There are just two matches on today’s Premier League agenda, with Arsenal’s Emirates encounter against West Brom getting us underway in a short while. Everton’s home defeat to City yesterday evening means the Gunners have now secured Champions League qualification for another season – whilst Mesut Ozil owners will be desperate for a good showing after many big-hitters failed to deliver in Saturday’s seven fixtures, Aaron Ramsey owners are left ruing their luck after the midfielder was ruled with a minor thigh injury. :

A win for the Baggies would ensure Pepe Mel’s side are safe for another year, though even if they suffer defeat, the midlands outfit may be safe by the end of today, depending on the result from Chelsea’s match with Norwich later this afternoon.

Even if the Canaries somehow salvage an unexpected draw today, Villa and Hull’s safety is guaranteed, whilst their vastly inferior goal difference would also mean West Brom are also secure, barring a mathematical miracle next weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s men have other ideas, though, as they look to bounce back from their midweek Champions League exit at the hands of Atletico Madrid. The Blues are on the hunt for a seventh home clean sheet in eight attempts, whilst Eden Hazard owners will be desperate for the Belgian to deliver in Chelsea’s final home match of the season.

Our Twitter feed carries all the news from today’s team sheets, while the Dugout Discussion chatroom remains open to collect your real-time reactions to today’s events.

Abramovich must be thrilled pumping millions into Chelsea to watch this crap every week. He should just go the whole hog and dump his hot Russian girlfriend for some 60 year old housewife from Leicester who likes to go dogging.

not really Aguero is injury prone, almost everybody new rooney is going to miss the 1st game, azpi was the only chelsea defender that has not rested and with cole inform was bound to happen.

Agree, no player in the world regains form playing 60 minutes and then nothing for a few weeks then back in. He's a bit greedy and makes the wrong decision from time to time but he was one of the best wingers in the world until Fergie dropped him for the hard working Valencia in the Champions league final, Nani never really recovered from that but he's never been given a run of games. I think he can regain his best form if he just gets a run of games in his preferred position

Lambert for me. Not a bad break, I suppose. Though I should have probably gone with my spidey sense and benched Baines. Only if I'm being totally honest, it would have been Chester in his stead, not Lambert. Teaches me not to play more than three defenders.

At start I tipped Arsenal or Chelsea for league (can't stand either). I predicted City 3rd and Liverpool/Spurs for 4th.

Okay time to do some planning for next week. Who of the following are unlikely to start?

    Chambers
    Chester
    Aguero
    Rooney
    Ramsey
    Azpil
    Mata
    Puncheon

Yes, I have them all 😛
