The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would be prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Ryan’s biggest concern is his cheap defenders. Any ideas for improvement there? Is he right to spend so much on Ivanovic or to trust in Stevan Jovetic replicating his preseason form?

    City manager has refused to rule out Aguero for GW1..
    The jov/dzecko headache is even worse now

      I think you have too much power on the offensive side and you are lacking some balance in your D. Naughton will be playing, but I don't know how good is pochetino D in WHL. Maybe try to replace one of your forwards with Jovetic/Dzeko/Giroud and upgrade your D and your midfield. Otherwise, great team mate!

      Those 3 defenders should play, but I think a Chelsea defender is highly recommended. 6.5/10

      Quite possibly the best front 7 I have seen yet.

      Pros: Firepower, good United and Chelsea coverage for favourable fixtures, Silva differential, Unlikely to lose value quickly.

      Cons: Defence quite weak, lack of depth on the bench.

    I know Isgrove is a punt, but if he plays 4.5 could be a steal and if he doesn't his price won't drop due to 0.2% coverage so I can reassess. Thoughts please?

        Is Bruce nailed on? I'm looking to keep the rotational pair for the long haul so ideally want a pair that will be playing week-in week-out.

      Sigurdsson for Hendo and it's looking much better. Marney instead of Isgrove perhaps. Not bad at all considering that attack.

        My plan is to bring in Sigurdsson as my GW2 transfer. It gives me the opportunity to scope him out, plus allows me an opportunity to take advantage of Liverpool's better fixture when compared to Swansea for the initial GW. I'm probably premature, but I have already planned my first transfers!

    An RMT would be nice (I've replied quite a bit on here over the past hour or two without posting). It's a weak bench, but everyone apart from Gilks should still play. Plus it's a very strong start with PVA basically the only weak link, until Aguero returns.

    Can anyone help me with who to start? I currently have a good defence and a decent bench and I'm unsure who to start.

    (Terry - P Jones) - Wisdom - Chester - PvA

    (Hazard - Mata - Ramsey) - Mutch - Siggy

    (Costa - Rooney) - Bojan

    Those in brackets are nailed on. I just wonder who to start out of those outside of the brackets. Thanks 🙂

          Cahill and Terry are nailed. I think Pulis will definately have a big impact, he leaves the team just two days before the first game. It will mess up the players heads. I would gone for Clyne or someone else just to be on the safe side.

      The price will be the same but I can't see them keeping same amount of CS this season and they have tough opening fixture. Sensible thing is to stay clear and see how they get on.
