The Dugout Discussion – Sunday

8 December 2013 3528 comments

Share:

The Gameweek continues with a pair of Sunday afternoon kick-offs, beginning with Fulham’s clash with Villa at the Cottage, in just a few minutes. Following on from that, two form sides clash at the Emirates as leaders Arsenal look for their seventh home victory of the season against an Everton outfit fresh from their midweek win at Old Trafford.

While those two teams are looking to extend a superb spell of results, Rene Meulensteen’s Fulham are desperately seeking to end a run of six consecutive defeats against Paul Lambert’s inconsistent Villa: they will arrive in West London unbeaten in their last four road trips in the league and boosted by the midweek win at St Mary’s.

Look to our Twitter feed for the latest news on today’s teamsheets as it breaks, while our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open and will remain so throughout today’s matches, up until the final whistle at the Emirates.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

City will win. I tell you why. For Arsenal, it is an away game after a midweek match in a continental cup. Those away games generally bring a lot worse results than the usual ones. In addition, it's a very important match and Wenger will play his best lineup against a Napoli team that will have to put their everything to this one. It will be tiring. City, moreover, has their midweek clash one day before. Already that gives them one day more to prepare to weekend match, and then it's at home, which means they again have more time, while Arsenal has to first go home and then will travel again. City's home form is fearsome, and in even conditions you would still not expect Arsenal to win at Etihad. In these conditions, a defeat is almost a certainty.

How is it sideways? Rooney is a massive upgrade on Negredo and Coutinho isn't performing fantasy wise. 9 goals in 2 games and he has 1 assist?

Mirallas could do very well with upcoming fixtures, only question mark is on his gametime.

I'm sometimes too afraid too post, even though I am on this site, reading your posts.

I don't want people to know that I am on this site 16 hours a day, every day.

It would be nice to see Everton not ship out any of their men in January and make an actual push for a top 4 finish.

No I don't, but it could. Not many expected Everton to win midweek.

2FT 2 million in bank. Considering Mig to Marshall and Williams to Distin leaves me with enough money to do Sess to 9.2 million midfielder next week. Anyone see a better move?
    Mignolet
    Williams / Terry / Burner
Ramsey / Barkley / Hazard / Rav Mo
    Rooney / Aguero / Suarez
Sess / Ward / Rosenoir Thanks alot
