightrope. It's mostly the captaincy argument which settles it for me.

Falling off the tightrope will be his rest.

People are reading to much into this Rooney rest nonsense.

Most likely. So if he doesn't get a yellow, you think he'll start the next say 4 games? If he starts tonight, I can't see him starting all of the next 3 GWs. He's played non-stop the last months.

One of the next 4, definitely. Newcastle? Tonight? I dunno. All of the next 4 are must-win games, but he can't start all of them. Really.

I don't see why not. Rooney is one of those players who needs to play regularly or he loses his edge/fitness. I don't expect him to get a rest at all, other than the league cup game (which is when he'll conveniently be serving his ban for 5 yellows).

I agree, he has immense fitness and needs to play a lot, but he can't play everything. At least I don't think he can, and Moyes has already brought up the need to rest Rooney at some point. We'll see though, if he lasts until the cup game color me impressed.

Maybe not that solid, but I think we can find value in their defenders in easy home games. Hull got horrid fixtures, Cardiff's fixtures are meh and they haven't defended that well this season.

    Well here you go.

    Migs Daniels

    Jagielka Fonte Vlar Terry Chester

    Wally Ravel Gerrard Oscar Bacuna

    Suarez Benteke Aguero

Thinking of Benteke to Lukaku and Chester to a palace defender in the coming weeks.

    So?
    Cheers in advance.

Really need a defender 5.3 and below can't decide there are many options. Villa, Norwich and Newcastle have best fixtures from what I can see but can I trust any of them? Azpilicueta, skrtel and Evans are all great value but who is most nailed on???
